I would love that, but would we lose his Senate seat?

Unfortunately he rarely includes Lieberman in his comments. It is all Bush, McCain. Lieberman and his ilk are bullies and worst of all Empire builders. They want to dominate, control and punish and believe living in Peace is a fool's game.
Jeezus these people infuriate me.

Lieberman needs to be stripped of his chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee

Truly a weak man. He's not the kind of man than inspires confidence. He should be stripped.

I will never "forgive" the voters in Connecticut for what they burdened us with. I hope they're happy. God! I sound just like my mother.

"It achieves nothing."
Pretty well sums up the Bush Administration in a nutshell.

if one has any doubts about wether 'traitor joe' is a reich-wing plant in the democratic left, all they need to do is watch the youtube debate of liar-man vs ned lamont and compare that with vs cheney in the vp debate. There simply is no doubt. He wanted cheney/bush to win the election. He is the sickest of the sick.

The only ones who take Liebermann serious is the press. They seem to think all democrats but, him are out of touch and only Liebermann understands this. What a crock of crap they have been lapping up. For democrats the only person concidered to be a failure as a democrat is Liebermann. He is nothing but, McCain's little poodle.

So I guess that its a good thing that Gore didn't win 2004 - what with Lieberman being on the ticket and all.
Does anybody wonder if Lieberman's behavior in the last few years is a sort of 'nervous breakdown' as a result of that 2004 disappointment? I wonder what Gore's thoughts on that score might be? I'd love for some interviewer to ask him sometime. And while he's visiting that territory, I'd enjoy knowing whether Gore still considers Lieberman to have been a good choice for his running-mate.
I mean - we're watching the first Black P run; and the first White woman P run; and the first geriatric P run - and we've recently had the first Jewish VP run - so the excitement and anticipation of being that 'first' had to have been a terrible crash and burn when it ended in defeat.
So, might Joe's behavior be a manifestation of the 'anger' stage of grief?
Not that I'm condoning him ..... just wondering ....

Due to the internet I know a lot more about the record of politicians than I used to (Thanks AmBlog!!!). It's probably best that I didn't know anything about Lieberman in 2000 or I might have felt sick for months after giving him my vote. Not that there was any alternative. I can't imagine anything worse than what we got, but can you imagine the possibilities of President Lieberman?

Of course my post should have read 2000 instead of 2004. Sorry.

Biden is a smart man, and I'm thinking he's going to play a major role in the Obama Presidency. Obama has the ability to surround himself with some of the brightest minds on the planet. They'll be knocking on his front door.

Good article by Biden, but in light of it, I am surprised that the senator has not endorsed a candidate yet. You would think it would be Obama by his defense in the WSJ of the kind of diplomacy O is advocating and by the fact that his state went for Obama overwhelmingly in the primary. Come on, Senator Biden, it's time to step up and put aside your personal disappointment as Howard Dean, John Kerry, and John Edwards have done.

Biden will, I guarantee he's an Obama supporter. How can he not be? He's just waiting for the right moment. Every time someone of Joe's stature supports Obama, it sends new ripples of excitement through the concourse.
I really think they're planning it so that the entire world will agree that Hillary's demise was her own doing.

I'll bet you're right. This last controversial "assasination" remark should be the icing on the cake. The woman is poison! I'm curious though, what power she really hold's over the dems on the hill. I've never followed politics so closely, and this year has been an eye opener.
Who do you pick as a VP for Obama?
blackwolf

Reply to myself: Mark Waner would be my pick for the VP slot. He's smart, and knows how to turn a buck. He's also got his finger on the pulse of rural America. Virginia is hot right now, and a home-grown candidate would put some fire into the campaign.
Dave of the Jungle

I haven't thought about that very carefully. Obama knows how to surround himself with good people. It will be very interesting to see what he decides.

Biden and Hagel offered substantial criticism of the Bush farce in Iraq week after week for years. I will always respect them for that.

If I hear one more Rethug complain about gas prices, I'll puke. They voted for Bush/Cheney twice, voted for LIEberman along with Dems who knew his hawkish stance (and should have known better, but then again, it IS CT!).
The warmongers know that Obama will seek dialogue with countries historically seen at odds with the US--they know they'll lose lucrative contracts if war activities come to a virtual standstill.
Meanwhile, I saw gas at $3.98 here in NC a BP which seems to go up faster, and the station closest to me changed from $3.85 to $3.91 in less than half an hour this am. Grrrrrrr. Damned speculators and greedy oil companies. Also, saw large increases in more grocery prices this am. This is really frightening, much worse than the chance of another "Al Qaeda" attack, really.

Older....Are Microsoft, 3M and most of the S&P 500 that earned over 10% greedy also?
"Last year, Exxon had $404.55 billion in sales, and ended up with $40.61 billion in profits. That's a net profit margin of 10.04%. Compare and contrast with the companies below:"
Microsoft Sales: $57.90 Bil Income: $16.96 Bil Net Profit Margin: 29.29%
3M Sales: $24.46 Bil Income: $4.10 Bil Net Profit Margin: 16.97%

Hell, yes...you think Microsoft and 3M don't have govt contracts related to war activities? I'm waiting for Congress to impose excess profit taxes on any war-related profits, and they're huge.

It's also a good time to let Sen. Lieberman realize that when there is a supermajority of Democrats in the Senate, he can go caucus with the 20 Republicans left in the chamber.

What is it with Biden...he's speaking out and making excellent sense. When he's not grandstanding or voting for awful bankruptcy bills he seems to actually be quite good.

to date no one has explained to me why biden wasn't given even a minute of consideration as a serious candidate - from the first debate he was treated not as an also-ran but as a never-run - yet in those few minutes of mic time during the debates I liked him the best
