AMERICAblog: A bit jealous are we?

  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Wow!, Guess I'm seeing things there that should only be admitted during a Rohrsache test.....
  • MalibuBarbie · 1 year ago
Right wingers flipping out is a GOOD thing. If a little graphic design can do this just think what the entire executive branch helmed by Obama will do to them. They'll wake up and it will be four flip outs before breakfast just to get the day started. They'll be flipping out so much they'll be doing somersaults.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Right wingers basically just get up in the morning, read the new rules on the internet about how not to get screwed by the government, and then go to work to make gobs of money that they wind up giving to their church and to their kiddoes...
  • MalibuBarbie · 1 year ago
I can sympathize. What self respecting right winger wants to give money to McCain? Give it to church and kiddoes instead.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
McCain's a weasel. I have not given him money. Barack's smart. Maybe he better start to use his brain before it's too late...
  • slappymagoo · 1 year ago
Huh, you don't say. You know what I think is Hitler-like. Suppressing the rights of certain voters, like the elderly, or injured veterans, or minorities, people who tend to be weaker in the social hierarchy. People who can use the protections that come from a strong and fair government most.

Thank GOD nobody's doing that in America. Right?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I don't know where you live, slappymaggot, but in this town we drive them to the polling booth or get them a ballot by mail; no matter what their political affiliation happens to be...
  • slappymagoo · 1 year ago
Wow, you're really, really not very bright, are you?

I'm not advocating voter suppression like it's a good thing. I'm pointing out that the GOP has been active in voter suppression in areas where they think voter turnout will lean toward Democrats, and now there are reports that the government is actively prohibiting non-partisan voter registration drives in federally-funded retirement facilities (filled with vets who are, seemingly, none too impressed with John Boy McMaverickity). The attempts to tie voter registration with Photo ID, which amounts to a poll tax, and effects poor people who, again, tend to vote Democrat.

Fine, drive them to the polling booth, get them a ballot by mail. Bully for you. I'm railing against the GOP stooge who's trying to stop that person from voting in the first place, OR attempting to invalidate their vote. We're essentially on the same side; you just apparently let that fire in your belly blur fact-based sarcasm from entering your brain.

That's the same sign fans of Courtney Love would make at her concerts to show their love. It represents a Hole -- like the name of the band.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
It represents a circle, continuousness as in everyone is connected. Perfect example of liberal philosophy. Only trouble is that I have serious doubts that Obama is a liberal or supports everyone. He seems too divisive for a true liberal. I am hoping that given the massive ground swell of liberalism in his name, he will find it impossible to resist and be forced to be the liberal that so many assume he is.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Well, this blog doesn't have to worry; it's so troll infested that it passes the "fairness" test.......

Anything that causes the neo-con republicans to flip-out, be distressed, in anguish and/or heartache is GREAT in my book!

No, this is just bad design. Too much like Goatse. Regardless, two hands to make one symbol is poor resource management. F'rinstance, a tweak on the "OK" symbol- thumb and forefinger make the "o", and all other fingers straight up, and you've got your "b". B. O., Barack Obama, right? 'Course. anyone thinking of Goatse is gonna wind up thinking about "B"ody "O"dor... sigh.
  • Matthew Saroff · 1 year ago
I'm glad that I wasn't the only one to see Goatse.
  • Jessica54 · 1 year ago
It's amusing to see how worried Republicans are about Obama's popularity. Of course, I would be too if my candidate was as exciting as watching paint dry.

    Jack is right.
This is NOT a good design. I'm an artist and I thought this was an attack ad from the wingers.
Visually, it looks like it's saying
    OBAMA
    ZERO
    Sign of progress.

This should be tossed in the bin.

And p.s. -the goatse aspect is truly scary jack (((((shivers))))) :)

I've been a fan of the guy for years, but I'm sorry: this hand signal thing is downright creepy.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
Joe Klien (yeah, I know), wrote yesterday that it's raining Nazis. The neocons see Nazis in everything. I personally think it then spreads to all wingers who think everything that is not Limbaugh approved to be related to 1930s Germany. sigh.

Scary. Obama is embodiment of Amun Ra.
  • smiling_dog · 1 year ago
I think this is a bit "O"rwellian. It kind of freaks me out.
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
not so coo, imo. contrived and weird. looks like a sign some natives would make in an original star trek tv show..
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
I don't know if I like this very much, but if it pisses off the right wing extremists (i.e. the republiCONs), I'm happy.

I seem to recall that Bush used to send signals to others using the texas long horn hand signal which is also supposed to be the devil's signal, or some such thing (google 'is bush the antichrist')
  • NMRon · 1 year ago
I'm with others here in that my first thought was that this was part of the attack. Call me a perv, but my first thought was that it was some kind of sexual innuendo.

It's hard to imagine that this suggestive graphic would test out ok in a focus group, so it probably wasn't tested properly, or at all.
  • medium lebowski · 1 year ago
Actually, I'd want to keep an eye on whoever pushed this graphic onto the Obama camp.
