AMERICAblog: Adopting the typical DC GOP strategy, Palin stonewalls Troopergate investigation, forcing subpoenas.

  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
She said she welcomed the investigation! WTF happened?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Simple: She was cocky enough to think nothing would come out of it, and she would go unscathed; or she would do a charm offensive with the investigators. Then the McCain Bully Boys intervened to ratchet it all up and take a leaf out of GonzoGate and told her to lawyer up and stonewall.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
You know, for a homewrecker, she sure gets into a lot of public bullshit.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
There's been ( I think) a total black out of Right Wing Propaganda today.
I see none of them on the internet coming to the defense of the GOP.
It's like they ALL got there Talking Point today of NOT posting on the internet.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Every Republican that went on record in her behalf needs to be brought into a TV Ad that all the Dems can use.

Republicans are too professional to just be lock-step.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
She reminds me of Diane Downs. She even told the press when her son's plane was leaving for Iraq.

Just anything to get the sympathy vote.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
    When is Bristol's due date?
  • foolme1ns · 1 year ago
Obama and Biden ought to be going after the McCain campaign hammer and tongs for coming out today and admitting that Sarah Palin IS NOT READY TO BE THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

They have locked her away UNTIL SHE IS READY TO FACE THE PRESS!!!!

Just think about that! She is being kept away from the press and the public UNTIL SHE IS READY TO HANDLE THEM.

This is their vice presidential candidate. She can't even handle the press. How is she supposed to handle Putin, or Maliki, or Osama Bin Laden?

This is insulting and incredible. Can you begin to imagine what would happen to a democratic campaign that said they had to LOCK THEIR VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE AWAY until they were ready? Joe Biden was ready the day Barack Obama chose him. THAT IS WHY BARACK OBAMA CHOSE HIM!!!

This needs to be shouted from the rooftops.

JOHN MCCAIN SAYS SARAH PALIN IS NOT READY TO BE THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
the media is ALL rilled(sp) up about Palin not talking,...it's free publicity for the Dems.....Let the media go after them.

Let Obama and Biden save the good fight closer to the election.

throw some punches now.....but get into the solid punches downthe road
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Why the Hell would she quash the investigation where she did nothing wrong. there's no way that she didn't give Alaskans the whole story!

NO WAY! She's a fighting pitbull that is going to find a camera any moment now.

What's the world record for giving a great speech and not following up with an interview?

    Please read!!!!

    It is kick ass!!!!

Sarah Palin warts and all exposed.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
I saw that letter and forwarded it to a couple of Republican people I know and they wrote back and said it was typical horseshit from the loony left and not even real...Hmmm, guess I'll have to direct them to snopes. Snopes got on that one fast! Good for them...
  • FatRat · 1 year ago
Snopes is pretty much beyond reproach.

    And they are indeed fast!
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
She wouldn't normally run from a fight? Uh, what do you call this, Sarah?

    Sarah,

    Find a camera, Honey.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Does anyone have a list of the books she wanted banned at the Wasilla library? I think that might tell us a lot about her inner psyche...
  • FatRat · 1 year ago
Don't think she every actually mentioned any books by title.

    http://news.bostonherald.com/news/2008/view.bg?...

"I was shocked. Mary Ellen sat up straight and said something along the line of, ’The books in the Wasilla Library collection were selected on the basis of national selection criteria for libraries of this size, and I would absolutely resist all efforts to ban books.’"

Palin didn’t mention specific books at that meeting, Kilkenny said.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    Thanks for that link...Scary indeed...

Too bad she never listed any. Probably stuff like Harry Potter, Huckleberry Finn, Two Daddies, and the usual list...

I've said it before but i'll say it again. I wouldn't be as scared of a McCain presidency as I would be about a Palin one. Yikes!
  • FatRat · 1 year ago
I'm also more than a tad curious, as to her "wish list" for banned books. I'm thinking that she wouldn't want to ban Huckeberry Finn because of "N-word Jim". I wonder if she actually uses the term Sambo! I haven't heard that slur in a long time. I first glanced at Sambo and I thought of was Russian wrestling.
  • JennieB · 1 year ago
You are not going to believe this . My jaw is on the floor.

Alaskans Speak (In A Frightened Whisper): Palin Is “Racist, Sexist, Vindictive, And Mean”

"So Sambo beat the bitch," said Sarah Palin when Obama beat Clinton.

