AMERICAblog: AP has picked up the "McCain doesn't know how many homes he owns story"

  • davidkc · 1 year ago
John, you should remind folks of the google tour video of McCain's residences that JedReport did:

Expect this: "How DARE the addresses of the McCain homes be made public! Do you want the terrorists, who HATE the American Dream, to attack our next President and a brave former POW where he lives? This information must be suppressed by Homeland Security immediately!"
  • tommytoonz · 1 year ago
It's a good a meme but I'll only be impressed if 2 things happen: One, 5 days from now Dems are still hitting McCain about this and two, not a single Democrat goes on the TV and says "I think this is kind of a petty argument but..." and downplays it before it has a chance to gain traction. I've never seen SO many Dems shoot down good or effective lines of attack against a Repub as I have this campaign season.

That second one is SO TRUE.........arghhhhh!
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
It’s this whole "same cast of characters" thing...There were several thumb suck stories about possible Secretaries of State from either party this week that were brim full of 911 boobs and other failures and examples of high end nepotism.
How many inside the Beltway F’s are required before the usual suspects are no longer mentioned "as brilliant"?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    To be honest:

I don't think McCain has any clue about his family's finances.

The Creepy Old Guy is sponging off his wife, after all.

(Kind of surprised she doesn't know, but she probably buys and sells them all the time, depending on her whims.)
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Though, I know he got out of the Keating Five thing by putting his dirty dealings under Cindy's name.

So he must have some idea what's going on there.

And Cindy has refused to release her financial records, so you know there's a lot of dirt there still to find.

President John "Seven, Eight or Nine Homes" McCain
  • AngryOne · 1 year ago
Eight years ago, then Governor George W. Bush revealingly joked about his backers at the 2000 Al Smith Dinner. "This is an impressive crowd - the haves and the have-mores," Bush said, adding, "Some people call you the elites; I call you my base." With his own quip Saturday night that "$5 million" is his definition of rich" and his uncertainty today over how many homes he owns, John McCain made no mistake that he is Bush's natural heir.

    For the gold-plated details, see:
"The Haves, the Have Mores and John McCain."

I think this one might stick. You know what would be the icing on the cake: an ad ending with his $570 shoes. Talk about being "out of touch" with ordinary Americans. People would remember those shoes, just like Edwards and his expensive haircuts. It sounds petty, but these things do stick in people's minds.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
    $520 I believe, not $570.
  • 4dogs · 1 year ago
You're right his shoes were $520.

    John

Shame on you, don't you know rich people lose track of their stuff? How many pairs of shoes do you own? See! lol His homes are like our shoes.
Seriously, this coupled with Iraq and Bush agreeing on a time table, along with the new framed attack that McCain is a hot head will change the poll numbers. It is good to see that Camp Obama has heeded your call to become aggressive. This is the start of a new day!
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
Its never fair to ask a gay man how many pairs of shoes he owns.

    :-)
  • 4dogs · 1 year ago
The other thing that should be jumped on right NOW is his agreeing with that woman and the draft. McCain loves war, and one is never enough. Now he thinks a draft might be in order. This should be made into an ad immediately. It's a gift that will keep on giving.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I just wish a reporter could have caught Mccain by surprise, and asked him about this ad when he was in front of a live microphone.

    Meltdown city.

Keep jabbing at him, Team Obama. Don't let up. McCain is crazy as a loon and he's going to crack.
  • Milli · 1 year ago
You see, media, it IS fun to slam McCain. Good doggies.....
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
has he paid the taxes on his house in La Jolla yet? or is it going to be sold at auction?

so hard keeping track of state taxes when you own so many homes.
  • gaiilonfong · 1 year ago
McCone knows how many houses he has...he just didn't want to say...now the story is worse......bwaahahahaha

I wonder if he lets Queeny Lindsay Graham bring his male leather hustlers to any of his homes....betcha he does!
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Wonder if this hurts Mitt's chances?

Last thing McCain needs is another rich guy on the ticket.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
    Ah, Good Point.

    "another" rich guy.

Great talking point....." Oh, McCain picked Romney...."another" rich guy."

    LOL

Expect this: "How DARE Barack Obama, who lives in a HUGE house in Chicago (big, bad city!) worth more than $1.65 million dollars, and which he got through crooked dealings with Tony Rezko, engage in class warfare against a noble, heroic former POW who deserves a good life after all the torture he was subjected to by Godless Communists, who HATE the American Dream!"
  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
    It's coming...
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    That's it...

I'm having a t-shirt made 'Goddless homosexual communist who hates the American Dream'

I'll wear it at the next protest when mcsame passes through town.

eithe that or my "I'm a saucy boozehound" one.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
I forgot: some of McCain's torturers were homosexual, but they never made a move on him. Phew!
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Just one of McCain's condos is worth $4.6 million.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Architectural Digest spread on one of McCain's lesser homes (ie., not a primary residence):

Here's a great yard sign to make:

    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9?
How many homes does John McCain own?

People were outraged when Bush 1 didn't know the price of a gallon of milk. It was a turning point for the Clinton campaign.

McCain not knowing how many residences he has is beyond comprehension. If this doesn't get through to voters, letting them know who the real elite are, nothing will.

    LIBERAL MEDIA!! HE'S A POW!

Maybe he should have asked his wife. She's the one that owns them.

This is where Obama should run it in the dirt. Don't worry about the fall out! How can McCAin understand the state of the economy when he can't fathom his own?

By the way--I'll have my staff get back to you.
  • JustAnOldLady · 1 year ago
Yeah, "the staff will get back to you" comment should be hammered on without mercy.........
  • JustAnOldLady · 1 year ago
Obama has to stop being Mr. Nice Guy and throw this stuff back at McCain and KEEP THROWING IT BACK WITHOUT MERCY........... maybe the American people will start to feel like they're being made fools of............and fools they be if they vote for McCain (unless they make $5 MILLION)..........
  • missmarple · 1 year ago
My daughter, through no fault of her own is, like thousands of others, facing foreclosure and he doesn't know how many houses he has!! He is either senile or totally out of touch with regular Americans. How can the middle class vote for this man when really all he has going for him is his opposition to abortion by the Right Wing who at the same time want to cut off a woman's access to Birth Control. As I said when Bush was running " Be Careful What You Wish for". The same thing applies to McCain who has lost his soul in the pursuit of the White House.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08...

hit him back on the economy. Hammer it home. And just why does McCain have to ask his staff how many houses he has? If you ask him something about his policies….will he have to check with them too. OK whose day is it to baby sit Johnny?
