AMERICAblog: Are Clinton's staffers and superdelegates actually going along with this campaign of destruction?

  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Wasserman-Schultz (sp?) said yesterday on Hardball that the Clinton campaign would not go on beyond the end of June. Her expression indicated to me that she, at least, really means that.

The thing these Clinton staffers and superdelegates aren't realizing is that their blind support for this creature is an assault on our system of democracy. That's when the Clintons are happiest -- when they're able to tell everyone what to do and how to do it. Silly non thinking Americans who follow them!

NPR this morning reported that the GOP's warchest 10 times the Dem's (down to around $4 million). As long as HRC keeps hanging around, like that last annoying guest at the party, the Party itself will become as broke as she is...

Hillary Clinton is not a Republican, as far as I know.

There is no way you can get me to believe a "strong progressive" works for Clinton.
    What drew them to her?
Her vote for the Patriot Acts I and II?
The time she spent on the not needed (and not going to happen) Flag Burning Amendment?
Her passion for stamping out video game violence while aiding and abetting the fiasco that is the immoral Iraq War?

More and more Clinton has a deranged, Charlie McCarthy look . It's getting really scary out there. In four years she may just be bouncing off the padded walls.

Hillary and Bill care about only one thing. Winning, regardless of the price to the party or our country. It is painful to watch them continue to tear down
their opponent, continue to distort, lie, exaggerate, pander.
I once thought we had two good candidates but the Clintons, and their tactics, have proven only one man is deserving of the office of president
    of the United States.

I find all this from the Clintons and their supporters very embarassing and scary. Clearly I don't want any of them answering the phone at 3 am. The fact that they don't realize how crazy they are indicates a lack of judgment, being in a bubble, being out of touch with reality.

Handing our majority to the Republicans in 1994 apparently didn't get the job done. The Clinton's won't be finished until they destroy the Dem party. They didn't care then and they don't care now. Nothing they are doing now is a surprise. The blogs should remind their readers what happened in 1994 that caused the Republicans to take control. The Clinton's have a long history aiding and abetting corrupt Republicans.

Lets remember the names of these people, when someone signs on to a campaign or cause they have a right to sign out. Staying on reminds me of Jonestown, don't really want to drink the koolaid but think they have nowhere to go.

I think the Clinton legacy has been established. I speak as a life long member of the Liberal Party of Canada in saying that for the past 5 months we have seen Hillary's campaign go from following the tenets of liberal philosophy to one of inciting racial divide, marginalizing the middle class and poor at the expense of a candidate who is no where the elitist that the Clintons are. They represent all the evil things that are rampant in America. The win at all costs, bully tactics, slash and burn, with me or against me bravado that exemplifies the Bush years. I am proud to be a liberal, I am not a centrist I am a left wing Liberal who believes that we all can help each other and that at times the government has to help out the less fortunate, the less educated, the sick and the unemployed. Without reaching out for those in need we diminish our basics beliefs and become no better than the right wing idealogues who focus on selfish greedy ways to make themselves superior.

How is Canada? I'll move there if Clinton or McCain win.

I have lived in the U.S. since 1986 have dual citizenship and own a house in old Montreal. Canada is certainly not without its flaws and the same kind of political scandals you find in the U.S., but what it does have with a parliamentary system is the ability to throw out the ruling government party as long as a majority of members of parliament vote for it. To me it seems the citizenry have more power to exert pressure on the government. Canadians did not go to fight in Iraq, partially because Canadians did not want that to happen and also because the Liberal Party which was the party in power refused to become involved in an invasion without cause. We did and still do participate in Afghanistan. As for the country, Universal Health care is not perfect however you get treated and you don't go bankrupt and the doctors spend more time with you. Sure you might wait for elective surgeries, emergencies are treated right away. The quality of healthcare is at least equal but the stress of having Healthcare when you retire is removed and the profit is removed. My wife and I plan on moving back in a few years. Our original plan to remain here has changed with the political climate and the rise in aggressive, violent confrontations from our politicians down to our kids in grade school.

Beautifully expressed "lycnhie". I would imagine this is the general view from those on the outside looking in.

No doubt about it, Hillary ran a bad campaign on a number of levels. She continues to try and be a viable candidate with each new primary. One of her biggest claims is she is a "stronger candidate in a general election", But is she really? This is an interesting article on how Obama's team planned his campaign. I am sure in a general election his team will effectively plan and use strategy to their best interests.

Clinton has never regained any lasting momentum since Super Tuesday, she planned on being the winner. Now she and her staff on must rely on semi-truths, exaggerations, and ignoring previous pledges to honor the DNC rules. She is desperate and "slash and burn" does not bother her or her supporters.

