    Here is some shocking news.

Faux News demands McCain camp remove voice of Major Garrett from attack ad.

    Unbelievable!!!!

  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
McCain's ad has been pulled from the article... you get a "sorry this video is no longer available" message...

I guess youtube pulled it when they got a copy of Fox's cease and desist letter...

Seems like the McCain campaign thinks they are above the law.... this is at least the 6th time they've used material without permission this campaign season...

Obama did a pregame intorduction for Monday Night Football when the Chicago Bears played (the 2006 season they went to the SuperBowl). You can find it on Youtube. As a Bear fan and an Obama fan, it was great. You can tell he thought it was a hoot as well.

Chris, good post...I suggest you update your wording slightly...because I would love to hang out and have a beer with MY grandpa. but I wouldn't want to hang out with someone ELSE'S grandpa.

    Keep up the good fight.
  • Joneses · 1 year ago
I read this before, LOL. Guess it's like having a beer with Dumbo, I mean Bush?

    Memo to Team Obama:
Where's the photo op of Senator Obama in a 50 yd line box, a crowd or a living room watching a football game?
That great moment in the primary debates where he said he'd been watching a football game and not an earlier Republican debate seemed very "have a beer with" to my eyes and I'd like the further payoff of watching this man watching and maybe commenting on a game...and soon.

Obama showed up in Bernalillo (New Mexico) and made an unscheduled stop at the Range Cafe, the local watering hole. Some good friends who also volunteer in the local office got to meet him and have their photo taken with Obama. They were really pumped.

    It was a fantastic experience.

Defintely take Obama to the game, with a few brooskis and summa them big-ass 'We're #1!' foam fingers. Never invite McCain to the game. He annoys everyone in his row by making them get up all the time because he's gotta go pee again.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Plus, he can only raise his foam finger to waist level...

To Team Obama: If, in October, the Cubs make it to the World Series, and the White Sox don't, do not allow Obama, an avowed White Sox fan, to change his allegiance. Remember what team-pandering did for Hillary? Not to mention Joe L.
  • BooHoo · 1 year ago
When Obama came to Columbus in February, he started off with "O-H !", which the crowd of 9000 quickly replyed with "I-O !".

Yeah, Obama knows what is what in the Buckeye state.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Now John, there are plenty of folks that do enjoy hanging out with their grandpas.... But, as in McCain's case, if the grandpa is a nasty, mean, "my way or the highway" type, that can't remember what he's just said and is likely to call you a c^nt if you comment on his hair it makes it a wee bit less likely you'd want to hang around him... unless you enjoyed tweaking him so he'd cuss the wallpaper off the walls...
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
B-B-BUT!!! He can't bowl for shit, so he's not a real, normal American. But, then again, McCain can't bowl, but then he was a brave and heroic POW, who can't lift a bowling ball above his shoulders. I wish there was someone I could vote for who can actually bowl. Hey, does Bob Barr bowl?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
hey, I can't bowl for shit either... but they keep me on the league because they LOVE my handicap... and that I bowl in a kilt ;-)
  • mellowjohn · 1 year ago
why would you need to lift a bowling ball above your shoulders?

on the other hand, john w. mcsame was a pow for over 5 years (did you know that?) and those nasty north vietnamese viet cong wouldn't let him go bowling. that's probably why his game is a little off.

It's not about Grandpa. My mom is eighty-nine, intelligent, well read and an overall great person. I have really enjoyed my mom (and dad's) friends over the years. It saddens me that there's so few of them still alive. I've always been energized by them because they have great experiences to share and they often offer up insightful opinions. Now, granted, they are slower than they used to be. And, yes, that might even mean naps. Or going to bed earlier than they used to. But, even with their various ailments, they are delightful.

Last February I escorted my mom to a 90th birthday party. One of the men had read a book about brains and how old brains were actually good brains. So one of the oldsters piped up with, "then we should all vote for McCain, right?" And one of the younger people (still older than me and I am fifty) said, "We said old brains. Not old thinking." That's a key difference. I know people my age or younger who drag themselves about and kvetch about being "old and decrepit." It's all about attitude. McCain is not engaged with the world. Obama always has been. That's what makes him so appealing. You know that Obama might listen to you. Mcain on the other hand is, figuratively speaking, checking his watch.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Even though I wouldn't watch a football game even if you offered me $1,000 to do so, I must say I agree that this is an important advantage for Obama. McCain is getting creepier by the day.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
this kind of poll worked well for chimpy as well...

who would you rather have a beer with?

what people didn't realize about chimpy is that he'd hog all the beer and be the type of obnoxious drunk that gets loud and dances with a pair of panties on his head before picking a fight with the guy throwing the party and throwing up in the fish tank.

