AMERICAblog: 30% of Hillary donors who threatened Pelosi slept in the Lincoln Bedroom during Bill's presidency

[Tell us again how Obama, the guy in first place, is less popular than Hillary, the woman who is currently losing to Obama.

The Democratic Party can go to hell until it's time to decide if you want Insane McCain for President.

As expected, one of the two major Democratic candidates saw a downturn in the latest NBC/WSJ poll, but it's not the candidate that you think. Hillary Clinton is sporting the lowest personal ratings of the campaign. Moreover, her 37 percent positive rating is the lowest the NBC/WSJ poll has recorded since March 2001, two months after she was elected to the U.S. Senate from New York.

George W Bush does not work for America and it looks like Hillary wouldn't, either.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Isn't this exactly the kind of "pay and play" politics we were hoping to get rid of?
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
We are getting rid of it. That Obama has two million donors with an average donation of $109 sends a message to the Democratic Party: if you will only represent us, the grassroots, we will support you.

This is interesting... it looks like Hillary's dirty tactics are catching up with her too.
Now it's the old stories about the Lincoln bedroom that have come up.
I guess this time too, the Clinton camp will accuse Obama of something.
They seem to conveniently forget that they started this BS by flinging the kitchen sink at Obama.
Instead of playing victim again, Hillary better start enjoying this too.
She gleefully said that the attack part of her campaign was "fun".
So hope she has fun when all their sordid history in the WH comes out,
and she can have a good taste of what the rethuglicans would do to her, if
she (God forbid) is the nominee. Besides, as Bill says, if she cannot take these attacks, she should not run for President.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I wrote this yesterday, but I have another to add.
Hillary won't appear on Larry King, Stephanie Miller, Ed Shultz, Keith Olberman, Randi Rhodes, Sam Seder.....but this morning I saw that she went on FOX NEWS and did an interview with Greta Van Sustran..

Why does she only go on Right Wing Talk Shows?

    ????????
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    HereinDC,

Hillary goes on the RIGHT WING sites because she is one amongst her own. Hillary has been cozying up to the RIGHT for years now, sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes not so subtle.

Hillary has been associated with a right wing prayer group called "The Family" for years, has become fast friends with lost of our old enemies a la Gingrich, Murdoch, Karl Rove, Richard Mellon Scaife and the list goes on....

So why not Greta? Heck and she's even a woman...
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    John,

I will love you forever for giving us this list of donors...it is "priceless"! I will have to go and visit CNN (as I do not particularly cotton to their so called "news" any longer.

    So THANKS...much appreciated!
    .

Hillary's the best thing the GOPers have going right now. McMaverick's just a boring, tepid wannabe neocon...Hillary's single-handedly trashing the dems' best hope.

I wonder how Chelsea feels. She was there with her mother in Bosnia, she saw how things really happened, and now that Hillary has lied, and lied, and there are those great videos that disprove Hillary's version, I wonder what Chelsea thinks. What can Hillary say to justify to her daughter, that she has lied and exaggerated, to the nation?
I also think that Chelsea is not a little girl anymore.
She is nearly 30 years old, and kids younger than her are fighting for their country, and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. If she is put out in the forefront to campaign for her mother, she should be open to taking grown up questions too. She is an adult, who is now on her own, so she does not need to be sheltered and protected anymore. Just an observation.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    Sage,

I wondered the same about Chelsea. Whereas I think she should absolutely speak to reporters now that she is a grown woman who is campaigning for her mother, but I did fell badly when she was asked that question about her father's meanderings.

And now she hears her mom's lies come back to her through the media ll of the time, but perhaps she's used to it having come from the family back when Billie was Prez. As we can remember, he was no George Washington when it came to the "truth".

I say that the media stand up and confront Chelsea now that she is a grown woman and make some sort of stand. Heck, if she is old enough to campaign, she's old enough to speak to reporters on the campaign trail.

So? They want HRC to win. What's wrong with that?

You all are in such denial it is almost funny. This obsessive hatred of Hillary has blinded you to the fact that Obama CANNOT win in Nov. The 527's will spend $200m pushing this Wright stuff into the public mind. We are going to be creamed with Obama at the top of the ticket, so this Clinton-bashing is wearing thin.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Keno, I always enjoy people lecturing us about how Obama cannot win in November when who is faring even worse than Obama right now? Why, that would be Hillary! Who does worse in most of the national polls vs McCain? That would be Hillary! Who has more negatives than positives in the polls? Hillary! Tell us again how Obama, the guy in first place, is less popular than Hillary, the woman who is currently losing to Obama.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    John,

Would you go on CNN and speak for Obama as you do here? They always need white men for those pundit gallery shows.

