But, I'm glad you are.
You don't sugarcoat it or ignore it like most people.
please don't stop exploring this.....his face has changed.
BUT, it does look like makeup is being used to camouflage whatever is going on eye wise... and yes, it does appear droopier and slower than the other one...
he's curdled like bad milk
Maybe it's simply a Republican genetic defect? McCain should hope for something so harmless.
s l o w l y
I took from your comment about having a "babe" for a president that good looks and "f^ckability" are attributes that YOU deem important...
Those aren't attributes that I look for in a presidential candidate...
Clearly it would be the end of the REPUKE campaign.
Sadly, we wouldn't have BUSHYBOY to kick around anymore,
He would be in some insane asylum, curled up in a fetal position, blubbering his rants like he does here....
Can you find a picture of McCain from 6-12 months ago for comparison.
On the thread below I said his eye appears to be receding into his facial structure. It was very obvious today. The other thing that bothers me is the area in the lower end of his left eyebrow. I watched his face today and tried to pinpoint if that area is swollen OR the result of scar tissue from a previous melanoma excision. I wish I had taken a picture but there is something definitely wrong in that left eyebrow area. Also, I know that his lower left jaw area is way more noticeable this year than last year. Other people have noticed this and a litany of reasons why without any definite medical explanations. In addition his speech is at times very constricted due to his not opening his mouth in a normal manner. It is as if something is preventing him from being able to open his lips.
It would not be unreasonable for someone to call for a complete exam before this guy goes to national election.

""I was looking at the Sturgis schedule, and noticed that you had a beauty pageant, so I encouraged Cindy to compete. I told her [that] with a little luck, she could be the only woman to serve as both the First Lady and Miss Buffalo Chip." --on the annual Miss Buffalo Chip Pageant, which features topless (and occasionally bottomless) contestants, Sturgis, South Dakota, Aug. 4, 2008"

Freaky!!!
The melanoma is getting to his iris, his brain, the blood flow??
DANGER!!! DANGER!!!
So it begs the quesiton, what happens if mcfool has to drop out?
Surly they REPUKES would not let palin be their candidate??
Surely they would pick someone else as the leading candidnate??
Bloomberg? Huckabee? The Govenator???
I was hardly bloviating. I was writing a thesis on The History of Human Development. You are one paragraph of it, titled: Neanderthal They Still Exist!

Actually, I think it could be deep-seated fatigue, or drugs.
Meant to be this way? I think not. The idea that someone as much of a novice as Palin would become President is horrendous and IF that is the way it is meant to be, than we are all doomed.
A dry eye on the affected side because you are unable to blink.
Tearing in the affected eye.
Pain behind the ear on the affected side of the face, which may occur a day or two before the paralysis begins.
Increased sensitivity to sounds.
Drooling because you may not be able to close your mouth completely.
A dry mouth and problems swallowing because you make less saliva.
A decreased ability to taste, especially at the tip of your tongue.
The paralysis is likely to become worse for the first couple of days, then gradually get better. In most cases, all symptoms are gone within 2 months.
A number of other conditions, such as stroke or Lyme disease, can also cause facial weakness and paralysis."
http://www.webmd.com/brain/tc/bells-palsy-symptoms
To quote the American speech-language-hearing association at http://www.asha.org/public/speech/disorders/Rig...
Damage to the right hemisphere of the brain leads to cognitive-communication problems, such as impaired memory, attention problems and poor reasoning. In many cases, the person with right brain damage is not aware of the problems that he or she is experiencing (anosognosia).
This would explain WAY too many things that have been going on in the McCain campaign recently. The mixing up of Shiite and Sunni, choosing Palin as a running mate, and the near-incoherent attempt to withdraw from the debate on Friday.
What did McPalin mean by "suspending" their campaign? Was a time frame specified? Days? Weeks?
This seems even more important (and ridiculous) in light of these pics. Is he experiencing a health crisis, covered by his excuse of the economic crisis?
LOL

Does the wolf killing lady automatically become the candidate?
Scary thoughts...
Has it happened before that a candidate had to be replaced?
Any historians in the house?

