AMERICAblog: A reader writes in about McCain "earning his homes"

  • meemers · 1 year ago
Bingo! Thanks, I now have a new talking point for the day!
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
If it's a reference to the Rezko association...bring it on! Rezko worked both sides of the aisle and has dirt on the Rove-Repug interference with the US attorney.
  • Rucka123 · 1 year ago
and how is inheriting (from her father) the same as earning?
  • michaelt · 1 year ago
mccain, if you didn't know, was a POW.
  • ComradeRutherford · 1 year ago
How is it that Obama didn't 'earn' his home? I missed that...
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    He didn't marry a fortune.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
    Ouch!

    Now that's a talking point !

LOL, that's something John A. would of said.

    :)

"Cheating on your disabled wife to chase an heiress is not what most Americans would consider earning it."

Unless you're married to Zsa Zsa and have a fake royal title...
  • rextrek1 · 1 year ago
In the words of Kucinich.."WAKE UP AMERICA"!!!! OBAMA/BIDEN 08
  • stoic · 1 year ago
Oh, I don't know. It depends on what he had to put out (or put on) to "earn" it.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
this isn't charlie crist, this is john mccain we're talking about.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    That's right!

remember... its the "American Dream" to marry a rich blonde nymphomaniac who's father owns a liquor store.

wait a minute... that's an old sexist joke isn't it?

its the "American Dream" to marry a rich blonde drug addict / rodeo queen who's father owns a beer wholesaler.

    kinda similar?
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
    BBBWWWWAAAAAAHAHA!
  • coolcatdaddy · 1 year ago
Maybe I should put up a Craigslist ad.

"SGWM, aspiring Republican, seeks wealthy heiress for sham marriage.

Keep me in the style to which I can become accustomed to, and I'll provide the political connections to keep your wealth and business interests secure.

No sex necessary - in fact, it would help if you're a lesbian and aren't interested in actual consummation of the marriage (a prospect that, as a gay man, makes me feel rather ill).

Would consider adopting children to show at political events, particularly if you're well enough off to hire sufficient nannies and private tutors to keep the little bastards occupied."
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
feelings of self-hate, low self-esteem or having battered wives syndrome a plus. You should be able to take orders and not be offended by being called a trollup or c*nt.

Romney is missing the point. The fact that McPain is so rich, has so many houses, that he cannot remember the number, and is living this good life, shows he is totally disconnected from the needs of the American people, and has no clue about helping them. His policies, like our present Failure in the WH, are all aimed at helping the oil companies, and making the wealthy, richer. We have two rich oil barons in the WH and look how that turned out.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
doesn't romney own four or five houses himself?

he saw it as an honest mistake.

"No longer will the eight most dreaded words in the English language be 'The vice president's office is on the phone.'"
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I guess I never had to worry about the VP's office on the phone.

I was thinking of like... DREADED words.

"we need a list of your sex partners" type of dreaded.

shows where my mind goes :-)

I'm hoping Joe will offer a televised tour of the new Cheney-installed bunkers deep in the bedrock under the Navel Observatory...

Romney? The Repulsive VP candidate? Well, with hair that doesn't move, I suppose it's safe to say that Romney earned his homes and businesses too. I can't imagine how much work it must be to lacquer that hair into place every morning. I have no idea how to connect unmoveable hair with an income, but obviously, Romney has it all figured out. He has nice teeth and a lovely complexion too.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
    Good retort, John!
  • lark83 · 1 year ago
Ditto. Romney is all about protecting the wealthy - as is the GOP in general.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
His response to a question on why, not even one of his five sons were in the service was astounding since he was so pro-war. They were serving there country by supporting their father on the road when he was running. Incredible. They actually think they are the cream on top of the milk and that actually fighting for this country is for those who were unfortunate to be born into a lower station than they. Their job is to beat the drums of war and then, step to the side and cheer on those unfortunate citizens who have to go and actually fight. They actually think they are supporting the troops just doing that. Meanwhile, they make more money off of the war like Cheney with Halliburten. Is it any wonder they do not want to lose the White House and Congress, this will all stop and the poor dears might have to pay their fair share in taxes after all those tax breaks that Cretin Bush pushed through a republican dominated Congress for them paid for by the working classes again and again over these past eight years. It's time for the clock to swing back and be on the side of the real working classes and give them relief and make these traitors pay for what they've done.
  • lark83 · 1 year ago
Yeah, its pretty typical how very few of the wealthy join the military. 5 sons and not a one served a day. A really pathetic gathering is the young college republicans. They pretend to be too intellectually talented to be in the military.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
I've noticed that as well. They always have an excuse to not put their own butts on the line, yet they're the first one's to make fun of another's service to their country if they aren't a republican. All one has to remember is the wearing of band aids at the republican convention when they were making fun of Kerry, a real war hero. Can you believe it, making fun of a guy who was wounded three times for his country and going back into the line of fire to rescue one of his crew mates and these "faux-arm-chair patriots" have the gall to make fun of him when their candidate even went AWOL to stay out of Vietnam and got away with it because he was born of privilege. ( how bad does an injury have to be until they finally shut up about it being a scratch especially when they are too chicken to put their own life on the line. You saw what they did to Max Clelan who lost both legs and one arm in Vietnam, they called him a traitor and the people voted in another republican jerk. They will stop at nothing to ruin a person. ) I think it was the late gov. Anne Richards who said that Bush was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple! Well, McBush dumped his first wife and three kids for a much younger, and richer trophy wife. How dare they speak of family values.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
Watch out for leaks regarding McPain's VP at a crucial time today, or some kind of stunt to wipe Obama's expected bounce in the polls, or to stop his momentum.

