No surprises here. Just what I expected from Palin after being hidden away from any real interaction with the public the last few days & her being drilled & schooled by all of the Bush policy "experts", speech writers & coaches brought in to tutor her. More of the same ol', same ol'... a truly sad state of affairs.

I'm glad that there's uneasiness on the GOP side about this ticket. I saw the speeches by Guliani & Palin. They were heavy on the insulting rhetoric and out and out lies. I thought Palin's delivery was mechanical. I'm pretty sure she'll have a wonderful time campaigning. <snark>

What's hilarious is Peggy Noonan always writes in her newspaper columns so eloquently about "political narratives", and has for years. Funny, I never seen her write of those narratives as "bullshit"?

Watch Mike Murphy and Peggy Noonan scramble to get back on the bus (Nooners is already rummaging through her handbag looking for the ticket stub) after an open mic caught them revealing their true feelings about the McCain-Palin comedy team. Political operatives are, as a rule, without much shame to begin with, but GOP operatives have made "shameless" a household word. They can lie one second, then lie about their lying the next, then tell a completely contradictory lie a second later - all while swearing on their mother's soul that the double skim latte mochaccino they're sipping is perked Maxwell House, black, foam on their upper lip notwithstanding.
