AMERICAblog: Associated Press reprints GOP talking points as "news" about Biden

  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
AP better do the exact same thing when McBush picks Mittens.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Don't hold your breath.

Their Washington bureau chief is in the bag for the Repubs.

In fact, he begged McCain for a job awhile back---and now nobody knows whether he actually did get that job, and is working for McCain as AP's Washington bureau chief, or he's just auditioning for a future job with McCain.

He's definitely in cahoots with McCain in some form or fashion, tho.

Watch out now! AP actually tracked down a diarist at DailyKos using Google, over some minor error he had in a diary excoriating them, and actually cc'd his employer on the email to him. Scary.

So increasingly, the AP is looking like a propaganda arm of the Bush administration. They got weaponry, and they ain't afraid to use it.

What a stinking bunch of turds.

Gee, I wonder if the AP will pick up that Charleston Gazette editorial. (Yeah, right.)

Gee, I wonder if they'll pick up the hash the Vets for Freedom sling. (Yeah.)

But what jumps out at me is this:

"University of Maryland journalism professor Christopher Hanson called the trip 'subsidized journalism' that is 'highly questionable' and 'deserves scrutiny.'"

I sure hope the Obama campaign legal staff is, at the very least, ready to petition the Justice Department to have this stopped the way they are with AIP:

I recall someone saying St. Reagan was proposing "Voodoo" economics. Wonder how that fellah fit in with things after that.

    AP = All Propaganda.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
think i'll send this over to AP. it's news, though, and the GOPers won't like it, so you better read it here...

    That's pretty impressive.

I sent it down to my retired parents, who tend to fall for those Rush Limbaugh inspired e-mails.

Not sure if they can handle the truth.

Do not let the Republicans define what is happening at Invesco Field. Geez! American history is being made. The venue has to be as large as the event.

Why is no one talking this morning about that A-Hole Mike Murphy (Time Magazine) and his remarks to Olberman and Matthews last night after Pres. Clinton's speech. Murphy said Hillary and Bill both spoke well for Obama but that he predicts they will both vote for McCain! The crowd boooed him and Keith and Chris couldn't wait to get him off the stage. What a creep!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Oh.my.God. I missed it. I walked out of the room heard all the major booing and came back in. Murphy had a real smug look on his face, and everyone else looked aghast. WHAT A PUNK!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Earlier in the evening Chris asked Murphy what grade he would give George Bush on his Presidentcy.
    Murphy said "C"

Chris Mathews said something like, "That says it all"

    :)
  • brb915 · 1 year ago
he should have asked him what grade he actually graduated from, not Gee Db's grade
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
You've got to be F*ing kidding me. Yes, AP = PRAVDA

AP is no longer non-partisan. They were going that way for a long time, but they are no better than FOX NEWS anymore.
  • hallam · 1 year ago
Fortunately, Biden is a lot smarter than the AP.

Take a look at the 'articulate', 'clean' quote. It had the blogosphere in conniptions. But if you watched the DNC convention you will see that keynote speakers aside, very few of the speeches was exactly good. there are maybe ten US politicians who could give a good speech at a stadium and get away with it. Obama is one of the ten.

As for 'clean', well Obama is the first major black politician who has not come along with some baggage like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton etc.

The problem wit the quote was context. Coming from an opponent it looked like damning with faint praise. Coming from a supporter it looks like praise. Obama is the American Story.

And if you look at the other two quotes they are very carefully hedged round with caveats.

Biden is not just good, he is damn good.

  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Joe got in a big fight with David Shuster over the Iraq War, and he got his BUTT KICKED!

I think his bosses didn't like it very much. Its time for him to get his ass cancelled. Can you believe what a dip shit he? As if the REST OF AMERICA, who was NOT for this WAR, didn't realize his "Johnny come lately" views about all the money and blood we spent there? Uh, Mr. Joe... Mr. Joe... PROGRESSIVES were saying that from day ONE!
  • interlude · 1 year ago

Londoners are talking about what John Ashcroft was doing before 9/11. I wonder why this kind of NEWS doesn't make it into the AP?

I hope the AP is fair when New Orleans floods because Jeb Bush was given the contract on the faulty pumps.

Not only did the GOP do nothing but shoe-shop during the Massacre of 8/28, this time they get to complain about the priorities of the Liberal Media not covering their dull convention. After 8 years, they all look the same anyways.

Notice Abramoff is going to get a deal without handing up Tom DeLay?

By the way, I'm hearing most of the so-called DEADENDERS protesting against Obama are people who have been shipped in by Republicans. Dirty TRICKS again! Just like those little thugs who were shipped down to Florida to bang on doors and windows at the election board and scream, "SHUT IT DOWN!" Same group... different venue.

    Karl Rove is funding them.

I wonder what AP had to say when Bush picked Cheney for VP.
  • markkram · 1 year ago
If this was anything other than the Presidential campaign most of this work would be slander, libel and just darn right UNAMERICAN
  • kenclark · 1 year ago
I bet the AP had nothing to say, because Bush didn't pick Cheney......Cheney did!
