AMERICAblog: AP: Palin/McCain using their own kids more than the media

  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    McCain to Levi:

"Heh, heh.....I left a few surprise packages myself......heh."
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
hahahahaha! probably preceeded with "Back in my day......"
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
    Kids are not the issue.

Republicans have blown their chance over the last 7 years. They controlled White House, Senate, and House, and ALL the indicators have gotten worse.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yeah, that's why they want to make this the issue.

What else have they got besides the victim card?
  • dad · 1 year ago
    same. old. republican.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
I can see that MCain and the rethugs are making this all about the nasty, liberal, media, and how badly they are treating poor Sarah Palin. They are even crying "sexism". Of course many people can see that this is just a ploy.
That gun toting, hunter, who stands up to bullies, can surely handle this one?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
The Repubs are all becoming such feminists these days, huh?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
John McCain is WEAK. He couldn't even name the VP candidate he wanted!!! He is weak!!!
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
That's a good point that doesn't get brought out enough.

He did what his advisors told him rather than what he believed was the best choice for the country.

I'll bet Rove and his henchmen spent more time coaching the TV mouthpieces about what a monumental oratorical masterpiece Palin delivered than they did coaching her on the speech they wrote.

    You CANNOT trust the Republicans.

Bush said he'd be a uniter, not a divider. . . . . We are MORE divided than anytime in history.

Bush said 'Democracy is beautiful." . . . . Yet he has been whittling away our civil liberties, used dirty Rove tricks to affect the vote. Bush has bullied the press.

McCain has flipped his position on numerous issues simply to pander to voters. There is NO integrity with this man. He will say what you want to hear, and then, like our current "UNITER" and "LOVER OF DEMOCRACY" McCain will stab working Americans in the back to help a few wealthy businesses and privileged individuals.

    :(

Voters: YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!

And notice the big make-over Levi had from his Facebook appearance and persona. Imagine Stewie Griffin's voice: Not an effin' redneck, now, are ya, boy? We're gonna kick YOUR effin' ass now, and there's nothing you can do about it, ya big bullshitter!

On using children for political gain, let's not forget the story related by Cindy McCain about being "asked" by Mother Theresa to adopt a baby girl from Bengladesh.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Aren't you supposed to throw the kitchen sink the weekend BEFORE the election?

This what makes me think Bush will invade Iran the end of October.

What are the media in France and Germany saying about Palin?
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
    In France, they're saying 'Qui?'

I guarantee you that neither Russia nor Canada has ever heard of her either, and they share 'important international borders.'
  • Gridlock · 1 year ago
Yeah, I can say that 90% of Canada is praying to whatever non-specific, non-denominational PC deity and/or karmic power that Obama is elected. The other 10% are from Alberta.. cattle, oil, bibles and boredom. Alberta is the Texas of Canada, really. Besides them, we've been sighing and shaking our heads at America for the last 8 years, trying to keep our citizens from being extraordinarily rendered like that one poor soul.

It is IRONIC to see Carly Fiorina, the disgraced and fired CEO of Hewlett Packard, saying that McCain will keep jobs in the U.S.

Carly Fiorina helped ship tons of jobs -- QUALITY JOBS -- overseas!!

    DISGRACEFUL, HYPOCRITICAL.

Is anyone watching the convention? I think the audience there is on life support.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I'm not. I don't want them to have any ratings
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
My thoughts exactly and I'm not even a ratings house
  • Milli · 1 year ago
They are bombing. The speeches are averaging 5 minutes each and the reaction from the audience is pretty tepid considering we're supposed to be excited about McCain and his beauty queen. The energy is nothing like the Dem convention - the applause and cheers aren't that generous (even amid the lame chants of USA USA). I think the average age of audience members is 50 and over. They are smiling and dancing to the musical intermissions but I think they've been hitting the bottle a little too much.

    Here comes Huckabee
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I make three. I don't want them to be able to say that Palin had more viewers or challenged Obama's acceptance speech.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
I'm gonna have a cocktail so I can stomach watching Sarah's "Speech".

ahhhh hI'm going to throw myself a little schadefreude party.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I can't watch it....I just got a new TV and plasma screens don't repel bricks very well.