Read this AP article. The article makes me think she is not the more electable candidate because in any election race there must be planning. Obama's team planned, HIllary's did not.

moutainhigh: I like the name:) Obama was never meant to be a factor, and Hillary has been in "adjustment" mode the entire campaign. I'm praying that the superdelegates are just waiting to all migrate to Obama's side--and deal the final blow. Perhaps the strategy is to let her play her entire hand, and to cripple her political career in as much as the Clintons' will never again have any political clout.

She'll never again have credibility in the Democratic Party, and she knows it. What you see now are the final death "throws". This will be the subject of much debate in the months and years to come. It's going to change the way the DNC conducts business from here on out.

I bet the Clintons are behind this newest preacher rant; hoping to destroy Obama with a new preacher problem! It is them, search and destroy!! If you listen to this new preacher scream, most of what he is saying is true!
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
lov446: You're correct! Much of what this preacher is saying is true. Of course, he was in a setting in which the message could easily take root. But, the core of what he was saying about Hillary and her "privileged" mindset hits the mark. It's important to note that in no way does his representation of some Americans--represent the totality of people that are good, caring, and decent in this country.

It pains me that Hillary is able to sell her message so easily in the Appalachian belt. These poor folks don't have the "metal" to grasp how they've been played for decades by the likes of Hillary and the GOP. And so, it goes on an on--and on an on!
  • lov446 · 1 year ago
I agree with you so much. Thanks for the reply. The Clintons have greatly disappointed me, as I started out supporting her, but because I keep my mind open, I soon understood what they are all about, and it was not a good thing! Thanks again. Go Barack!!!
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
lov446: I think Hillary had the momentum starting out to win over a lot of people. There was
absolutely no reason for her to go "negative". Their messages were close enough so
that all she had to do was "stay on message". When Obama began to pull ahead, she
reverted to something ugly--which reinforced his message of change.

We knew that she could never win on the premise of experience. How could she sell that
to America over the experience of John McCain in November if she were the nominee?

Hillary re-introduced everything we loathe about the political process. The truth is, Obama
simply ran a far better campaign, and this is why he will become the nominee for the party.

Even as we speak, Hillary has pissed of her black support so badly, that she's
negotiating with Obama to intervene so that she can run again for the Senate if
need be. I think she's done. The political world will be talking for years about
the damage she's done to her legacy.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
That is one question that bugs me too. Why are her supporters going along with Hillary's despicable behavior? Her tactics are so republican like, and the past few years, have made the Democrats hate the Bush/Rove tactics. Why are they going along with similar tactics? Hillary has mocked, ridiculed, denigrated, and put down Obama, and has even endorsed McCain over Obama. Obama has mostly said decent things about Hillary in public, and I have never seen Hillary (the bad witch) say anything positive about Obama.
What goes around, comes around, and I wish that next week, we can see Hillary taking her exit papers and leaving the arena. She has made a damn fool of herself, and revealed the true Clinton colors.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
sage24: This baffles me as well. There's something deeply wrong with the way she's running her campaign. In fact, this whole scenario leaves me pondering the fate of the Democratic party. She's doing more damage than she knows. Or, she knows, and just doesn't give a damn, which is more likely the case.

Obama has done well in staying away from the "race" issue, and running on the merits of his message of vision and change. He leaves the field wide open for any candidate of "color" coming behind him.

Hillary is doing more damage to the image and credibility of high-profile women than she can imagine. This country is still dealing with racism and sexism: we all know that. What she doesn't factor in is that the same "mindset" that won't vote for Obama because he's black--is the same mindset that won't vote for her because she's a woman.

    "Blind Ambition".

Clintonistas are browsing Princeline for Iowa and NH tickets and lodging in 2012
  • gonzalez · 1 year ago
The democrats continue their gutless ways. This is why they can't win any big elections. These idiots will never give up. I have come to the conclusion that they want Obama to lose in Nov. so they can come back in 2012. I have news for them - the Clintons will never win. They are destroying the party. I'll become an independent.

Your mother must have really screwed your dad over in the divorce because all of you sound like you are dealing with huge Mommy Issues. Please for your own good seek immediate therpy. Clinton is not your Momma and not all women are screaming banshees so stop projecting for God's sake.

Hillary can't be the candidate in 2012 unless Obama loses in 08. The more she trashes him now, the less likely he'll win the general. McCain, if he wins, would be a one termer. Then she could waltz into the whitehouse in 2012.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Hillary's political career is damaged beyond repair. The year 2012 doesn't exist anywhere in the time continuum.