    John,

I love it when you speak with fiery tones about Obama and Hillary. Now being that you have some connections with CNN, I was hoping we might be seeing you on the tube talking about the two.
  • Jimbo62 · 1 year ago
The Clintons are bullies, pure and simple. I think the new definition of "Sore Loser" should include a picture of Hill and Bill. My god, they are something else. It's one thing to keep plugging on in denial, it's another to try to change the rules, blackmail people, scorch the earth, praise the republican opponent, lie outright and continue after they role tape, flip flop on honoring the rules in Michigan and Florida, I could go on and on. I think the latest NBC poll pretty much says it all in that Hillary's negatives are at an all time low. Why would that be? I seriously think she is only hurting her own and Bill's long term legacy. It may be too late, they have squandered the goodwill they had with their own party, or at least 50% of them and I would dare say the other 50% have to be holding their noses and just waiting until it's over.

I would find very difficult to believe that Clinton people who are savy enough to post on a blog would not be able to see the similtaries between Clinton and Lieberman
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    HereinDC,

At this point, I think that both sides of the Primary spectrum are dug in deep, deep enough to NOT see the forest for the trees. Hillary has egged on her supporters in all sorts of ways by praising McCain and decimating Obama accusing him of all sorts of phony horrors. So my guess is that Hillary's "girls" are blind to Party (as Hillary has instructed), blind to truth (as Hillary has obfuscated the facts) and blind to betrayals. It is truly upsetting in a most profound manner.

Konisharick, I don't know if you saw the latest polls, but it clearly says that an African American has more chances than a woman to win the Presidency.
The new NBC/WSJ polls shows that Obama does better than Hillary against McCain, and people think Obama can unite the country more than McCain and least of all Hillary. Those are pretty good chances.

As for the Republican attacks, I agree we can certainly expect it, and Obama will have to face it too, but don't forget they will NEVER give Hillary a free pass. In fact with the baggage she carries, they will have MUCH MORE filth to throw at her. They are eagerly waiting for her to become the nominee.
Obama is not perfect, but he certainly carries less baggage, and right now
most polls show Obama a better candidate. Let's not forget that Hillary's negatives are MUCH MORE than her positive ratings, while Obama's is MUCH better.

I am furious this morning and the the first thread I read is about the Clinton donors, HALF of whom donated to Lieberman. How does this tie in to my anger, Israel. On the TODAY show Andrea Mitchell was all over the fact that Obama's preacher at some time in history bad mouthed Israel. OMG, now we really get down to the last nitty gritty of the rotten Clinton campaign. This is Clinton's biggest and most abominable "kitchen sink" policy against Obama. Her team is going to do a "9/11 was Saddam" on Obama. They are just going to keep drilling the names Obama and Wright UNTIL the idiot voters of this country believe the two are the same. The Israel lobby in this country is strong, stronger than most realize. You do not say ONE negative word about Israel and get away with it, the lsrael lobby will take you down. By tying Obama to Wright in this manner Clinton has effectively invoked the Israel lobby. I am furious. I will never, ever vote for Clinton under any circumstances, the Democratic party can go to hell.

    Aquarius,

I am just mad that I already left the Democratic Party so I can't leave them again!
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Dave

No, I am serious. I have said all along that I would vote for the Dem candidate regardless of who wins the nomination. This new mud slinging of Clinton has turned me off. Clinton cannot win, is not winning and refuses to step aside. After watching how she is conducting her campaign I don't want someone like that in charge of this country. We already have suffered 8 years under a sneaky, devious, lying bastard. I won't vote for her, I won't vote for McCain. I just won't vote.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    Aquarius,

I have come to the determination that IF Hillary is successful in stealing the nomination, I will NOT vote for her, I will NOT vote for McCain, and I WILL write in Obama's name.

That is my way of reconciliation of all things wrong with this election.

Considering the theory that Clinton would rather take down Obama and have McCain win the election so she could run again in 2012..
Can you imagine if Obama (given his popularity) would also run again..This would set up the exact sisuation that we have now..Obama had stated that this was a one time shot but that was before he realized the amount of support he has mustered..
So this nightmare could replay in four years only with a war with Iran and an overwelming conservative SCOTUS..
Yikes..I have to stop drinking coffee before bedtime..
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    OnceVM,

LOL, wow what caffeine can do!