But a guy in the office who's neither a Democrat or a Repub said he was watching it last night and said "now I can see why they call it the Grand OLD Party."
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
We can talk about Palin's children all we want as long as the talk is how good a job she has done as a working mother and PTA guru in raising them. Anything else is dirty politics, sexism, elitism, and meanness.
Damn, I wish I could control feedback that way.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
This is bogus in so many ways. Where are the supposedly strict Evangelical pastors who have repeatedly condemned out-of-wedlock sex? Where is the approbation? Where is the scandal?

Either they stick to their religious moral principles FOR EVERYONE, including their Vice Presidential candidate, or they don't. And if they don't, then they have NO moral agency anymore to criticize anyone who chooses (their word, not ours) what to do about having a baby or who to love.

The Democrats need to hammer the Republicans on this NOW.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
Anyone else notice that Levi 1) has a name that fits the Palin family naming convention, but also more biblical and 2) he got a nice GOP haircut since the first pic was released?
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
and 3) he no baby daddy.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
yep they gave him a nice young republican hair cut. I am watching Sarah speak and they have Mrs. McCainholdin' little Trigg. that baby should be home or back at the hotel. not beingpimped out.
Bristol is wearing a form fitting dress and she is sitting next to her fiance.

    CNN COMING UP NOW !!!
Sarah Palin's Sister up in Alaska... LIVE INTERVIEW !!
    NOW!!!
  • OneManComotion · 1 year ago
Would someone out there please equate Palin's nomination with the child's game none as "Duck, Duck, Goose". Who the hell would want to be assiciated with this, so called man, named McCain. All of the other potential Vice Presidential candidates
knew they might have on their resumes a loss.

Again "Duck, duck, goose"...we all loose with Palin. And the lose could be far greater than all of the hype.

Levi is SO gonna move to F*cking L.A. and start hanging with some F*cking chill bro's at Villa.

He doesn't even have to try out for "The Real World" now, he's golden.
Every tart in hollywood is going to want to bang him once he gets some more airtime.

    (snark off)

Poor kid. He's going to feel as old as McCain by the time he's 20.
  • Mark217 · 1 year ago
John, You published viewership info about the Democratic Convention (how many viewers watched the DNC on TV). There was a poll on CNN's website and 57% to 43% the majority said they weren't even going to watch Palin's speech. I am going to Taco Bell and just skipping her speech. This CNN online poll is unscientific, but I will be very curious to see viewer data from the RNC broadcast. I just don't believe people are all that interested in the RNC broadcast (and I don't think the RNC is going to pick up any new voters tonight). RNC broadcasts just don't pump the nads of the public. When I get back from Taco Bell I am going to watch a "Law and Order" marathon on another channel. Most GOP events on TV remind me of the 16mm movies from the 1950s that I saw in health education class in 8th grade in the 70s (very bland, Beaver Cleaverish, and very boring). Please let us know about viewer data from RNC compared to viewership of DNC. BTW, CNN is carrying the story about Churck Todd, Peggy Noonan, and Mike Murphy blabbing their real feelings on an open mic.

Who on earth would watch Sarah Palin's shrill rightwing crapola when Project Runway is on???
  • gallery · 1 year ago
Mittens is on now, and it's a good thing he's standing behind a podium, because he has a giant boner for himself.
This speech is gonna make history for all the BULLSHIT he's spouting.
This will be PICKED APART tomorrow for all it's inaccuracies.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    Obama's kids are so adorable.

Palin's kids are a complete nightmare. One knows instinctively that another madness is just around the corner with one of them.

    Such a huge contrast.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Shirley, I think Palins little girls are darling. I don't much like their hypocrite of a mother, but the girls are cute.
I don't think they have much of a chance in life with that mom though - early pregnancies and marriages are never a good thing.

Bald faced lies, BS fantasies, and total lack of supporting evidence, the Repugs have become a TV Church. Complete with insane old geezer and sleazy tramp.
  • TxDeb · 1 year ago
Yes, she has asked the media to "respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition."

    What about Terri Shiavo's privacy?

    The hypocracy is astounding.