He probably didn't see those movies as he was in Vietnam then and they were a tad countercultural but I bet he could get them from netflix and see them the next couple of days 'cause he won't be campaigning?
He may even recover a bit from the fatigue he doubtless is suffering from. Seriously - It looks to me like he is suffering from real fatigue, exhaustion, whatever, and something he hasn't felt for real for so long (save for when he was in Vietnam) - Fear. And disorientation. Powerlessness. Pressure. These wear on anybody and especially one like him. Looks like fatigue and residual injury to nerves by that most recent operation. - I am NOT a Doctor, but I do care for my parents who have alzheimer's and I have seen it's slow progression, and - to me - McCain does not seem to be exhibiting the signs together with any consistent severity - It is a hard call even for a professional, but my 2 cents says not yet. Small strokes are also dicey to diagnose though would be detectable via CAT scan as easily as alzheimer's is impossible. Residual old alcohol abuse and / or trauma to the head (AKA being "punch drunk") likely. As is side-effects from on or off label use of any number of medications, more likely... Good thing we have his full medical report so we know what he's taking, just like Bush.
Then there's the big 1000 pound Melanoma laying there in the middle of the room. Good chance that "IIa" (IIb at least) lesion metastasized. Melanomas do like the brain. They don't care how toxic the thoughts are of the mind attached to it. And they are REALLY fast attacking when they do. Just so folk are reminded - Melanoma does NOT behave like the cancer Kennedy has. His is slow, contained, even a bit treatable. His prognosis is predictable. There is a high probability of many (all things considered) months of full functionality for him. The only predictable thing about the end-stage of Melanoma when it starts to accelerate growth in the brain is swift onset of complete disability. Like three months to six months. Dementia common at four. It is really hard to say, but it isn't something you can argue with, it just IS, and then you're dead.
A much younger much missed relative of mine died of it just this way - though he held on longer - it is not a fate I would wish on anyone certainly not McCain. But on the other hand he must at least intellectually know all this - and still he sticks us with Moose-for-brains. Deeply, deeply irresponsible, unconscionable, UNAMERICAN. It would almost retroactively justify his fate, if that's the way things did work.
We're screwed.
Please stay on top of this, John. We need to get the MSM asking what's wrong with his eye.
The speculations included botox, minor stroke, melanoma metastasized to the brain, and Bell's palsy. The ones on the ends aren't horrific news. The others ....
We really, really need to see McCain's medical records.
I've been watching that eye.
http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/
I didn't think much of it though.
Many (most?) people over age 65 have had strokes and don't know it. They only find out if they get an MRI. And most don't show signs such as droopy eyes, one side of the body drooping, etc. This would also explain McCain's constant changes in position. Yes, some are deliberate, but come on! Saying the polar opposite a mere 2 weeks/2 months later? It's a stroke.
And what happens when you have a stroke is you DO have signs, although with most people, it isn't noticable. Everyone has friends/femily who are older. They seem a tad forgetful, or they forget words, or other symptoms. No biggie. Yeah, but they aren't running for the most important job in the world. (And McCain's backup is a total moron.)
Strokes are weird. I had mine young -- the first, rather minor one in 1998. Then the big one in 2003. When I first had it, my words were all mixed up. I would think I was saying, "I want a drink" and what would come out was "My cat is hungry." Everything was completely assy-backward. You KNOW what you want to say, but the words don't come out right. I can just imagine if I had been meeting with China at that time!
And no, with either of my strokes (and others I might have had), were my eyes droopy. Different stroke victims have different signs/symptoms. But look at Cheney -- his left side droops, too. Why do you think his mouth is so weird?
- Emotional instability, rapid emotional changes
- Memory loss, impaired judgment, calculating deficiencies
- Personality changes
- Pupils of eyes are a different size
- Vision changes -- double vision, decreased vision
- Weakness of a body area
I have had this before. It blew out not only my eye, but the whole left side of my face. My eye drooped for about a year afterwards.
They're going to ask Obama's patience for their GOP do-over.
Then they'll come out, say McCain has had a severe medical setback (stoke, brain tumor, recurrance of cancer), and that the second string is coming in to play.
Honestly, McCain won't be in DC until today and it sounded from Boehner and Frank's offices that a deal is mostly done, and he knew (everyone on the hill knew that a deal was close) he knew that yesterday when he gave his droopy-eyed presser -- and then went on with couric and ditched letterman.
McCain's forehead muscles also look paralyzed (look at his left eyebrow). I don't have access to movies of McCain, but he may not be able to wrinkle the left side of his forehead or lift up the left eyebrow if the temporal branch was resected and not successfully repaired.
Here is an anatomic diagram of the facial nerve, if you are interested:
http://www.face-and-emotion.com/dataface/anatom...
Also, is it just me or did the bottom of his face look like it was sort of deteriorating? $5000 makeup artists can't solve everything...
It did occur to me that he might be putting his campaign on hold because of serious illness, as there was no particular reason to do so, say, the day before, only several days before...
But seriously, there is a definite asymmetry to Sen. McCain's face. You almost never see him photographed or videoed head on because that would REALLY emphasize it. He usually tries to position himself so he is caught from his right side. I have been wondering for a while if he had had a stroke. My grandmother had a series of "mini" strokes that left her face asymmetric. It was not major paralysis on one side, but there was a definite "slumping" of the features on one half of her face.
Please – Please get the news stations to discuss this, CNN, Fox, MSNBC
Somebody needs to point this out!
What happened to Fair & Balanced News or The Facts??
Just this morning I saw a photo on the cover of the NY Daily News.
www.nydailynews.com
Look at the photo asking if he's brilliant or bonkers.
His eyes are not centered-maybe due to some pressure in his brain-I don't know.
I am sorry for him if something bad is going on-but we can't have this happen to us.
Have you all signed the letter demanding he release his medical records? You don't have to be a Dr to sign.

