Someone (don't remember if it was here) yesterday described Rethug efforts as desiring a sort of American Idol effect...a reality show pulse of absurd fan drama. This is why the Rethug argument has been essentially jibberish...It is the character arc of the reality drama which doesn't really depend on the person but rather the "personality", sex and employment category seasonally filling the slot. As I'm proud to say I've never watched a reality show (except as a personal favor I watched 5 minutes of some cheap cheerleader school reality show using my college cheerleader dentist as a judge...made me shudder but it was totally him). Anyhow, as I've not watched these shows, I'm thinking I'm immune to this Rethug attempt at a reptilian brain PR coup de etat...but who knows. The demand for Sarah to answer questions by the national press must become a background chant at rallies and the focus of blogswarm.

Forget Palin, get McCain the master to answer questions. No one expects her to know shit. while we sit around waiting to come out and play, McCain skates by. Go after McCain every day. When we are asked why we won't cover or discuss Palin the answer is simple--She is a nothing, nada, zilch, zero. No point in debating with someone who admitted she didn't even know what a VP does. Well he did but by allowing the republicans and their servants to frame the election around Palin who is a throw away in terms of dealing with the issues we never get to draw McCain out into the playing field. They cry foul, sexist, etc. Instead let's ask McCain continually to discuss his differences from Bush/Cheney, not just let him say he will change things since he voted for all the Bush plans for the war spending, de regulation, etc., etc. and we need to point out again and again that it McCain who voted for these failures. Palin will be caught up in her inability to explain what will change. I will say that Rove is a motherfucker but brilliant in that bringing a female in on there side was unexpected. But we must be firm, agressive and brook no lies and bullshit from their side. They must be called on it every day of the week. I want to see the Womens groups brought into this to talk about how McCain/Palin will take away all of their rights and turn the clock back 50 years in terms of the where the Women's Movement is now.

McCain is suggesting people work in his administration for $1 per year, but remember he voted for congressional pay raises.
"Congressional Pay Raise of 2005- He felt he'd earned a little raise after 28 years, so that's fine."
And the GOP is strategizing all they can to make it an (overexposed) Obama vs. (underexposed) Palin race. The McCain campaign wants to use the 58 days left to strategically roll her out, as a new product, while Obama's shelf-life will have expired.

Don't underestimate Palin. She is backed by shadowy, scary, and powerful people. The conservative sheep are developing a narrative around her and they don't really want to have any facts to confuse them. They will be content to suck on the propaganda being fed them. Her appearance in only scripted and protected venues is just fine with them. The only ones it bothers are people who aren't going to vote for her anyway.

I was just watching McCain being interviewed. He admits that Paulson told him the takeover of fanniemaie and freddie mac will cost billions. He went on to say that when the housing market comes back the first people paid back will be the American taxpayers. Those "your anchor team loves you" promos of a type that still run today and that Daily Show mocks so well. The reality show approach needs a reality show push back...Everybody else takes questions and why not Sarah just like everyone has to perform for the judges on American Idol...super high stakes with dependence on the corporate crowd of gasbag patsies, tho...A star maker 4 sur... PS-Best push back with ordinary people...you know from small towns...a negative rally encounter that could be played up big. Come on, ordinary America...Do YOU wanna BE famous????