HOLY. FREAKIN. CRAP. If this is true, perhaps this could be the bombshell we've been waiting for? Wow...
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
My Friday afternoon prayer: Dear Baby Jesus, please make Sarah Palin's Unchristian racism and white supremacist beliefs be true. True enough to convulse the entire national HQ of the McCain campaign, make them go into a bunker, and then kill themselves.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    AMEN!!!!!!!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Oh Please. That's how they think.
It's not like we didn't know.
all it takes is a few Rosa Parks to speak up and tell it like it is.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
again... read below... I believe this story, especially the part about white Alaskans being racist. My ex-partner, who is still a good friend of mine, is an african american Army Ranger veteran. When he was up there in Alaska, he said people were SO RACIST and afraid of his being black that they would THROW his change at him when he went to restaurants or gas station rather than risk touching his hand. This story just brought back what he told me about them! They are horribly racist in Alaska...
  • OleHippieChick · 1 year ago
The hinterlands are crumbling. It's like Lord of the Flies.

    From the LAProgressive article:

“The GOP is kind of like organized crime up here,” an insurance agent in Anchorage who knows the Palin family, explained. “It’s corrupt and arrogant. They’re all rich because they do private sweetheart deals with the oil companies, and they can destroy anyone. And they will, if they have to.”

“Once Palin became mayor,” he continued, “She became part of that inner circle

McCain / Palin - SAME OLD WASHINGTON STONEWALLING
  • akmtnbum · 1 year ago
She is hoping and praying that McSame and her win because her career in Alaska is coming to an end. Local progressive radio this morning had residents discussing how much more they had to take before impeachment. THe concensus seemed to be that enough is enough if she stonewalls an investigation that she welcomed that is enough, if she cooperates they are willing to wait until the findings are released to make a decision. So there is already the rumblings of local backlash forming. As the lustor wears off of all the attention Alaska is receiving right now the rumblings will only get loudler. Alaskans as a whole have a mistrust of outside politics. When Governor Hickle left to be Nixon's Sec. of Interior he was despised locally. Alaskans hired him to do a job and he didn't fulfill his promise. The only thing that allowed him to eventually rebuild his reputation was that Nixon fired him. Everyone in Alaska knows how she did campaign for governor on the bridge bu aren't saying anything because it's exciting to have one of your own in the spotlight. It wears off.

When has America had a canditate on a presidential ticket at the same time fighting an impeachment hearing from the job that got them to the national ticket?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
You know, nothing would be better than to have that happen. Obama wins, McCain goes back to the Senate, and she would be embarrassed and run out of office and fade into the obscurity of forgotten political has beens...
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
    Sarah,

    Please Honey.

Just give us one "I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation"

Please, just one. YOU ordered that investigation.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
She can't comment on an ongoing investigation? Is that the problem?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
funny... I doubt the state if California would send someone to me or take my statement over the phone if I were subpoenaed, because I'm busy.

sounds sorta... umm... what's the word? elitist.

funny, even Brittany Speers and Paris Hilton can't ignore the law.

  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I believe this article when it claims Palin said "Sambo beat the bitch" when discussing Obama beating Hillary Clinton. Why do I believe this? My partner in Washington, DC was an african american Army Ranger who spent time up in Alaska. He said people were so racist up there they were afraid to touch him. He had change THROWN AT HIM rather than them risk touching a black man. People were absolutely terrified of him. I have no problem believing she is racist AT ALL. Palin thinks she can get away with her racism because her husband has a tiny bit of Eskimo in him, but you wouldn't KNOW IT if they didn't tell ya. I know plenty of racist so-called Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma who are blond hair and blue eyed.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
okay... I was going to say something about how you can tell true American Indians... but, TMI I'm sure.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
I found that situation in Wasilla to be true as well. a lot of people move to alaska just because there are so few minorities there. I wonder if that is why Sarah's family moved from Idaho. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Should America really want this woman's "baggage" in the forefront of problems overshadowing the REAL issues if McSham is elected? HELL NO !!!!!!!!! Because that is all we are going to hear about is HER, not the issues. BUT, I suppose that is the plan and will keep the media occupied and off the corruption of 4 more years of the same.
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
Oh good God. She gives me a headache, make her shut up, make her go away. I swear to Thor, if the Lady McTrash is elected I will slit my wrists. Can you imagine 4 years of that voice, that screechy affected country bumpkin accent. Imagine 4 more years of our country being run like a run-down, poorly managed trailer park.
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
I know, I know. The idea is awful. It's death.
  • Wesinoregon · 1 year ago
She's was created in the image of the ancient mythical Greek Siren. She projects that noise to bring ALL to crash upon the rocky shore. Wait, maybe it's NOT a myth after all..
  • Wesinoregon · 1 year ago
Also, as a footnote. People here in the Pacific NW don't talk like she does even though it's closer to Alaska than most of the 48. People here don't have much of an accent.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
It is outrageous McCain is sticking us with the problem of Palin with the idea if something happens to him in office she will take over! She isn't a mascot folks. Being Vice President is only important WHEN it is the worst national security issue we can imagine, and that is the sudden death of our chief of the Executive Branch. Two heads are better than one, so the whole "inexperience" argument collapses with Biden and Obama working together on all issues. BUT! If something happened to Mr. McGoo then Palin would be IT - the President of the United States and that is a DANGEROUS proposition. It isn't putting Country First to GAMBLE like McCain did in order for him to satisfying his career goals. McCain is a United States Senator with too many homes and tons of money... what ELSE does he think he deserves for being a POW? There are a LOT of POWs, who are a helluva lot more deserving, who will never even be U.S. Senators much less have all those homes and money.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
jcgraham77, your link doesn't work for me. Can you tell me what it is about?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
It worked for me, you might try it again. Their servers may be crazy busy. It's about how racist Palin is (not that that should surprise us) but apparently this:

