AMERICAblog: AP and CNN weigh in on McCain thinking Spain is in Latin America

  • BarbaraGordon · 1 year ago
I am waiting for the cable talk shows to have the geriatric specialists on to discuss senile dementia and age-related mind and memory issues. Has McCain ever had a CAT scan of his brain so that we can see if he has suffered any minor strokes?

After all, Trig Palin led to blowhards discussing special needs children. It is only appropriate that we allow the mental health specialists to weigh in.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
I've read the observations of a retired forensic psychiatrist who clearly stated that McCain is mentally unfit for office. Yes, it would be very incisive to have a panel of mental health professionals comment upon the displayed McCain characteristics. That is why we will NEVER see the full McCain medical or military records. NEVER! The MSM will NEVER have such a panel for reasons which have become clear.

Did you notice that they edited out the part where McConfused says "What about me, what?" This sounded very much like an OLD man not in full control of his thoughts and really stood out during the interview. I wonder why they edited it out? Maybe you can highlight the fact that this was done to avoid making McConfused sound even more confused than he sounds in the rest of the interview.

Are there countries outside of the U.S.?

Palin doesn't know and McCain can't remember!

Perfect then, there you have the ideal Republican candidacy. Tweedle dee, and tweedle grumpy.

Expect this within an hour or two from Schmidt and/or Wallace: Why is Obama "cheerleading" this "controversy"?
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
Someone should ask McCain if he approves of zapatos.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
What does one expect from a person who graduated near the very bottom of his class?! This is not an intelligent man and the chance of him becoming the leader of the US is very scary indeed. What makes it worse is that his VP is in the very same boat of average to low intelligence.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
WHICH OF THEM IS THE BIGGEST LIAR? ONE MAY NOT EVEN REMEMBER YESTERDAY'S LIES. These are the appropriate poll questions. McSame/Palin = ANOTHER REPUBLICAN DISASTER FAR GREATER THAN EVEN BUSH/CHENEY!
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
Both, McBush and Palin are batting a thousand.

Do you get the sense that McGaffe's staff spends all day cleaning up his nonsense? They must be shaking their heads..thinking..OK, what crazy thing did the old man say today.

Dear god. McCain is living in a parallel universe. I can't tell if it's just me, because I cannot be objective.....but is he really sounding completely insane? The only thing missing from that answer was POW.

    RETIRE WITH SOME RESPECT INTACT

It is a nonpartisan observation to say that, based upon regular daily observations of McCain's behavior and statements, that he is clearly unfit for any office in government let alone the highest one. Even the Republicans recognize this and have said so. Can voters be fooled for a THIRD TIME ?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
There's an old saying in Tennessee,--I know it's in Texas, prolly in Tennessee, that says, fool me once, shame on--shame on you. Fool me--you can't can't get fooled agin. Fool me a third time, well, I'm just a dumbfuck, I guess...

Is it possible that they are medicating John McCain to keep his anger in check and that's the problem here?

Because he's just falling apart in front of us.

I would say it's a shame that a war hero has to go through this in public, but no one forced him to run for President.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
more and more, it sounds like McCain didn't understand and just lumped all the Spanish sounding names together and tried to wing it...

not the right stuff. he either doesn't have the capacity or the basic intellectual curiosity for the job. he wasn't even prepared for a radio interview, for cripes sake.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
again.....it's like meeting with the governor of Wisconsin or the prime minister of Canda for god sake....what the hell is McCain talking about???

Mexico????/ Well I guess all those carmel colored people are all the same......according to McSame.
  • barts · 1 year ago
I can see the fun: Palin can see Russia from her back window ("I'd swear you could see it if'n you look hard enough over that hill next to that dead moose..." as she pulls away the kitchen curtains) and McCain wants to meet with the Spanish President to finish the border fence along his home state AZ.

Now just get your reading glasses out and see if Zapatero sent you one of those texas messages on your raspberry.

How many fingers am I holding up, Mr. McCain? Take your time.....

Wonder what time of the day this interview was held. He seems to do fairly well when giving his stump speeches earlier in the day. If this was later in the afternoon or evening, it could be "sundowning" a symptom of dementia. Could make for some very entertaining debates.
  • Captain_America · 1 year ago
I think that CNN coverage is pretty bad. They don't point out why McCain's statements are so ridiculous, especially in full context. Then at the end of the interview they shift it to Obama. Just ridiculous reporting from CNN (aka Fox-lite) as usual.
  • samiinh · 1 year ago
Why is McCain considered to be a war hero. He was at the bottom of his class at Annapolis; he downed five planes; he made propaganda films for the VC; and yes, he was a POW, but there were many others who were also POWs. I don't get it, and I don't understand how that experience qualifies him to be POTUS.

The only thing worse than watching mccain implode, is watching rick sanchez ...... unless it's the video of him getting voluntarily tasered.
  • clytemnestra · 1 year ago
McCain added, when that was pointed out: "I am willing to meet with any leader who is dedicated to the same principles and philosophy that we are for human rights, democracy and freedom and I will stand up to those that do not."

So when is McCain going to stand up to Pres. Bush??

    waiting

    waiting

    waiting

Aw, stop picking on McCain for not knowing where Spain is. It's not like he can see Spain from any of his 12 houses.
  • akryan · 1 year ago
CNN didn't mention McCain's previous pledge to meet with spain either. They said they've been reading the blogs. The blogs have been bringing up that point all day. Why did CNN omit it?
  • bahhab · 1 year ago
"He had been asked, however, about a leader outside the hemisphere."

While I totally agree he thought he was speaking about a Latin American country, Spain, technically, is in the hemisphere.