I don't think it was Obama himself who limited his one run to this year, but his wife...and after all, she is the one who has to back him in this. Heck, I cannot imagine the threats and fear that family must go through each and every day he is running for President. So if his wife says no, I'm not sure how much pull all of his supporters will have on swaying him.

But who the heck knows...and at this point there is NO reason to believe that Obama will not be the Presidential nominee for the Democrats. They would be fools to mess with this one (and yes, I know...they have proved themselves to be just that over and over again).

    sigh...

It is about time someone from the Democratic party steps in and smacks Clinton upside her head. She is doing nothing to advance the Democrats in November. Her attitude of "elect me or lose the national election" is seriously disturbing. The Republicans will not have to spend much money in the fall, Clinton is doing all their work for them. WHY is it so vitally important to Clinton to become president at all costs? What is her agenda, ego yes, but I have to wonder if it is just all ego.

Wow. Clinton donors slept in the Lincoln Bedroom during the Clinton administration. You've got a scoop there! BTW -- David Geffen slept in the Lincoln Bedroom. Bill Richardson served in the Clinton administration. Rahm Emmanuel served in the Clinton administration. And they're supporting Obama. So cause and effect between being cozy with the Clintons and siding with Hilary -- not so much.

And the donors are threatening the party? That's a highly suggestive characterization of Democrats who are actually suggesting that Pelosi is threatening the future of the party with her divisive remarks. Perhaps the Speaker has forgotten that one of the Democratic presidential candidates will be back in the Senate soon.

As for Obama fixing the big donor problem, I don't think he gathered together a coalition of small donors to buy a $350,000 lot next to the house he wanted, and then sell a strip of it back to him so he could have a nicer yard. No, that would be the major backer and donor now under indictment.
  • obamanot · 1 year ago
Ericgolman--I agree with you wholeheartedly. The purpose of the superdelegates is to vote INDEPENDENTLY and NOT to simply vote the will of the people. The superdelegates were put into place to balance out strong emotional votes for candidates who may not ultimately do well in a general election. There are many more factors to consider by the superdelegates besides, as some would suggest, aligning with the pledged delegates. Pelosi should absolutely not be instructing the superdelegates to cast their votes in contravention of the rule of superdelegates. Talk about desperate--suggesting an overnight stay in the Lincoln bedroom is buying votes? Nobody is willing to vett Obama, but I guarantee there is a much more interesting story there. Check out his friends: Rezko, Allison Davis, Stuart Levine, Ayers & Dohrn. Rezko owned 11 properties in Obama's district where he collected rent and didn't maintain the buildings properly or pay his mortgages. Rezko also allegedly had improper dealings with several hospitals in Chicago. Imagine my surprise to learn that Michelle Obama has an executive position in a hospital which not only doesn't give discounts to patients without insurance, but charges them a premium. Isn't it interesting that Rezko financed several of Obama's campaigns and Michelle received a $194k a year salary increase only months after Obama became Senator. Yet, Obama tells us that Rezko never asked for any favors and Obama never gave any. Obama continues to deflect the attention onto Hillary, while escaping any real scrutiny. Obama is playing us all for fools and I am afraid we are going to deeply regret this election, should Obama succeed in stealing this nomination.
  • ericgoldman · 1 year ago
Yes, I always suspected there was more to this Rezko connection, and I've been waiting to learn more. Do you have a source for this info -- I'd love to do some independent research.

OT: I wonder if Larry Ellison is a Clinton supporter? He worked to get the assessed value of his estated reduced to get a $3 million reduction in his taxes. Nice - the number 12 man on the Forbes' 500 list - worth $25 billion - is taking money away from school children. Asshole.

  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    Gary,

I can't tell angry we are about all of this. the school system here in the Bay area is abysmal and getting worse with each apporaching year. Just last year, I was at a store buying some work knic knacs and someone in front of me was buying things for the local school. She was scrambling for money and receipts so I asked her what it was for. She told me the class was trying to put on a play to raise money for the school since they barely had the basics needed. (and remember this is within a wealthy area). I offered to pay for her things and she was dumbfounded. She asked me WHY I would do that. I told her because our government won't.

She smiled and I paid and hopefully the kids raised enough money for what they needed. It is just shameful how badly equipped the PUBLIC schools are here...Larry Ellison be damned!
