AMERICAblog: After Tuesday, Clinton is running in the "superdelegate primary" - or not

  • Stroszek · 1 year ago
I guess the real question is this:

Will Bill keep running after Hillary drops out?

    from the Right:

    I'm Going To Miss Hillary

Apparently Hillary noticed the back-and-forth between McCain and Obama about visiting Iraq:

“I have the highest respect and regard for Sen. McCain, he and I have actually gone to Iraq and Afghanistan together,” she said. “And I honor his service to our country and his patriotism.”

I like the cut of your jib, Senator. You don't just twist the knife; you dip it in lemon juice and salt first.

If her campaign hadn't turned so nasty I would feel sorry for her.

Obviously the writing is on the wall and Obama is the nominee. When you go to the gop.com website it is anti Obama all over their site not a mention of Hillary. So the rethugs know Obama is the Dem candidate. Hillary just can't handle the truth!

Time for Hillary to walk her talk and 'work her heart out for Obama'...
  • Milli · 1 year ago
If she steals this, the Dem Party is dead as we know it.
  • jgm22 · 1 year ago
    this is a little over-dramatic.
  • Milli · 1 year ago
I don't think it is. Hillary is using republican tactics to win. I don't want that crap to become acceptable in the Dem Party. If she wins, she leaves that door open.

The problem for the Clintons is that they cannot play the victim card after next week. Sure they will, but it is useless if you are a victim with no valor. But that was not their point, their point was to use the victim card to get these old Ferraro's on their side (pure demagoguery that Sharpton would be proud of) in order to create pressure on the party to swing her way. Once this thing becomes "official", she will have no other recourse anywhere. Just like in Recount with Harris making the FL vote count "official" basically sunk Gore. And that is why they are trying to keep SD's on the fence as long as possible. But Pelosi will have none of it and good on her. These weaklings make our party look bad.

Boyd Richie, head of the Texas Democratic Party (and a superdelegate) has endorsed Sen. Obama ahead of the Texas Democratic State Convention on June 6th-7th. Mr. Richie's wife is a super delegate as well and is backing Obama.

The timing of Mr Richie's endorsement indicates that the Superdelegates will declare a winner shortly after Tuesday. It is over, Hillary!

I guess Hillary might have a temper tantrum, if she loses the nomination.
After all, she was entitled to the nomination, and how dare they give Obama, the front runner, the one with the best run campaign, the one who has millions in contributions, while she is in debt, the one who has won more states, more delegates, the candidate whose negatives are lower than hers, the fellow democrat who did not embrace McCain over her, the candidate who has shown amazing restraint, when she threw the toilet sink at him,
yes, how dare they give the nomination to HIM.

After all, wasn't she expected to become President.

Damn Bill, he promised her the Presidency too!

The "several busloads" of enraged womyn (according to NPR at noon EST) expected to show up to protest tomorrow will turn the tide for Hillary! The members of the Rules Committee will quake in fear at this demonstration of Crone Power in action!

I never trusted the Clintons ever since they rushed through the whole 'superdelegate' system back in the 90's. It's a corrupt system designed to reward political cronies and corportate sponsors. The fact that the Clintons created this farse in the middle of the night so voters wouldn't know about it says it all. They are completely dishonest slime.

Just watched the clip about Rev. Phlager. Funny as hell. Like a SNL skit. But this time it was true.

Please, don't let Hillary watch the movie "Serenity". Near the end, 7 characters are preparing to hold off a couple hundred well armed homicidal maniacs.

One character asks "Dose anyone think any of us are going to get out of this alive?"

Big dumb guy responds "I might."

They all survive via a rather bizarre plot device. I think she would take it as a sign.

Or, quantum mechanically speaking, all the molecules of milk in the glass could simultaneously deposit themselves on the kitchen counter.

I give up. She should too, after Tuesday.

I think your whole campaign that Hillary is trying to get McCain in the white house is wrong. Do you REALLY believe Hillary will ever run again if she loses now? This is it for her, and I think that's why she's not letting go. If McCain wins and is a one termer - it won't be Hillary running.

I just have a hard time believing that Hillary will concede next week. She sure doesn't sound like a woman on the cusp of throwing in the towel.

Something tells me that it's going to take a while before she heaps any praise in the direction on Obama. I could picture her 'suspending the campaign' without barely a mention of Obama when she does so. That way, she can quietly continue on in a stealth-like manner in hopes that they can pull something out of their ass between next week and the convention.

But until the convention, I don't expect her to actually endorse or actively support Barack because her and Bill will be doing everything they can behind the scenes to steal this thing away.

If Clinton wants to keep moving the goal posts and tout that she's more electable, then the remaining SD's should take a close look at the new Field Poll out here in California. Obama beats Clinton by a huge margin, 51% to 38%. The Field Poll is the gold-standard in polls here in CA. Clinton and her supporters love to brag how she won California but many people don't realize how unpopular she has become here since. Not to mention how many absentee ballots in the state went for Edwards (he dropped out right before our primary and MANY voters had already voted for him; my partner being a perfect example).

If'n she cain't win this, she'll be happy to be Secretary of State . . . in a McCain Administration.
