The Bush/Cheney regime should be in the midst of impeachment hearings.... Congress really dropped the ball here.
How many more have to die while Bush muddles thru til January.

"I heartily believe that we were living better under the old regime. No one could threaten the Christians then," - Abu Noor, 59, a Christian in Baghdad, missing Saddam.
Is our national prize for "winning" the Iraq war a free and stable Iraq? Really? That's what we have to gain from all this? That is why we severely damaged our economy, our reputation in the world, why 5% of all Iraqis are dead and another 16% are refugees, and why over 5,000 Americas are dead? There aren't many Americans who think that this is worth that...
no one could have imagined a person so ill-equipped to handle national security and international affair issues so poorly could be considered for VP status on the republican ticket

I don't think competence is considered when it comes to the Republican Party.

Norm Coleman: Pay No Attention to the Last Six Years!
“George Bush isn’t on the ballot. He’s (Franken) talking about yesterday and running a race about division. I meant what I said. This is a time for ‘uniters’ and not dividers,” Coleman said.
Coleman better hope voters aren’t interested in holding him accountable for his record in the Senate, because if they are, he is toast. I think Minnesotans are pretty fed up with the lack of accountability in Washington, pretty fed up with the lack of progress in Iraq, pretty fed up with the gifts to Wall Street at the expense of Main Street, just plain fed up.
A Republican saying to forget about the past is like a wife-beater telling his wife to ignore all the broken bones and bruises and think about the future, not even realizing that all she can imagine in the future is more of the same beatings.

From now until November this war should always be referred to as the "Bush/McCain War in Iraq". It should never have happened. It is a moral, ethical, military and financial disaster. The soldiers who have died their have given their lives in vain for a senseless battle waged by a handful of neocon kooks with delusions of grandeur.
Unfortunately, it won't end that easily and I suspect there will be more casualties after a Dem president.

CNN reports that “President Bush is planning to address the nation Thursday morning about the Iraq war,” following two days of congressional testimony by Amb. Ryan Crocker and Gen. David Petraeus. Bush “is expected to discuss the administration’s decision to reduce combat tours of duty from 15 months to 12 months, as well as the future in Iraq.”
Bush thinks anyone cares anymore what he says? The man will say anything but the truth.

In return for Bush passing the presidency to him, McCain will start burying evidence the day he takes office. McCain is Bush's best hope of a clean getaway, President McCain will never allow an investigation into the crimes of this administration.
In return for sucking up to Bush and promising to cover up for him, McCain has the corporate owned media's blessing and no hard questions about anything - including the death and destruction he caused while in the Navy.
I have difficulty understanding people who are comfortable with the deaths of their children. We're sad, they often say, but they died for a noble cause. But . . . no, they did not. They were slaughtered to aggrandize the ambitions of malicious and thoughtless bullies who wear suits and ties and sit in places of power. We've walked right through the mirror into the realm of the Emperor Ming for whom all his subjects are no more than props for his throne. Shades of Flash Gordon!

The Post puts casualties on the last page but gets "liberal media" billing by the bedwettercons
As a Congressional staffer put it, “Here’s something to consider: Although Hillary will be out in May, she may determine the outcome in November. McCain’s secret weapon — among Clinton supporters — may be Hillary’s 3 a.m. national security ad.”

I think the Iraq War should start being referred to as the NeoCon War. After all, it is the finest example of the sheer ineptitude, arrogance, and profiteering that define the NeoCons and all of them should be forced to wear this war as a millstone around their necks.

if it wasn't so ludicus, it would be humorous. the planet's foremost military might takes on an area the size of california and five years on has no better control of the situation than the guy they disposed. i suppose with unlimited resources and an indeterminate amout of time, one drag a civil war on for years while abusing an all volunteer army. bushdick is such a fuckwit,
Congress really dropped the ball here.
