AMERICAblog: $7 million book deal for Palin?

  • RIPWAMU · 1 year ago
Wow, 7 million for about 8-10 run on sentences? Amazing. When that comes out I will take the book price and donate it to HRC and Planned Parenthood.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
And the morons will probably shell out $35 for a waste of many trees.

Todd will get to retire and never have to lift another finger, and Sarah will go on her way to making even more millions for thinking about absolutely nothing but enriching them.

    Can you say GRIFTERS?
  • lynne · 1 year ago
"I can forgive John McCain for a lot of his campaign rhetoric. But, I don't think I'll ever forgive him for inflicting Palin on us."

    Best. Line. Ever.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Glad she has so much time with a 17 year old pregnant daughter and a special needs baby and running the state of Alaska and 2 other kids under the age of 17 and not living at the State Capitol.
  • lilyannerose · 1 year ago
We can always hope that a year from now folks are going to be saying "Sarah Who???
  • slideguy · 1 year ago
So, who do you suppose she'll get to write it?
  • Nylund · 1 year ago
My guess is either Bill Kristol or Trig. The hard part would be figuring out which one she actually went with once you read it.
  • tigergrrldc · 1 year ago
Who is going to buy this book? Her core supporters don't or can't read. Good thing she will have a ghost writer, because if her writin is like her talkin, the book will be one long run-on sentence without g's.
  • caphillprof · 1 year ago
Few will actually buy the book, but it will nevertheless be a best seller. The rightwing moneybags (see, e.g. Richard Mellon Scaif) buy up tens of thousands of copies, which are stored in warehouses and eventually, hopefully, recycled. Meanwhile, some wingnut--Coulter, Dworkin or Palin--gets to pretend to be a bestselling author.
  • gigi · 1 year ago
i will buy it and millions more you are not the only people in the world. you are are so scare she will run in 2012 you cant sleep at night wll guess what she will run and win .she was on the campion for 2 months not 2 years and she was already giving bo a run for his million money go palin a lot of people are going to be screaming someday im hot im hot
  • Nylund · 1 year ago
I wish, by example, there would be no ghostwriter, and also, for her ability, not just of politicians, to write clearly, is, as they say, you betcha, not also very good, but, you know, might also be the entertainment.
  • foxy · 1 year ago
Unless they have naked pictures of Todd I ain't buying it.
  • iWoman · 1 year ago
Yeah. My brother was at the library several weeks ago, the election was still going on, and some biography about Palin was already pulled from the shelves and sitting in the discount bin. It was published around when she was first announced as the candidate for vice president, and a few weeks later the library pulled it from its shelves and sold it for $.25.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Oh good...something else for GWB to read. Ought to be just about his speed.
  • kladinvt · 1 year ago
Too bad her supporters can't read.
  • notasheep · 1 year ago
I'm a writer, so I have some knowledge of the publishing industry. I'm also a conspiracy theorist (that is, a novelist). These advances are simply bribes/payoffs. If the publisher is HarperCollins, the payoff is from Murdoch. The size and source of her book deal will reflect how much the company thinks her future goodwill is worth. It matters not a whit to them if anyone ever reads it.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
    That's worth knowing. Thank you.

oh, I wish I was clever enough to think of brilliant things like this.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
    I got lucky  ☺
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
    Wow, a book without nouns...
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Hey, this kind of money means she'll be able to continue in the lifestyle to which she had become accustomed as a recipient of the RNC stylists...
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
    The title will be ALSO.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
I have seen lots of proposed titles, but I love this one for its ability to sum it all up in 4 letters.
  • percol8r · 1 year ago
I couldn't decide which one was more snarky. You pick -->

#1 -- I'm not even sure she can read a book -- much less write one.

    #2 -- $7 million for Palin's book? That's $1 million per page/picture.
  • Rufus · 1 year ago
    But she's so purdy.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
7 million dollars for her to tell more lies in a book??

She ought to get together with lil Bushie boy ...they can write a liar's book together.

What a farce the GOP has become.
  • freshpaint · 1 year ago
Christmas of next year? Straight to the 3 buck remainder bin. This woman needs to just go back to freeking Alaska and govern. Learn something about the world and real-world policies, then emerge. She should have no more publicity until then.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
It's not the book it is the publicity tour and talk show rounds we will have to endure that sucks!
  • freshpaint · 1 year ago
oh, god. I'd forgotten about that. And there will be another cute new baby to lug around as a prop. Poor Bristol.

    LOL
  • freshpaint · 1 year ago
gobble-de-gook must be me replying to message via Hotmail with formatting. Can't access it to delete any longer. Please, someone who's a moderator: delete the bad message please?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    exactly. god, that voice...
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
They need a ghostwriter with no ethics, since she will LIE her way through her life story.

LIES. Do lies count as fraud, like James Frye??
  • grandma · 1 year ago
That's exactly what it will be....nothing but lies and bullshit.
  • kooperman · 1 year ago
If she actually writes it herself, the poor editor should make more than Palin does...
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
Speaking of book deals, check this one out....

Probably a much better read then that bore-ass-palin.

