AMERICAblog: AP's bias toward McCain is tilting other media coverage. Has the article praising McCain's speech already been written?

When did the AP lose its integrity?

Wow, and now they are doing a video about Cindy falling in love John ( no mention that he was married with children at the time) and taking about her charity work, ( no mention that she stole drugs from the charity). Family values!

OT but good for a laugh. Dan Savage at the Republican Convention:
"CNN: Who's sexier: Republicans or Democrats?
Savage: Well, there's just something about those Young Republicans. They're very sexy. They're very tense and nervous. I spoke to a lot of them because I've been running around the convention asking teenagers throughout the convention if they're virgins or not. 'Cuz I feel like I have a right to know because we've invested over a billion dollars in abstinence education programs under George Bush. " http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/04/question...

this is priceless: Savage: I think Palin has been the clown car of the vice presidential nominee. You never know what's going to pop out of Palin next.
Reminds me of that poster that has the Duggars on it and the caption says: "Vagina. It's not a clown car." People need to remember if Palin truly eschewed birth control that is what her family would look like.

Time tag last night on Liz "Donuts with Sprinkles" Sidoti's puff piece on Palin's speech: 1113 PM (EST). Time Palin finished speech: 1109 PM (EST). Time puff piece actually finished by Sidoti: HOURS before Palin speech began.

They're doing the Cindy McCain video now. Funny, they skipped over the part where she and John committed adultery - where he essentially left his first wife because she was in a horrific accident and wasn't pretty enough for him anymore...........

I would write a letter to my Editor at the FarmingtonDaily times but they only print fluff pieces about oil and republicans. The last political letter they published repeated shamelessly the lie about Obama being a Muslim. It was left unchallenged. McC ends up above the fold in section A, Obama ends up below the fold in C the lifestyles section.
I love watching the Cindy speech ... they keep cutting to the audience and they are as bored watching her as I am! LOL.
I also can't believe they brought up the Mother Theresa story ... that's already been proven false. And they left out her addiction to vicodin (stolen from the donations gathered for children).

I am not going to watch McCain lie tonight. The old white farts can cluster jerk to his 9/11 and rewriting history without my viewership.

Associated Propaganda, anyone? I noticed this earlier today, it's icky. Re: McCain I'm starting to wonder if his mood swinginess is the reason he never got further on the ticket before. Republicans seem to do better with cold-hearted sociopathic emotionless types like Reagan and the Bushes. This rageaholic dude might be a first for them, but I guess they picked him because there just wasn't anyone else.

That's a good point.
The coverage did get more negative as the day wore on.
Unfortunately, the first poll on the speech was done during the morning glow.
Dude, AP had a "review" posted of McCain's speech two full hours before he took the stage.

I think the Associated Press is now under the management of William Dean Singleton, the owner of America's 4th largets chain of newspapers, and the Number One purveyor of dumbing down and hollowing out each and every newspaper he acquires. In my own hometown, I know Singleton as the owner of the largest local paper, the Daily Bulletin, publlished out of Ontario, CA. He owns every major paper in my congressman's district, that being David Dreier, and every one of Singleton's papers has assiduously squelched any mention of my congressman's corruption and his hypocritical double standard in regard to his own sexuality and the civil rights of others like him. When Democratic opponents attempted to make an issue of David Dreier's having his boyfriend on the payroll as his head assistant, and their many vacations together on the taxpayer's dime, the Singleton newspapers wouldn't touch the story. They still don't.
I think that we need to get beyond the paid flunky at the counter, and dig deeper into the Reublican shill who calls the shots at the fleabag hotel that is today's A.P.

Two major pesonages in McCain;s llfe journey were left out of the biography sold to the convention and the public today. And because it was a deliberate action, leaving them unacknowledged and un-thanked tells a hell of a lot about John S. McCain's depth of honor and character.
First, was Carol McCain, his first wife, who sacrificed and sufferred tremendously to keep her frequently absent, and then captive, husband's family life together. Her story is the true face of what common female character and courage is all about, not the freak show that is Sarah Palin. But not a mention, not a single photo on the giant screen.
Why is she so ignored? I think it is because to know her story is to know too much about McCain's real story. By and large, the American people don't know that John McCain's life isn't divided in the way he likes to publicize. He wasn't a hot-headed and selfish jerk before the Hanoi Hilton years and a chastised and changed man after his release. The Truth is that he went on a prolonged jerk-athon spree after his release and neglected, rejected and cheated on Carol right and left until he dumped her for Cindy the heiress in 1980. John McCain cleaned up his act (relatively, if we think of Vicki Iseman and others) when he entered politics in the 1980s as a well-provided husband who had too much to lose.
The other personage who has been so thoroughly ignored in the biography is the commander of McCain and all the other POWs held with McCain. It was his orders that McCain followed, when he turned down the offer for early release. It was this commander who kept the men's morale up and unit cohesion intact. Why is it that McCain tells the story as if it was his choice to give up early release? It was never his choice. If he had accepted, his career would have been over, and his reputation ruined. He would have willfully disobeyed the direct order of his commanding officer and even his admiral daddy could not have saved him. Why can't McCain tell the story as it really was, and give that now unknown officer and patriot his just due? Because it isn't honor first, it isn't country first, IT IS MC CAIN FIRST! What a truly little man he has become in his dottage.