I just saw on Race To The White House..MSNBC...Valerie Jarrett...she is Obama's longest serving advisor.
    She is GEAT....WOW!
    Did the Wiki on her.
She could easily be a Secetarty of State......I was so so impressed with her interview and time with David Gregory.....
I hope Obama now has her out there more often...
I'm glad he kept her hidden till now.
She really really is a great spokesperson for Obama.

I can't tell you how impressed I was with her......she really gave me confidence that I knew Obama is the person who we need right now.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Obama is a regular guy. He plays basketball and has a sense of humor.
McCain plains the lying and crying game and is grumpy, my friends.
  • mellowjohn · 1 year ago
actually, i'd much rather have a beer with obama while sitting right over the left-field bull pan at the cell.

    GO GO WHITE SOX!!!!
  • mellowjohn · 1 year ago
    bull PEN, dammit. bull pen.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
after analyzing the friday state polls, 538 .com is now giving Obama 303.1 electoral college votes. they took virginia away from mccain and gave obama colorado and ohio. they say he now stands better than before the conventions.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I'd rather invite Obama to a NoFX concert...

I think he'd enjoy singing along to the dubya themesong "the idiot son of an asshole"

    :-)
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
Issues, people issues!!!! Lets not take our eye off the ball.

And no, I wouldn't wanna watch football with Obama, I'm not star-struck like a lot of people. I'd probably end up in a heated debate with him and that would ruin everyone's fun trying to watch the game.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
if you watch a game with McCain would you be responsible for changing his diaper, administering meds, and manning the defibrilator?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
cindy keeps stealing the meds... why do you think he seems so out of it lately? she's been substituting over the counter sleeping pills for his Xanax and Vicodin.
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
I am sure there are plenty of 72 year olds out there who would be fun to watch the game with, John McCain just isn't one of them, he is mean and nasty and never seems happy unless he is lying.
And if you watched a football game with McCain first he would say help yourself to the beer then 10 minutes later he would curse you out for drinking his beer and if his team lost then you know he is going to blame you.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    This is good.

Kerry and Gore never passed the "regular guy" test.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    As an aside.

I remember when the Illinois Repubs were trying to talk Mike Ditka into running against Obama.

One of the Chicago papers asked Obama what he'd say to Ditka in a debate.

Obama replied: "I'd ask him why the '85 Bears only won one Super Bowl."

There's also a poll that says people prefer Obama over McCain as their kids' teacher.

    http://news.yahoo.com/page/election-2008-politi...

"People picked the Democrat over Republican John McCain to catch a game with by 50 percent to 47 percent, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll released Friday. Asked which they'd choose to be their child's teacher, Obama was the choice by a more decisive 55 percent to 44 percent, including a markedly stronger performance by the Illinois senator among whites."

And I agree about the Buckeyes. What a heart breaker last Saturday!
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
    Attention Voters:

Next time don't elect an average Joe who you would like to have a beer with.

Elect a President who is intellectually curious, well educated, engaged, detail oriented, and energetic.
  • nothingasitseems · 1 year ago
Alright, I know this has nothing to do with politics, but if you're going to throw Buckeye references out there, bro, then all's fair. At least you can take heart that your beloved Buckeyes aren't the SEC's bitch anymore and are now licking the ass of another conference. It's a little bit of a change up for you. Does that help at all? No? Oh well. GO GATORS! BEAT THE VOLS!!!
  • Plisko · 1 year ago
Here's the thing. Nobody talking about this is EVER going to watch a football game with Barack Obama. His appeal as a football game watcher has no bearing on his office. Our feelings about how "normal" he is have no bearing on how he will perform in office. He is about to be rubbing shoulders with the world elites and deep in discussions with some of the smartest people alive. Being a beer drinkin' football watchin' ordinary guy might actually work against someone at that level.

People really need to get the fuck over themselves and stop entertaining these kinds of questions because this self absorbed thinking in politics is really going to doom us.