And sheds more light into the JFK assassination.

ten bucks says Mary Matalin is behind this loser, too. i think she published Mary Cheney's snore of a book.

just think, Rich Lowry can hide it under his mattress and look at the pictures every night!
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
Coloring book or scratch and sniff? I pity the poor ghost writer that has to translate her into discernible English.

Unbelievable. This sounds like a middle school girls' locker room ... nothing but jealousy. For those of you that are saying "it is all lies ... " what are you talking about? Please inform those of us who obviously don't have your first-hand experience with Ms. Palin. And PLEASE, you don't really want to talk about lies do you? How about OBAMA's infamous birth certificate? Oh, my bad, you just want change ... well, I'm sure once his true birth certificate surfaces, you'll see what kind of "changes" he is capable of. Wow ... sorry I stumbled across this blog ... have a wonderful day!
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    LOL - nice snark
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
    ....and STUMBLE you did......
  • RIPWAMU · 1 year ago
Yes, YOU are unbelievable. Bless your heart.

Are you really going to come on here and try that tired ass birth certificate card? GET OVER IT!!! Your President Elect was born as a U.S. Citizen and all the faux Fox tricks and graphics in the heavens cannot change that! Did you listen to his speech on Election Night? Are you such a bonehead that none of that got through to you?
  • Wesinoregon · 1 year ago
    IDIOT! Just like Palin.
  • Artygirl · 1 year ago
We're sorry you stumbled across it too! I am not so sure it would be full of lies as much as it would be full of NOTHING, like her. What could possibly be so facinating about A)Her life and B) her huge debacle at attempting to be seriously considered a plausible candidate for VP. Jealous ?Of what? Her stupidity? Her arrogance? Her obvious audacity that she "knew enough"about the world so she didn't "bother " to educate herself or attempt to be educated by others so she could at least look somewhat competent? A Rep. friend of mine told me that they had her being schooled several hours a day, yet by the end of the campaign she didn't seem any coherent than she did from the beginning.! I agree her book will be on the clearance bin sooner than you can say "you betcha".
  • rusty08 · 1 year ago
When I heard she was going to write a book, I told my husband, how can she do that when she doesn't know how to read?
  • SkippyFlipjack · 1 year ago
I like how the "publishing insider" mentions the money President Clinton got for his book. Um, yeah, but he was actually, well, *President*. Yes he got $10 mil.. does that mean I should ask for $6 mil?
  • cosanostradamus · 1 year ago
    .
I can't WAIT to get her book! Are crayons included?

Or is it one of those where you can stick clothes on her . . . and take 'em OFF???!!!

    WOO-HOO!!! GILF, BABY, GILF!!!

Oh, no, wait! ARISTOCRACY INCONVENIENCED BY FIRES
    .

I don't know about you, but I can't WAIT to read The Audacity of Dope
  • Dale Lazarov · 1 year ago
If it comes out as a book on tape read by Sarah, I will download a pirate copy.

If it comes out as a book on tape read by Tina Fey, I am sooo buying it...
  • RIPWAMU · 1 year ago
I think it should be called "The Geyser, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the Chronicles of Wasilla"
  • RitornaVincitor · 1 year ago
Let's hope Palin doesn't write the book herself. Let's pray that she knows someone who knows how to put a sentence together.
  • Stephen LaRose · 1 year ago
That's amazing, since she's written more books than she has read.
  • erip · 1 year ago
can't forgive him??? if i could i'd kiss him on the lips..
The pick of the foreign policy expert from alaska is one of the major reasons why we have president elect obama. I couldn't be happier about McCain's choice, altho i must say it was quite scary during the election.
Now i can't imagine anyone would buy her book.
  • Dionysus · 1 year ago
Good grief, what a M-O-R-O-N. I had to do a double take on Fey's SNL skit because she used Palin's exact words! One part of me wishes this dim wit would build an igloo and stay there forever. Another part of me secretly hopes the GOP is stupid enough to bring her back in 2012 so she can get SPANKED again with a new improved running mate. If she is the best that the GOP can do they might as well team her up with Samuel Wurzelbacher aka Joe Plumber. Regarding her book deal, perhaps she can also land a spot as a talk show host. I wonder what she's going to write about? Maybe she and Greta van Susteren can team up and invent new moose recipes.

THE BOOK.... ITS A COLORING BOOK!!!
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
page 45: "We were doing a chemistry experiment in class and assigned to be my partner in that experiment was a very cute boy named Todd Palin, which was a person I didn't really know all that much but I and my girlfriends noticed him in the hallway near the lockers. Todd was a boy that made me also think of the great outdoors that we enjoy so much up there in Wasilla, he was having a clean smell to him and all, and then also we knew he liked to do the snow machine fixing and racing. I thought maybe that Todd was an opportunity sent by the Lord to be in my life as a partner . . ."
  • Bubbles · 1 year ago
Might she plagiarize "Dick and Jane"?

Could have some nostalgia value in it.
  • Richard · 1 year ago
It would be a waste of paper. What is there to write about? She’s as dumb as a bag of hammers and all she does is shoot animals and lie a lot. Palin's fans don't read books anyway.