The dirty rethugs are snakes, who will use dirty tactics, like they did to John Kerry.
The do not know how to win honestly.

there was already talk last night about what "joe lieberman could bring to the table"

    egad. mcsame/lieberman????
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
What Joe Lieberman could bring to the table: Sabbath candlesticks.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Mother Nature might be providing the bump next week during the GOP convention. The GOPrs would be well advised to keep their heads down tonight..they might need the return favor next week.
  • frau sally benz · 1 year ago
Umm... I would also add, did Obama steal his home or something?? He just broke in and beat up a white man?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I hear that happens all the time in the affluent suburbs of DC.

    /snark
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
mitt says he also tortures kittens.

of course, mitt wasn't a POW... so I don't know if we can trust him.
  • xjn · 1 year ago
Why don't we crowdsource things like this? A rapid response war room wiki where an admin posts a target and we craft a response collaboratively?

for instance, Romney saying that McCain was homeless for 5 years... some Vietnam Vets are STILL homeless, most weren't in a position to trade up when they got home.
  • jcgraham77 · 1 year ago
    exactly.
  • jcgraham77 · 1 year ago
What statement would neutralize this argument? Oh I know. "What about all those homeless POW/Vets living on the streets? Where are their free mansions?" Its time to take up for the Vets/POWs on the streets--and those POWS abandoned by our government in those cells. McCain sealed the POW records and left those guys to rot. He got his houses--he doesn't care.
  • jcgraham77 · 1 year ago
    New Slogan:

Picture of White House and John McCain
    NOT THIS HOUSE
  • xjn · 1 year ago
    or how about:
    #5 or is it #13?
    I can't remember.
  • jcgraham77 · 1 year ago
You can't say that--he was a POW for godsake!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • xjn · 1 year ago
just wait... we'll have people telling us we cant talk about him being a POW...
    .
    .
    .
    because he was a POW!!!
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
Didn't earn it? You know how hard it is to spend all that money? The crippling decision between the Ferragamo's , Gucci's, or Bruno Magli's? Whether to buy two houses by the beach or three? The fake apologies you have to make after you call your wife a trollop, so she doesn't cut you off? Being able to look at yourself in the mirror after you dumped your disabled wife to go fuck a pile of money? He's earned it buddy, he's earned it.

I thought the point was "how can you call Obama an elitist" when he has one home and McCain is so "down to earth" with 10+ homes and Ferragamo shoes? Oh, he keeps reminding me he was a POW, which is heroic, but it doesn't mean you can bs me.

    Who's an elitist?
  • boo12 · 1 year ago
uh,.........if he earned his homes, does that make him a gigolo.... McSame = jeff gannon

    The American Dream Is Dead
The new dream for a young man is the hope to marry into money so he never has to work.
The new dream for an old man is to win the lottery so he can afford to retire.
  • Chimpeach · 1 year ago
Obama didn't earn his house? well duh I thought his book sales enabled him to have a better standard of living. Oh, maybe writing books isn't considered work.
  • wolfgang_jurgen · 1 year ago
My wife isn't disabled, but I wonder if John McCain could hook me up? Oh, and by the way, is this apart of the good old family values?
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
HEY! Anybody ask Mittens how many wives he has?
  • rextrek1 · 1 year ago
