    It's about time!
  • IthacaDem · 1 year ago
John, Joe, and the rest of the Americablog team: thanks for your indispensable work. Just -- thanks.

I think the blogoshere needs to beat this meme to death: JOHN MCCAIN IS A LIAR AND HAS NO HONOR.

    It will eventually seep through.
  • joelb53 · 1 year ago
When the fascist McCain/Palin team wins in November, at least the non-fundamentalists and progressives can use their Second Amendment rights to protect themselves when the Alaska brownshirts come to cart them away to the frozen concentration camps.
  • nothingasitseems · 1 year ago
Whew!!! I'm speechless. That was RE...FRESH...ING! Nicely done, Ari. "Shame on you, McCain! Shame on you, Brad!" That was perfect!
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
Good for Ari! Is this "our" Ari? I knew I liked him already but this is great.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
    and he's looks good!!!! ;)
  • slw0606 · 1 year ago
I want these Republican below the belt unashamedly dirty liars stripped stark naked and exposed to the whole world for who they are.

All campaigns distort, like when the Obama campaign suggested McCain's "100 years in Iraq" meant McCain was willing to see a 100 year war as opposed to a 100 year stationing of troops to "keep the peace".

But this kindergarten ad is the worst form of pure lie meant to raise subconscious racial fears and basically call the father of two young girls a sick pervert for supporting such a thing, even though what Obama supported was not what they said he supported.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Perhaps, at last, enough is enough.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    Wow...good clip...

The McCain camp has a pattern of when caught in a lie....they just tell another lie....such as 'the bill is unclear'....what a pile of BS

Good for Ari for calling out 'lies' and McCain 'dishonest and dishonorable'

    NY Times Editorial:

    A Message for John McCain

......Surely, Senator McCain knows that all that change he’s promising for the tooth-and-claw Washington culture must start on the hustings. Yet, the kindergarten ad that he’s blessed signals that his goal is shamefully more of the same.

The lesson for voters is to be wary of all ads from the McCain machine. The lesson for Mr. McCain is that if he really believes in straight talk, he should fire his ad writers and any aide who believes that the best way to win the presidency is to lie to American voters.

    Okay Hillary where are you??

Time for a "Shame on YOU John McCain !!!!* speech.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I keep hearing that Hillary doesn't want to get into the fray of Obama vs Palin BUT is she out there AT ALL? I mean last week was an all attack from the Republicans and nothing from Hillary. She said she would support him but is one Florida speech support? IMO it looks like she is standing back and thinking, you wanted it, you got it.

I hope I am wrong about this but I just don't see much Clinton support.
  • iWoman · 1 year ago
I know I read an article earlier in the week during the pig and lipstick brouhaha, and Hillary defended Obama, saying he wasn't sexist. Something along those lines. But she hasn't really criticized Palin.
  • Outraged2 · 1 year ago
Ari Melber needs to add "Bush2000 lied his way into office and look where that got us" to his argument. Then he'd be PERFECT!
  • Will_In_Midtown · 1 year ago
WOW!!! Who the hell is that guy that has such a strong backbone? I am in love!
  • BarbaraGordon · 1 year ago
Good article on the top of the NY Daily News website detailing how the women of The View called out McCain on his lies. That show is watched by a lot of women.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Yes! Standing and applauding the first person I have seen calling out the lies of the McCain campaign, not to mention calling John McCain dishonorable and dishonest. There simple isn't enough time for these politicians to try to make the words lie, liar, dishonest and dishonorable respectable. Ari called it as it should be.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Great clip, This Ari Melber rocks, straight to the point and give the anchor Courtney Cox a three pointer for staying with her question even though the repug refuses to answer.
  • Outraged2 · 1 year ago
Correction -- Contessa Brewer, who I lost respect for during her Imus days, just earned it back!
  • JustinGrimes · 1 year ago
McCain tells The VIEW that his ads are not lies
Excerpts from the VIEW today reveal the true McCain. In response to the interviewers assertions that the ads his campaign are running that have been proven to be falsehoods (lies) in the major news media and fact-check organizations, McCain demurely replies, "They are not Lies." Ergo, McCain lies in our face on national TV. He goes on to say, "I wouldn't have had to drop these daisy cutters (bombs) on Obama if he had only done town hall meetings." His excuse for his lying ads, metaphorically scary.
"I don't think you'd see the tenor of this campaign," he continued. Oh Senator McCain, we see the tenor of your campaign, smell the rot of the tenor and now know that you are the lead singer.

    Dishonest and Dishonorable.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
yes...dishonest and dishonorable.....needs to be the meme about John McCain
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
I can see it now at the debates - "Sen. McCain, that's another lie in a series of lies. This seems to be a pattern with your campaign. Can you explain these distortions and outright untruths?"
  • bacalove · 1 year ago
    This is Priceless:

McCain: Mayors & Governors Do Not Have National Security Experience! Then why did he give us Sarah Paliin?

Wow, The View skewers John McCain.

    Watch when ladies attack!!!!

