AMERICAblog: According to AP, Clinton may be able to use those general election contributions to pay down her debt

  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Using the general election mpmey to pay off the debts owed to others with the permission of donors is not a scam. At least peoplelike Mark Penn get paid off. I am happy that she loses her own money for there must be consequences, olitical and financial, for staying in the race well past it being done. I think she knows she is done and will drop out after the May 20th primiaries in West Virginia and Kentucky

In a way, so long as she quits attacking Obama, Clinton's staying in the race helps Obama in a way because it is better that he lose WV and Kentucky with Clinton in the race.

If she loans more money to her campaign then you know she still intends to steal it.

Hillary is a disgrace. It is that simple.

I'm sure the 16 MILLION people who have already voted for HRC already would be more than happy to send in $1.25 to help erase her debts.

She doesn't seem like the kind of person who pays her debts. I expect her to put more energy into avoiding the bills, the debts, the trespasses, than she would into just coming up with the cash.

It would be interesting to see how the debts break down: vendors, ads, travel, lobbyists...

Well, media buys and travel don't work on credit. So those have to be paid. They had to downgrade their campaign plane because of money troubles. And media buys require the cash up front. All of her "personal loans" went to straight to pay for TV spots. The people getting stiffed right now are a combination of Mark Penn, event production vendors, their call center people and probably the direct mail people. God forbid that Howard Wolfson would forgoe his $400k a month salary. Her staff are getting paid and the vendors are getting screwed.

"She doesn't seem like the kind of person who pays her debts."

I would hate to have the Accounts Payable job for her campaign.

Good thing she wasn't the nominee because she would run the country the way she runs her campaign.

Perhaps, if the media and the rest of us just ignore her, she will go away sooner. She has nothing left to say anymore that I want to hear.

it's nauseating that we have to deal with campaign finance at a time like this but frankly i wish we'd all stop talking about money. there's more at stake here.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Well good. I think Clinton's supporters should pay her bills, not Obama's supporters nor the DNC which is broke.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
At first I did not mind if Obama helped her out if it meant getting her out of the race. But, now, with her stubborn staying in, I hope Obama doesn't lift a finger to help her.
She is wasting money and running up the tab in a hopeless quest. And she thought she was best to handle the economy????

Wait a minute, how is that not double dipping? May as well up the contribution limits to $4600 if they can get away with this.