    "“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively."...

There is MUCH more in the article (it's a long one) including some choice phrases she uses for Eskimos and such...
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Thanks houstonray. My computer won't open the link for some reason.

If this is true, and strikes me as highly probable, I hope there is enough witnesses to make a big stink of it. Maybe this is the real reason McCain picked her. He wants to appeal to the rascist vote and hope it's enough to get him the win.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
If they prove that statement she if finished. Thats a big if.....
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Oh to have it on audio...we'd be looking at a new running mate right about now...

But if they can find enough people willing to go on record about her racism, you never know. And there still could be something on audio or video somewhere out there...

    Keeping fingers crossed...
  • Wesinoregon · 1 year ago
OH GAWD... What next? LOOK at this one.

John McCain's campaign threatened legal action against the National Enquirer today for running a story about McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, allegedly having an affair with her husband's business partner.

"The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie," said McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Wow! Well, they were spot on with Edwards despite his repeated denials. I'm sure they are not going to take a chance of being wrong on this one. I think the whole key to this story is whatever is in those divorced records they were trying to seal. Usually a divorce related to extramarital activity has a record of who the affair was with.

I still hope it breaks Monday and not this weekend. We need the story to have legs through several news cycles so more people can see it.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Wes, another Oregonian here. I must have put my comment on the post above this one, but Mr. Palin's former business partner, the one whom the NE is investigating for having had an affair with Sarah Palin, made a motion in court to keep his divorce papers away from the public. I forget what the legal term is, but anyway, the good news is that the motion was denied. I got this from Wonkette via Andrew Sullivan.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
I will greatly enjoy it if she has to serve her term in office from a prison cell. Yeah, I know, the reality is if she is convicted of a felony, she can't serve. It would be very typical of a Republcan to find a way to make it possible. They would argue it was a poltical conviction and that the judge was one of the billions of corrupt, Commie, pinko, faggot, N-loving and liberal activist judges appointed by Clinton. And that her crime has no bearing on her ability to objectively carry out her job as veep or even president of this nation. etc., bullshit, etc.

Republicans are innocent after proven guilty. Democrats are guilty even if they've committed no crimes and in fact are enemies of the state who hate Merika and want the terrorists to blow up this nation, what little there is left that the neoNazi Republicans and their fascist corporatist buddies haven't stolen.
  • oh_yeah · 1 year ago
I knew I'd heard that "Sarah Barracuda" reference before, but hadn't put it together with the group Heart's song played after McCain's speech last night - "Barracuda." Wonder if Ann & Nancy agreed to that?

And the high school "shenanigans" with the basketball team, to get in as point guard? Bet a bunch of victims of school "Queens" would nix her on that basis alone!
  • GypsyMan · 1 year ago
Give me a break! This whole Troopergate thing is nothing but a witch hunt—Governor Palin did nothing wrong, the person at fault is Monegan for not firing this maniac state trooper Mike Wooten.

And the person in charge of the investigation, Hollis French, has been exposed as a partisan Democrat Obama supporter who has leaked information damaging to Governor Palin. http://www.notwrightforamerica.com has the details that you won't get from the liberal media, Flopping Aces has a good post on this too.
