AMERICAblog: About Rick Davis' cool two million

  • bacalove · 1 year ago
"In 2007, Wall Street's five biggest firms-- Bear Stearns, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and Morgan Stanley - paid a record $39 billion in bonuses to themselves." ABC's Political Punch -- I say no Bail Out!
    AND
Sen. John McCain’s campaign manager, Rick Davis, was paid more than $30,000 a month for five years as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to defend them against stricter regulations!
    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/22/us/politics/2...

More McCain Hypocrisy! - And for those who think we will not have another Bush/Cheney Whitehouse if McCain gets elected, please be advised that McCain has 10 former Bush strategists and operatives working and advising him now. They are: Steve Schmitt, Tucker Eskew, Tracey Schmitt, Nicole Wallace, Mark Wallace, Stephen E. Biegun, W. Taylor Griffin, Matthew Scully, Greg Jenkins and Matt McDonald, which spells McCain-Bush all over again!

McCain who has been Chairman of the Commerce Committee for years says he knows very little about the economy, the one truth he has been honest about, because it has always been about Corporations first, only and last! It is our turn now and no more corporate bail outs who are in fear of losing their luxurious way of life on the back of the American people.

Has anyone asked Sarah Palin what her thoughts are on all of this? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Rick Davis says the press must be properly polite and deferential to Her Highness. That includes you, too. So, in response to your question: stop harassing women with your sexist interrogation of the Alaska governor, CINC of the Alaska National Guard, and America's #1 Expert on Energy!

Reclaim Democracy for America: purge the College Republican thugs from the system!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Better yet, send their entitled a$$e$ to Iraq!
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Davis, former College Republican field manager (1980 election), now alas too old to go.
  • hit_escape · 1 year ago
Obama should say, "As long as John McCain insists on firing people he can't fire, how about if he fires one guy he can fire. John McCain should do the country a favor and fire his campaign manager, who took 2 Million dollars lobbying for deregulation on behalf of these companies.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
The NYT website headlines Davis as "McCain adviser."
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
EXACTLY and AMEN on those points!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
The reader has an excellent point that the television news analysts and readers tend to take a huge SCANDAL on the Republican side and try to balance it with some blip or meme Republicans are simply lying about on the Democratic side. They are scared to death they might be called "progressive" or even worse "liberal" so the Republicans game the hell out of the refs. Its getting real old, and the media need to grow a set and become the FOURTH ESTATE again.

The likes of Mrs. Greenspan and Mrs. Nichols (all of them, really) are "journalists" who pride themselves on being "objective" and "fair" by presenting both sides of the "debate" or "issue" equally.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Watching Mrs. Greenspan right now on MSNBC. Andrea looks like a deer in headlights. Her husband's policies have come to fruition and its caused a big dent in her popularity. I'd be looking for a good divorce lawyer, if I were her.
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
I would bet Andrea doesn't want to be called Mrs. Greenspan right now. She probably hopes some people don't know she is related to Alan.

Is Tucker the most snarky Republican name one can name their kids? How about Skip or Buffy? How many Tucker's does McCain have in his camp? Answer: The world will never know!

For some reason, when I hear the name Tucker it makes me really angry.
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
I have looked into Tucker Bond's eyes and this man is either drugged or a complete idiot. Or both.

$2 million over a few years pales in comparison to the $521,000 average salary (includes secretaries) of Goldman Sachs, one of the many Congress may bailout and the home of Henry Paulson.

So how does it feel American taxpayer to pay for this?

If we as Americans sit back and allow this to happen without absolutely destroying Wall Street and DC then we deserve what we get.

Have we become a nation of supplicant coward slaves?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
There are less than ten percent of Americans who think our nation is headed in the right direction.

    Question:

"How high does one's IQ have to be to realize they can't vote for McCain and expect him to change the direction of the country?"

I'm thinking when one approaches about 110 IQ then they are able to make the decision to not support McCain?

What do the rest of you think?
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
ok if that's true, then we need the average IQ of likely voters to be >110. obviously the average IQ of all those eligible to vote is 100. somewhat less in Wasilla.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
True, but what would you guess? I'm thinking it takes about ten points over the average for people to be able to think for themselves. Of course, the more standard deviations you move to the right of the mean, the better the chance the person will be able to cut through all the media nonsense and pick the best leader.

Dubya is trying to stampede Congress again. When he was a child, did Poppy and Bar give him everything he wanted as soon as he demanded it so that he wouldn't throw a tantrum? "This is what I want, and I want it now" has been the way he's acted for 7 1/2 years. No investigation, no deliberation--we can see how well appeasing a spoiled little brat has worked for the country.

My wife always says, "Sweet Jesus, I hate Tucker Carlson." She's a very perceptive woman. Obama/Rufus 2008!

Oh, and Bush -- when he says the good deal expires soon, so we must buy now, you know we are going to get screwed.

How many times does it take before we storm and burn down the castle?
  • DoktorCiencia · 1 year ago
    All,

I've been watching ABC Daytime TV today and the McCain ad tying Obama to Raines is airing. Why is ABC airing an ad that has been thoroughly debunked?