Just saw that! WOW! They asked relevant questions and tough questions. Why can't the media do the same?
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
The Rightwingnut blogs are being kinda quiet about the Gibson interview but the spin a comment on Redstate makes is hilarious:

paraphrasing: "If Palin doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine even is, how can McCain/Palin be four more years of the same?"
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
Who cares what some talking head in the MSM says, don't you get it, the people that need to be watching this aren't watching this. Does anyone really believe the average voter is watching programs like this?

The fight is in prime time and in pop culture, not in the political junkies world of print and news TV. Fatal flaw of the Dems, we keep using the MSM as a barometer of how the campaign is going and wonder why we lose. To use the MSM is the great propoganda machine, most people barely watch the 11 OClock news.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
OK Zenn. You're right. Who cares.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
That's not what I'm fucking saying. I'm saying quit getting all giddy for the wrong reasons. The view probably the only thing I read about this morning because of the fact that so many "non-political" people watch them and respect them.

What I'm saying is get your friggin head out of the sand and realize that what plays well in liberal blog land may not play as well in the big wide world most of us have to face when not in front of a keyboard. We can sit here and be happy that the MSM has finally caught the whiff of the crap coming out of McCainland all day, but until the Dems and Obama find ways to effectively get the attention of the 300+ million people who are more apt to watch dancing with the stars, American Idol, or the View than say, Keith Olbermann, THEY WILL LOSE!
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
But many, especially women, watch the The View. Toughest and most telling interview John McCain has given.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
    Yes.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
Agreed. My point is the larger issue that progressive blogs are too fixated on the MSM and give them way more credit than perhaps they should. In talking to a lot of people who I know who aren't political types, it surprises me how many people don't read the news that much and don't watch the news on TV.

One of my neighbors said it best when he said consider the population of this country is something like 300 million people, and we were all excited that 38 million or so tuned in for the RNC/DNC conventions at one point. If the best we can do is 15% or so of the population watching two of the most hyped political events ever, that says a whole lot about our interests in this country.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Most people do not watch network TV according to the last polls I read. They play video games watch sports events and read magazines published for people with sixth grade reading levels. They do look at YouTube and Facebook.

Another new Obama ad. Lobbyist run his campaign and they will run his White House too.

Obama was actually in favor of teaching six year old about sexual abuse, not sex.

I really surprised no one has noticed the above, but it very clearly explains McCain's attitudes towards women and why he is so disgusting. Clearly, the man is unfit not only to be president, if he truly doesn't understand the difference, he is probably over the line and simply never been caught, should be locked up in prison for life as a habitual sex abuser.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
    OT:
My heart is unforgiving and perhaps wrong, but I can't help celebrating. Another revolting right wing pig has died. Good riddance! May George Putnam roast in hell forever. Fresh clean air is blowing where once there was only the reek of a pig pen.

Contessa Brewer commits journalism about 10% of the time. She was pretty good this morning---or whenever that was.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
    It was yesterday, Thursday.
  • tigergrrldc · 1 year ago
Brad Blakeman is a total a**hole! Every time I see him on MSNBC I want to throw up! And he has that stupid smirk that I guess all Repukes are required to have to be a total tool!
  • Dave_Latchaw · 1 year ago
If Contessa Brewer can figure out you're lying, you're in big trouble.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
I am having Ari's first baby. And any more he wants. And, like Sarah Palin, I'm going full term regardless!
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
OK--for the first time in her vapid existence, Contessa Brewer justifies her pay check.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
She did a good job, and like I said, I can sense the journalists coming out now bashing the McCain campign for beting stupid and full of Shi*. The Republican talking heads choke when the "push" is on. This idiot, whatever his name was, couldn't get his act together.
  • jeffazi · 1 year ago
Brad Blakeman is a snake. Ari Melber pwned him. I think the MSM may have finally had enough of Rovian politics.
  • ImpureScience · 1 year ago
Oh. My. God. That was stunning. And to see a newsperson doing her job like that was just amazing.
  • benb · 1 year ago
Excellent but I have to wonder what's really going on in McCainville. They surely knew they would get the pubic's attention and I have to believe that they knew the press would be negative. How many times did they run the ad? Was this bomb set off to distract us from Palin's interview or the 'Rape Kit' embarrassment? Are they trying to bait Obama in some way? It seems too easy for the Dems on this one.
  • clytemnestra · 1 year ago
Wonderful too bad this was just on a cable new channel

gotta love Ari and he needs to get out on tv more!
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
Did you see McCain on the view, Barbara said to McCain that he had us the lipstick talking point also, he lied and said it not the same,he was talking about a bill but Sen.Obama was talking about Palin, and the looks he got was, damn you are just going to lie to uur face.
  • Voenixrising · 1 year ago
    It's about time!
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
Where have they been keeping this guy? He's great!
More of Ari...get him on Insannity stat.
  • DeanP · 1 year ago
But she ends it like the MSM always does--"Well, that's an interesting conversation." It's the stupid attempt to always be "balanced"--so when Republicans say "night is day," they're obliged to say "some Democrats argue that day is not night." She should have ended saying "You're a lying scumbag."
  • ydthin · 1 year ago
amazing that talking head kept hammering like that, she is either a mom or a survivor or both.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
Ari needs a big kiss from me.

    Bradley A. Blakeman

propagandist of the highest order, and the network labels him as a republican strategist, nice of msgop to put the worst of the republican lying pieces of shit in a nice soft blurry focus
