That explains his appeal! I hope he makes the day after St. Patrick's Day an official holiday!

although, after listening to it... I wonder if its better for him to be thought Irish or Muslim? (kidding! not a huge Celtic music fan)... could be worse, there could've been bagpipes involved.

This is great - I know all these folks and am kicking myself for not sending this video to the tip line earlier! Yes, they really do sing songs that go on forever like that. It gets boring on video but in person it's really great.
I think it's a real testament to Obama's wisdom/clarity about race, that even though he's 50% Irish he never attempted to downplay or apologize for his own 'blackness' with "but it's OK folks I'm half white!"

I have carried forward my mother's Eastern Europe jewish facial features, colouring, and that wonderful joke that has hair growing from where it shouldn't but my father's (weaker?) DNA began not far from there... funnier than hell when I tell people I am Irish!
Thanks for the video...will be humming it when I vote in the (Red) OC 4 BO!

I have always loved the Irish tradition of singing the news.
I may be a black dog, but my grandsire was an Irish wolfhound.

And, if he's elected, the English poobahs will trace his DNA back to George III
