AMERICAblog: Bear Stearns CEO to keep job with JP Morgan, 7000 to be fired

True story and the state of America right now. I tried to gas up my vehicle, but couldn't get the gas pump to work because of problem with card reader. Young girl inside told me I would have to come inside because of drive offs. It costs me $85.00 to fill my tank as my vehicle is a SUV. Unfortunately, I have to drive a vehicle large enough to carry my partner's clothing samples, so unfortunately I have a big tank and moderately low mileage. The girl apologized and said, "Sorry, but we are getting drive offs all the time now..." I live in a small town, and replied, "Yea, guess people are getting desperate." The young girl said, "Yea, its really infuriating. People need to get better jobs if they can't pay for their gas." I explained some people can't get good jobs even when they are educated. She then agreed, and blamed Bush and the Iraq War. She said, "Kids like me are going to have it really tough. I'm graduating next year and I don't know how I'm going to afford college. There will never be social security for our generation." I told her I didn't mean to depress her, and left thinking, "Yea, that is the future Corporatist Republicans have given us, and some want to continue to vote for the Republican John McCain?"

I wonder how many o this 7000 fired employees are bitter?

I bet they are some happy campers counting ponies in the sky and saying to themselves life sure is sweet.

No on second thought I think they are bitter.

Let's ask McCain what does he think. Oh, he thinks all is well and Americans are not bitter.

If you want more of the same Vote for McCain. McCain = Bush

And Hillary thinks everyone is optimistic and all those other idiot platitudes she crapped on with. Honestly, your so-called "choices" for this election are all sick jokes and are among some of the worst Presidential contenders history has ever seen. 300 million of you and these three geese are the best there is?

The gap between what people in ordinary situations are saying and what the cheerleaders are telling us to believe is getting a little too wide. Hillary's wild-eyed nonsese is disturbing. I mean that the way the crazy guy on the corner who cleans windshields is disturbing. The high school graduating class this year is fairly clear-eyed. They get it, they see what's happening around them, and they know they've got limited possiblities and little chance of a good job or of paying for four years of college. Unless they're from one of the NeoCon Republican families of Seminole county, Florida where the cash flows freely and never was heard a liberal word and the Hummers continue to roam. Imagine that? One of my favorite visuallzations is to watch the starter mansions of the nouveaux riches crumble during the next hurricane.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Indigo. You encapsulate exactly what I felt listening to a 17-18 year old girl working at a convenience store. She totally got it about how Bush and friends had destroyed her chances. I believe its why we are FINALLY seeing college aged kids register to vote and get active. They are GETTING IT.

Hey Man, don't you see the LIGHT here? They're saving money. They're paying only 1 salary..... not 7,001.

It's a brilliant cost effective policy.

    BULLSHIT.

The repugnants have destroyed this country. Time for a new start. .