GROOOOOOOOSSSSSSS!!!
Poor guy. Seems like he's falling apart in more ways than one.

Yeah, a wife should be supportive - but omnipresent?
On the day McCain asked Palin to be his VP, why did Cindy meet with her before McCain did?
I've wondered for a while if there's a health problem they're hiding. Maybe it's something temporary they don't want to interfere with the election. Maybe not. It just reminds me somewhat of Eleanor and FDR.
Really, I sincerely do not intend, or want, to start a baseless rumor. It's only that the constant presence of someone close has made me wonder and I'd like to know if I'm the only one who finds it odd.
I noticed the eye the other night and the first thought I had was that it did not look like Bell's Palsy. Bell's palsy usually presents with the lower eyelid and side of the face drooping (in my experience), and often the affected eye waters uncontrollably. His eye reminded me of a medical school presentation of something called Horner's syndrome in which the upper and lower eyelid can close slightly and the eye looks sunken. The side of the face stops sweating. It is an ominous syndrome because it can be associated with a lung tumor called Pancoast tumor. Were I his doc, I'd recommend a head MRI to look for signs of a CVA, and a lung CT with and without contrast ASAP. I think the idea that it is a symptom related to previous facial surgery is decent, but likely the problem would have been present within a few months after the surgery in 2002 or so. I hope the best for John McCain.
I looked it right now: http://tubedirect.net/index.php?q=McCain-health...
Interesting that the Republicans will take?
What is a TIA or transient ischemic attack?
A TIA is a "warning stroke" or "mini-stroke" that produces stroke-like symptoms but no lasting damage. Recognizing and treating TIAs can reduce your risk of a major stroke. What are the symptoms of a TIA?
It's very important to recognize the warning signs of a TIA or stroke. The usual TIA symptoms are the same as those of stroke, only temporary:
* Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
* Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
* Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Most strokes aren't preceded by TIAs. However, of the people who've had one or more TIAs, more than a third will later have a stroke. In fact, a person who's had one or more TIAs is more likely to have a stroke than someone of the same age and sex who hasn't.Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA)
