AMERICAblog: Arianna says Obama should ignore Palin and hit McCain, hard

  • gwpriester · 1 year ago
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

    Focus on McCain. Forget Palin.
  • HowieKurtznot · 1 year ago
    Listen to Arianna about this.

She is the veritable QUEEN of opportunism, so she knows how to do it.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i don't think everyone's focused on Palin to the exclusion of McCain.
i WOULD love to see an ad with a laundry list of the mess we're in right now and link it all to McBush and Bush in Lipstick...

McCain/Palin are a package deal now. they're joined at the hip.
just lump them together and hit em hard.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
They are appearing as a couple now....cause McCain alone on the campaign trail won't draw the crowds.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
exactly. he needs her and she's toxic, so hit em both!
  • SteamingPile · 1 year ago
I like the new Obama ad because it attacks Palin within the context of McCain's bullshit campaign and assigns responsibility for her presence on the ticket to Sen. McCain where it belongs. It's really brilliant.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    Arianna is right on.

David Gergen last week also said Obama should focus on McCain....to start a back and forth with Palin only brings Obama down to her level.....He is running against McCain.

Funny how this week there is nothing on the media about the 'unvetting' of Palin....and the lack of judgment it shows on McCain's part. The pick of Palin was all about show.

Mama Mooseeya cannot go quiet into that good election...But, McStain needs it hard, swift and regular. Haven't we here been saying that?
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Obama is going to be on Olberman tonite....
Then the new Rachel Maddow show.

    Can't wait.
  • erykah · 1 year ago
I hear what you are saying John, but if Arianna seriously believed that Palin was a mere distraction, why is Huffington post saturated with stories about Palin. Also, as much as we want to kid ourselves she is very much a part of this particularly due to the fact that she stands a far better chance of having to assume the presidency due to McCain's age. Moreover, Kerry made the mistake of ignoring thngs because he didn't think that mattered and look what happened to him. McCain chse her to reignite his maverick image. Obama has to show that this is a lie. If he ignores her, he does so at his own peril.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
It might be too late. The feminists are pissed and don't seem to have the heart to attack Palin; and, Obama has been handcuffed to her on the "experience" issue...
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    hahahahahahahahahahahaha.....bullshit.

    26 years in warshington
    12 years of republican congress
    8 years of republican president
    90% agreement

    mccain has moved closer
he has worked to be the same
he has embraced the Right rather than stand for what's right

mccain is not the man he was eight years ago
he is not the hero he was 35 years ago
    he is now the same
    he is failure

the change in mccain is toward more of the same

the maverick is dead. he picked palin instead.

and she is 100% CORRECTO...Arrianna is one smart cookie
  • woodroad34 · 1 year ago
That's good strategy...without McCain, there's no Palin. He's the one running for the Presidency. She's a hanger-on and just another malignant cancer he developed.
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
It's creepy that P-P-P-PORKY P-P-P-PALIN is bragging about leaving fellow citizens stranded on an island.

Well, she's aces above the women at my local Wal-Mart....
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
You could have a thousand stories on this woman and the right wing would neither read the stories or believe the stories.

This is how much the Republicans cannot stand John McCain. They have latched on to Palin as their savior, there next George Bush.

Do they not understand that McCain NOT Palin is the candidate? .
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    Cheney still has the shotgun....
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
Going after mccain and ignoring Palin is not the problem.
The problem is the spineless press that was played last week and have now rolled over and won't cover anything but, cutesy stuff about Palin. Have you heard about anything but, People Mag. type of coverage of Palin? Obama has gone after McCain and nothing is reported. McCain is not reported on. Only Palin.
  • CitizenX · 1 year ago
The people who forced gramps mcsame to select Palin also are driving the slash and burn campaign. The are blowing their wad that it will fool enough people to get him elected. Once there, they will force gramps mcsame to resign after a couple of years and Palin will be sitting pretty to run in 2012. gramps mcsame is expendable.
  • BobinBC · 1 year ago
This is why I like Arianna. She is nearly always correct. Let's focus on John McSame and only talk about Palin when we want to talk about how the GOP lies. Just like Bush.
  • eclecticbrotha · 1 year ago
John, my first time commenting here but I'd like to say a few words.

While I agree with Arianna that Obama and Biden should focus on McCain and only mention Palin if they are using her as an example of McCain's lack of judgment or proof they both are no different than Bush (which he's been doing all day by the way, especially in the new video response to the "Original Mavericks" ad that lies about both of their records) someone needs to tell Arianna she should practice what she preaches. The front page of HuffPost online has been dominated by Palin stories for at least the entire weekend. Arianna is just as addicted to the Sarah Palin excitement as every other blog.

    Here's a link to Obama's new video:

  • Busboy · 1 year ago
So, E-bro? What is it exactly that you want Obama to do in his first crack outta the box as president? The very first thing?
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
Yeah, Sarah Palin for Student Council Vice President!
Oh, now we can put the IGNORE buttom.

From now to election, attack, attack, ATTACK!

    Focus on McSame!

As McSame says "Vote for us because we screwed up!"
  • lark83 · 1 year ago
Gergen may be right that Obama should focus on McCain, but Palin is such a big fat juicy target its hard to resist. She is an obvious right wing nut job, religious extremist, serial liar that you want to fry her. I say nail her and McCain at the same time.
  • Captain_America · 1 year ago
OBAMA needs to put out an ad that ends with the words:

    McCAIN: RECKLESS.

It should focus on how the decision to nominate Palin as VP is not Mavericky, but RECKLESS.

WHY AREN'T WE SEEING HARD HITTING ADS? GET THE CABLE NEWS NETWORKS TALKING!!!
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Yep, Sarah is the "weak sister" in the equation. T-Boone says "drill, drill, drill". Obama should say "attack, attack, attack". You can't put the old white guy down until you put the woman down in her place.
  • gallery · 1 year ago
Okay, since I commented earlier about hitting at McCain about his reference to not being able to sustain his inevitable plan for MORE wars without a draft, I've been to a meeting for the gallery that I curate for disabled artists.
Without exception, every mom/dad there was opposed to a draft.
Come on dems...... tie the warmongers hardon for more war, with his record of how he "supports the troops" and we have a slam dunk here.
