AMERICAblog: Are the Clintons still telling major donors that they're taking this all the way to the convention?

    From Daily Kos:

    http://www.dailykos.com/

Every Clinton supporter on the DNC COMMITTEE voted to eliminate Florida and Michigan if they broke the rules

Last August, when the DNC Rules Committee voted to strip Florida (and Michigan, if it persisted in clinging to its date) of its delegates, the Clinton delegates on the committee backed those sanctions. All 12 Clinton supporters on the committee supported the penalties. (The only member of the committee to vote against them was an Obama supporter from Florida.) Harold Ickes, a committee member, leading Clinton strategist and acknowledged master of the political game, said, "This committee feels very strongly that the rules ought to be enforced." Patty Solis Doyle, then Clinton's campaign manager, further affirmed the decision. "We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process," she said, referring to the four states that the committee authorized to hold the first contests. "And we believe the DNC's rules and its calendar provide the necessary structure to respect and honor that role. Thus, we will be signing the pledge to adhere to the DNC-approved nominating calendar."

Lying bunch of turds, no ethics, no honesty, not Presidential. Sure would make a good Republican with those credentials. That should cost me about 50 minus points.

Hillary and Bill pushing the right for the votes in Florida and Michigan to be counted.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/28/clinto...

They claim they have been punished enough.

If i think back to the Gore election when it was stolen I don't recall a single comment from Bill and Hillary how Gore got screwed or how all the votes in Florida should have been counted. Amazing that they fit the argument to only cover their signing an agreement that if Florida and Michigan moved their Primary dates they would not be counted.

Why didn't you fight for Gore, Hillary, not relevant enough for you?
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
Remember that the Clintons were sidelined by the Gore campaign at the Gore campaign's request. So this is Al's fault, not Bill's or Hillary's.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
True. But they said not a thing, They were still part of the Democratic Party and Hillary's shrill refrain about counting all votes sings hollow when they said not a word, especially with Bill being the outgoing President.

Puffing up her own self-importance is the major job of Clinton these days.

She seems to be using the same tactics that Bush used in ginning up public support for the invasion of Iraq...

i love tell you i told you so. i have agreed with rachael maddow that hillary will take this to the convention floor so they can twist arms and get the nomination. this is not over until hillary says it is. she will lost the white house to a republican if she does not get the nomination. this is bad. oy vey. what a country and the era of old politics.

Scott McClellan's book SHOULD be the nail in the coffin for Impeachment Hearings. SHOULD BE!

Just got this from a friend of mine: "ALL THESE "MOTHERS" OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATIONARE GOING TO MAKE MILLIONS TELLING US WHAT WEKNEW ALREADY. THAT IT HAS ALL LIES, UPON LIES. AND WE ARE SUPPOSED TO FEEL SORRY FOR THESE ACCOMPLICES? I THOUGHT CRIMINALS WERE NOTSUPPOSE TO PROFIT FROM THEIR CRIMES. GRANTED McCLELLAN'S FACIAL EXPRESSION ALWAYSLOOKED LIKE HE WAS SITTING IN A DIRTY DIAPER. BUTHE CHOSE TO STAY AND DO BUSH'S DIRTY WORK. NOW THEY'RE ALL GOING RELEASE THE TRUTH, CERTAINTHAT THEIR ACTIONS WERE DONE UNDER THE PROTECTIONOF EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE. THEY ALL NEED "

What's been interesting to me is watching the Washington Reporters hit back at McClellan becuase he called them the Lap Dogs they are.

Watching Tweety's show, and Mike Allen and David Gregory are both of the opinion that it's not their job to find out the truth, just repeat what they're told.

God, Rove had these dirtbags figured out perfectly.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Yes, and some have pointed out David Gregory did a better job than most. It just goes to show that even the reporters who are considered on the LEFT are really center to right in their coverage. FOX NEWS reporters are EXTREMISTS on the right. There aren't any LEFTY REPORTERS anymore. Its all center right coverage, and when you approach the center then they are considered "lefties."

    Cowboyneok,

I don't think Gregory was EVER Left wing. Heck his mentor has been Geraldo Riveria early on (who used to claim he was a Libertarian) and has now gone Fox crazy.

I actually think Gregory has been a right leaning centrist all of these years and the fact that he doesn't seem to think that it is his job to REVEAL the truth just proves it further in my opinion.

By the way, HELLO! Been awhile, hope you've been happy and well!

    Hey Polly,

Good points, and by the way did you see Jessica Yellin on Anderson Cooper? She actually ADMITTED many stories she submitted, at her last network, were rejected because she was a "corporate reporter." So, she admitted what we Americans have been saying all along. We don't have an independent press anymore. They are only reporting what the corporations want us to hear.

Lawrence O'Donnell came out after South Carolina/Indiana and he forcefully made the case that Hillary would change the tone of her campaign, no longer attack Obama, would see her interests totally aligned with what was good for the Party, and would drop out after the Primaries were over in June, and, that she would then campaign passsionately for Obama.

I sat there watching Lawrence, who I like alot, and I said to myself, "Dude, you are in for one big mo-fo wake up call, if that's really your prediction about Hillary."

    I forgot about that.

He's kept a low profile since then, hasn't he?

Hillary's David Koreshitude knows no bounds
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
I remember Clinton telling everyone she would be taking the fight ot the convention, and it was fairly early on. She then would have her "peeps" come out and say, no, the next primary will be what turns the tide" and then everyone would write it down and relax. That is until she siad it again and got everyone all worked up again.

This has happened any number of times since March, but each time she says the convention threat to a smaller group and her peeps keep on keeping on with a new deadline where she will drop out.

The point is, she never has nor intends to drop out BEFORE the convention. Hillary wants to be President either on the Democratic ticket by hook or by crook OR is playing it nice and sneaky for the McCain campaign. She just might be his VP or most assuredly in his cabinet at the very least. In any event, Hillary wants Obama to be beaten to a pulp for her own reasons.

    Charming politician...
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
Since no other candidate who has ever gotten as close as she has ever dropped out before the convention, I don't see why she should either, and these calls to force her out are ridiculous and unfounded.

Of course, since I'm now convinced that Obama will lose to McCain, I'm hoping she does convince enough superdelegates to change their minds, just for the sake of our future.
