AMERICAblog: 70 top Clinton donors defected to Obama in March

  • bill__free · 1 year ago
i made a comment once that i had voted for clinton but was switching to obama after hillary got so negative.
people immediately said i was always for obama. now obama goes on FOX . i don't think i will even vote in november. obama seemed so genuine. how could he go on FOX?? someone defend him. i am pissed. no upside, all downside. thats how i see it. a real bonehead move. now if you are an abama supporter, don't bother saying i am for clinton. i don't like her either.

I think Obama went on FOX because he is attracting a lot of cross over Republicans who are completely fed up with the neo con agenda. And because Chris Wallace took a lot of heat for sticking it to his fellow foxy friends for bashing Obama over the 'typical white woman' comment.

He did quite well in this interview, imho. At least Fox posted his real educational qualifications. The right has tried to portray Obama as a typical socialist Dem, but his defense of the middle class tax cuts and other relevant points in this interview it is going to be hard for the Reps to make this case now.

He came across as very strong and informed on National Security, which will help him against McCain, who basically has his head in his ass on this topic while the media tries to say this is his strength. We have to beat them with their home field advantage as well as our own.

"CPM" stands for Corporate Propaganda Media

It is time. It is time for good Democrats to stop listening to the CPM and to demand the Clintons pack it up!

If you're in the Hickory, NC area, Obama is appearing at 2 pm on Tuesday, 4/29. Tickets needed; call 828-327-4227 to get them.

I'm pissed I won't be able to go--it would be the opportunity of a lifetime.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Hillary has no standing in the Democratic party any longer and if not for the MSM she would have dropped out already due to neglect from the media, just the way they ignored John Edwards.

    bill_free:

I'd go on FOX, if I were Obama, just to prove to them I wasn't afraid of the Corporate Propaganda Media. They've been making quite a bit of hay over at CPM - Fox News with their "Obama watch." Obama needs to shut them down, and let them know he isn't afraid or running from them. Now, if he is elected President that is when he needs to lower the boom. In fact, if Democrats come out on top of this next election there should be a BOYCOTT of CPM - Fox News. Shut them down...

Oh, "Mr. Straight Talk Express" is using his wife's wealth to bypass the spirit of his signature campaign finance law. Not to mention he OUTRIGHT BROKE THE LAW on financing his campaign. I guess we won't hear much from the Corporate Propaganda Media (CPM) on this breach?

"Because that exemption remains, Mr. McCain’s campaign was able to use his wife’s corporate plane like a charter jet while paying first-class rates, several campaign finance experts said. Several of those experts, however, added that his campaign’s actions, while keeping with the letter of law, did not reflect its spirit.

“This amounts to a subsidy for his campaign, which is notable given how badly they were struggling last year,” said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that collects and analyzes campaign data."

While the rest of us struggle to fill our gas tanks, "Mr. Straight Talk Express" is using his wife's booze money to fly around and campaign for President:

He'll do anything to try to get elected President, won't he?

This cartoon sums up Hillary's campaign tactics. ;-)

cowboy, good sentiments, but many have given up on actually "filling" the tanks, instead opting to only purchase $20-25 at a time.

We never fill up our 12 gal. tank; it would cost $45 and we like to part with our money a little more slowly. : ) Besides, being tightfisted with it prevents us from fantasizing that a full tank will enable us to make more trips. We only drive now when absolutely necessary (work, grocery store). I mean, there's hasn't been any pleasure in driving for a long time now.

    'Hillary Strangelove'

AMERICANS have learned to take with a grain of salt much of the rhetoric in a campaign like the current Democratic donnybrook between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Still, there are some red lines that should never be crossed. Clinton did so Tuesday morning, the day of the Pennsylvania primary, when she told ABC's "Good Morning America" that, if she were president, she would "totally obliterate" Iran if Iran attacked Israel.

I wonder how many more will defect. AND I wonder how soon the so called Super delegates will take in deciding for whom they will vote.

I'm tired already...PLEASE let's wrap this thing up!

    Related;

Clinton friends say 'Bubba is losing it.'

