  • sittenpretty · 1 year ago
    2 words ..too long
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
I'd tie his FP advisor Schuenemen in there too and his lobbying work for Georgia ...not to mention his history re the Iraq war and relationship with Chalabi...illustrates WHO McCain surrounds himself with....war mongers.
  • sittenpretty · 1 year ago
i would like to see....McCain fails to cast votes in the Senate etc,etc...He is UN satisfactory as a Senator, why make him another UN successful president like his pal W
  • OneManComotion · 1 year ago
Bravo, Bravo. Best line..."Thanks John, we'll take it from here" RUN WITH IT !!!!!!!!!!!!
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
There's too many things to hit McCain on. We can't do them all and shouldn't try. We got to pick a few and POUND POUND POUND them into peoples heads. McCain is so opening himself up to get the elitist tag smacked across his jaws, Obama needs to take advantage. That and the economy and the wars ought to be the main focus of the attacks.

Looks like it's going to be Obama/Bayh...

Over at Huffington Post, the odds seem to be on Biden:

Damn straight! A good combination of eloquence and toughness. This is what is missing, the old school democratic style of eloquently cutting your opponent off at the knees.

Above all, all ads need to be mean and nasty from now on.

That's all McCain is running. We are CHUMPS who deserve to lose if we don't do likewise. Each ad needs questions like these:

When McCain left one of his 10 houses in a 9-car motorcade to get a drink at Starbucks yesterday, was he wearing his $520 shoes?
And was Cindy along to charge another $750,000 on her credit cards this month?

    My first post.

    Here's a couple suggestions:

On McSame's birthday, run an ad showing McSame and Bushie Boy eating birthday cake in Arizona when thousands of people were drowning in their homes in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina.

Concerning the house gaffe, show a commercial where McShame was delinquient on the taxes he owed on that luxury condo he owns in San Diego. With the financial problems many are having because of the Bush economy, this should really stick with the voters,

    Welcome, Mike. Good suggestions.

Did McCain put country first or the failed Bush Policies first, then list all of the bad polices that McCain voted for.

The best way to knock McCain off of his Maverick, honorable pedestal is to saw off the legs, Obama and his surrogates have to politely but forcefully cut off his honorable, maverick POW legs but of course with polite force.

NBC News just reported that Kaine and Bayh have just been told that they are not Obama's VP choice.

Sounds like it's Biden to me. (Yay!)

John A. has some of the smartest people reading his site. :)

    Excellent!

It's a great minute ad.... Plenty of pictures to show what's happen to America in one minute.

Despite efforts to the contrary, "houses" has stuck and Obama is not going to give it up.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
I sure hope someone in Denver is busy now making t-shirts that ask: "When McCain left one of his 10 houses in a 9-car motorcade to get a capuccino at Starbucks yesterday, was he wearing his $520 shoes?" to sell at the Democratic convention. (and online sales, too)

    Bush/McCain GOP
of the rich. for the rich. by the rich.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
K.O. reported that McCain spent over $270,000 on domestic help in 2007.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
McCain spent $273,000 on a butler last year.

And he owns 10 homes PLUS additional rental properties on top of the 10 homes. As one who will never be able to afford ONE home in my lifetime in spite of working my ass off every goddamn day, I find McCain and his plastic bimbo to epitomize the worst of this country.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
K.O reports that Mitt has four houses.

So, I guess the likely Repub ticket would have a total of 12 to 14 homes.
  • TomJoad · 1 year ago
By the way...being reported that US forces killed 70 civilians just today. Heard reports that 50 are children.
God DAMN it. When will that kind of thing matter to "well..you know...war is war" middle-fucking-America?

We bomb, we do SO many things to protect SOLDIERS...you know, who joined the army, have kevlar, armor, weponry, air strikes, etc, etc. so who dies? Civilians.
    shit...

    made me cry
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
One wonders how many years it will be before our media pays any attention to the millions of Iraqis whose lives were destroyed? They still report on the surge as if it is a success, too, in spite of the fact that 6 million Iraqis still don't consider the surge to have made it safe for them to return to their homes yet....

    1) Why isn't Obama asking for your vote, as is traditional in campaigns?

    2) Why don't they have an ad that ties the remark by McCain that people with mortgage problems should skip their vacations to the McCains' purchase on the same day of a 2nd condo (because the one they already owned in that building was too small)?

    3) Why don't they have an ad with the graphic from WAPO showing the difference between McCain and Obama on taxes?
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/st...
It's pretty dramatic. I would think that would be easy to do in a short ad.

    4) Why don't they rebrand on the lack-of-experience" thing? This should be clearly an outside-the-beltway-time-for-change thing.
  • stevie314159 · 1 year ago
    Shorter version:

"I always knew John McCain would run the country like George Bush, but I never thought he'd run his campaign like Bush too. John McCain, why have you become just like the President you once despised?"
  • EdNJ · 1 year ago
While I like the idea of pushing back against the idea that Obama loves his country less because he disagrees with McCain, the last line "Thanks, John, but we'll take it from here." is, in my opinion, a bad idea.

Given the traction that the presumptuousness meme got after Obama's European trip (whether it was fair or not), this kind of ad, while maybe cathartic to many of us, would not go over well in McCain's media and with the casual observer.
  • falloch · 1 year ago
I agree with you. 'Don't-know-how-many-houses' comment was a godsend, but it can't be allowed to carry on through many more cycles without other hard-hitting ads on other issues. In another day or two, Rove-ster's going to turn around and slap Obama with accusations that he's a socialist that doesn't believe Amurka is the land of opportunity where anyone can fulfil their dreams of being rich, etc. etc. etc.
  • hardeknox · 1 year ago
...voted with Bush 95% of the time, when he bothered to show up. He missed more votes in the last two years than any other senator.
C'mon, somebody. This is almost never mentioned.
  • WPE · 1 year ago
Another ad should be made highlighting Obama's judgment. Troops out of 2011? Obama's idea. 12,000 more troops to Afghanistan? Obama's idea. Tagline: Judgment for the 21st century. Something along those lines. We can't snark our way to the finish line. If people are getting tired of Noun Verb POW, they'll get tired of this too. While it's fine to highlight McCain's negatives, of which they're are plenty, it's important to give voters something positive, something to vote FOR, and not just AGAINST.
  • Bubbles · 1 year ago
Use lots of video of him against him. Video of him saying one thing now and another later, or just stupid stuff like "i don't know anything about economics" or "I don't know how to send an email" or "I'm for the draft" + "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" or "I don't know how many Houses I have - but Obama's an elitist"

And just for giggles, how about throwing in Yosemite Sam calling himself "the rootin, tootinist gun in the west" against "McCain's own bellicose statements". We all knew that bugs always got the best of him. etc...

Remember, posterity expects each democrat to do their duty to save our democracy. Have at it.
  • stymie · 1 year ago
Show a Bush gaffe, then a McSame gaffe, another Bush, another McSame, etc. then a short list of the results Bush policies has produced, then a shot of McSame with a deer in the headlights look and "what's Next?... Vote McCain for more of the same"
  • islalvr · 1 year ago
Good ad! I would change "Bush's boys" to "Karl Rove's boys," because the perception of Rove is EVIL, whereas the perception of bush is INCOMPETENT/STUPID. Oh, never mind, good ad!
