AMERICAblog: AP Investigation: Palin got zoning aid, gifts

  • Chipmaker · 1 year ago
Passing around salmon in Alaska is like giving away zucchini to the neighbors in the lower 48. Sometimes you have so much you just leave it on doorsteps and hope they don't find out it was you.

Not defending Palin, just the cultural practice.

I didn't realize somebody with so little experience could be so corrupt.

And, by the way, I read an article today that says her crowning achievement--that pipeline--probably won't happen for many years if at all.

They didn't bother to clear things through Indian Nations in Canada, who can and will tie it up in court for years.

So, she has a "pipeline to nowhere" to go with her "bridge to nowhere."
  • grandma · 1 year ago
and the 'road to nowhere' ....tho that was built

CNN Exposes Palin's "Road To Nowhere"

The "Road To Nowhere" is a 3 mile long stretch of road leading to where the bridge would have been had Congress not killed funding for it in 2005. The price tag for the road? $26 million dollars. And nobody uses it.

John, I think focusing on the McCain / Davis relationship would be more productive... They've got quite the little scam going.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Oh hell, I 'll add to the Palin crap. I was at the store and since there was a long line I grabbed the National Enquirer to pass the time. Seems like they have more than enough proof that Palin DID have an affair with first dude Todd's best friend. It is the reason the business broke up. Enquirer is not going to give up on this story, they didn't give up on Edwards and I think the same is going to happen to Palin.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Digby has a post on it:

Indeed, not a single blog I read regularly nor any mainstream news source has reported that the National Enquirer is so confident they would win a libel suit that they have named Sarah Palin's alleged lover.

    I don't think I'll mention it either.

I "heard" that "allegedly poor little trig is the cuckolder's son. Now I am just "saying".
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Wow! You did?? You need to call the Enquirer so they can demand DNA tests (snark)

Confession time: I have to admit; I was at the grocery store today, replenishing stuff lost in Ike, and I was standing in line and saw the Enquirer with the "Palin's Secret Lover" headline and then the Globe headline of "Cindy McCain Hooked on Drugs". So in order to kill time in line, I took a stack of each and put it at the front of every magazine on display in the line....

    Ooops, my bad...

    LOL, good for you!

I wonder if Sarah Palin's an expert on our sun? After all she's been able to see it from her house all her life. I bet she'd be able to say alot about this terrific southern limb solar prominence recorded this morning:

    OT

McCain has ranted about earmark reform yet his biggest and loudest supporter, Lindsey Graham was cornered about his own earmark requests by none other than Chris Wallace. Graham says he has been part of the problem and now wants to be part of the solution. So in addition to McCain's lobbyists his most vocal supporters are also earmark recipients like Palin and Graham.

Isn't this the whole McCain campaign in a nutshell? After 26 years, especially the last 7, he has been part of the problem and NOW, just NOW wants to tell the American people that HE can CHANGE.

Fox's News Site Pulls A Story

Guess which one? Conservatives questioning Palin's heft. The reason of Kathleen Parker is too much for Fox readers to handle, apparently.

Jeez, someone gave her a salmon? Was it fileted out? Skin still on? I'd rather have the $122,000.00 that Fannie and Freddie gave to Obama.... Just sayin...
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
I think "gave her a salmon" is a metaphor...
  • woodroad34 · 1 year ago
Well, of course she takes stuff. Look what she took from the "First Dude's" partner. I wonder if she wrote him a lovely little note.

And now this from Sarah...SILVERMAN--Sarah Silverman! This from Sarah Silverman and The Great Schlep: http://www.thegreatschlep.com/site/index.html

Well, well, well. So Gov. Palin is one of the "good old boys." Why am I not surprised?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    "Good old boys"....with lipstick...
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
So Caribou Barbie turns out to be yet another lying, on-the-take republican.

    Color me surprised.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Oh, God; I see she got a facial too. That's it! She's in the tank for lesbo masseuses and the salmon lobby. Lord help us....
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
Here is who "gave her the salmon"

I am not surprised that Palin is not the gal who stood up to the good ole boys. She also enjoyed the extra perks, that came with her job. It is the hypocrisy and the lies that get to me.
Her alleged affair, teenage daughter pregnant, she eloped and had her baby at 8 months, there are too many things to keep track of, and it really does not bother me, but it is the fact that her religious base, who usually criticizes the liberals of loose morals etc., has embraced Mooselini, and want her as the shiny example of conservatism in the WH, amazes me.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Since you have no morals? What is it that bugs you about Sarah?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
edit: posted in the wrong place...
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Are Christians the only ones with morals, Busboy? If so, and if Palin is the poster child for Christianity and morality, you can keep them.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I guess they aren't the only ones. There's always "Sharia Law". You get the rope, I'll get the tree. Someone bring the stones......
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
    Sounds pretty biblical to me.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
they tell each that as Christians they will be persecuted....
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Did she get the "Silver Dildo" award from David Letterman?
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Pretty sure he's been giving that one to McCain...
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
Sleep Around Sarah seems to have a lot in common with other famous serial adulterers, such as John McCain for example.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
I guess they are both real Mavericks!
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
So that's what a maverick is!
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
How many times do you have to do it for it to become "serial"?
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
I understand your anger over Sleep Around Sarah's illicit sexual trysts. I was merely making the point that it is yet another attribute that she shares with McCain. That being a lying, filthy republican devoid of any sense of honesty and respectability.
    That was all.
  • Dexter07 · 1 year ago
Your getting petty here bringing up flowers and facials. What matters most is that Mrs Palin is unqualified for the job and GOD I hope the American people can see what a disaster our country will have to deal with if she gets it! But I feel she isn't a bad person or an idiot, she just is not a good choice to be vp. Attack her on her being unqualified but not on her personality... She's not an AWFUL person just not a good vp
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
I dunno. Her brand of "values" seems to produce broken families and teenage pregnancies. Says a lot about her true character.
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
I disagree- taking gifts /bribes as an elected official is illegal. and shows that this bitch thinks she's above the law. i also disagree that she's not a bad person or an idiot-she's both.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Hey, wasn't it Kerry who lost the election because he closed down a jetport runway while he got a haircut? Hmmm, or was that Gore?......