WASHINGTON - He's just not the same Bubba.

Hillary Clinton's husband is still brilliant, still passionate and still a magnificent campaigner. But people who have known him and observers who have watched Bill Clinton for decades say he's lost at least half a step.

Think of him like Michael Jordan - only the past-his-prime version, playing for the Washington Wizards.

More than one acquaintance used the same words: "He's just not the same."

Colleagues point to a slew of potential reasons for Bubba stepping in it so often, including psychological and medical.

Bush Bites, Vickie Rice took down Clinton's surrogate this morning about just that very thing. Boy, did he spin, spin, spin, parse, parse, parse. Of course that's not what she said!

    OT

Just finished watching V for Vendetta. What a movie. This is the second time I have seen it and it seems less like fiction than the first time.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
OT: there was an article in the North Carolina Observer about conditions in the barracks in Ft. Bragg.
    http://www.fayobserver.com/updates#second

There is also a video at the site shot by the father of a returning soldier. Bush and the gang and the Pentagon should all be shot for what they are doing to our men and women. With all this the military still support Bushco. This is disgusting and should not be tolerated. Where are the Democrats. Where is McCain, this should be shoved right up his rosy pink asshole.
Fly around in your wife's plane while troops returning from combat live in conditions in barracks you would not put a homeless person in. The GOP own this war and own the horrible treatment of our troops.
    Call your senator.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
lynchie, Clinton visited Ft. Bragg on Thursday, I believe, when that story first broke.

3 inches of water, mold everywhere, leaks all over...terrible conditions you wouldn't let an animal live in .

You know in your heart McCrazy is only concerned about himself and how he can screw everyone while he tries to buy another office with his wife's money.

Obama showed a lot of class by going on FOXNews. He has said time and time again we need to stop with the partisan bickering. Obama will heal the rifts between Republicans and Democrats and we can finally get something done in DC. I honestly think that by incorporating top Republicans in his Administration he is going to bring a new attitude of cooperation to government. And kudos to FOX for giving him fair treatment and good coverage. Now let's see what new excuse Billary gives for her cowardly avoidance of FOXNews.

Gen Clark went on Faux -- as a military expert -- reaching out to others

...so I think Obama on Faux was a good idea.... others will get to see Obama since they never watch any other "news" stations
  • Viceroy · 1 year ago
Two points: if reports are true, Hillary just raised another 10 million virtually overnight, meaning she has the money to go on, so this story means very little, and money ain't everything as Penssylvania proved. Obama = McGovern

As for Fox, Obama was a novelty act set up to amuse the folks; it won't change anything.
  • TruthSerum · 1 year ago
Viceroy: "Hillary just raised another 10 million virtually overnight"

What's your source on that? Politico just published a very extensive piece detailing the widespread corruption and questionable funding in Hillary's campaign. She has a lot of explaining to do, and it will probably be in front of a grand jury: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0408/9889....

I'm sorry, and I know I'll get even more haters dropping my score for this, but it's simply ludicrous to say that Clinton no longer has any standing in the party. There are still millions of Democrats supporting her, who still prefer her over Obama, and in many recent polls Obama has been slipping while Clinton has been gaining.

There's so much wishful thinking in the idea that the Clintons are "powerless" or "over". Clinton, even if she loses this race, will likely be a very strong voice in the party for quite some time to come, if she chooses.

When you think about it, the turn from Hillary to Obama is amazing! I have no idea how extensive the sudden shift in donations has been in past elections, but I'm willing to be that this move toward Obama is just a little more sudden and a little more complete than in past elections when the "tardy" hopped on the band wagon. It will be interesting to see how close Obama comes to sweeping the Indiana Democrats. He plays basketball with them, that counts for a lot in the Hoosier State.
  • Smarmy · 1 year ago
The only true Hillary supporters are Bill and Chelsea. And I simply don't believe she raised $10 mil overnight. The people voting for her are helping Rush Limbaugh in his Operation Chaos event. Don't forget, the republicans want to run against Hillary and are scared of Obama. Hillary is a liar and a fraud.
