Why was this guy so important? Because he is not just the IT guy who helped engineer voter fraud. He is also the IT guy who helped the White House destroy all their email traffic. That of course would implicate Cheney in criminal, if not treasonous, activity. Connell was not just limited to electoral issues. He was also the IT guy who helped cover Abramoff's tracks.
Connell was starting to break under the pressure and probably would have named names. The evidence against him was just too solid for him to wiggle out. And now... he's dead.
Untimely indeed. The Holy Spirit works in mysterious ways but there are no coincidences.

I'm wondering how much his attorney and his wife knew of his activities? What a horrible xmas present for her and his kids. Surely at least the attorney who might want to increase his security. And what was in the guy's briefcase and overnight bags?
Not to sound too conspiratorial, but I wouldn't be taking any chances...for sure.

My deepest condolences to Mr. Connell's family. It's never good time to suffer such an accident, of course, but it's especially horrid when it's just before Xmas.

I used to be a conspiracy theorist. But then, thanks to all the snarky comments on the blogs, I have seen the light. I am now a coincidence theorist. I now believe that when a series of seemingly random events all line up to benefit one person or one party, they are just a series of amazing -- no, breathtaking -- coincidences.
It's much the same as if you pour a bucket of golf balls down a marble staircase. If you are a Republican, they will, by sheer coincidence, all line up neatly on the fourth step from the bottom.
