I remember a while back Biden had said or done something I was really impressed with (can't remember what it was this early), and I had posted the question, "why isn't this guy president?" and someone had an answer to it. I'm straining to remember what it was. Or is it too early to dig up the bad?
Any idea what it could have been? Did he do or say something anti-gay?
(I know... could I be any more vague?)

Because at my advancing age I can still remember pretty well. If you look above you'll see I learned a lesson about elitism and seem to have expressed it reasonably well. As far as my comment about 'can't remember', that was merely an act of sarcasm and I probably shouldn't have written it. I have a sense of humor that some don't grasp. Besides, I don't care for guessing games. I am sure you could have done a little work on google-changing your search terms around a bit here and there and you would have found what you were looking for. And I'd be willing to bet that I would have enjoyed the clip you had in mind.

I meant no harm and am sorry if I upset you.

Don't get me wrong when I write this, but I am so left-wing I make the dems look like the repugs. (I remember the word coined a few years back: Demopublican or something to that effect.) But on to the word elitist.

Every person from police, firemen, city council members, and any other politician or bureaucrat you can think of are elitists. They will do and say anything to get the job, keep the job, get more money and power, more workers (Depts. and Bureaus) so that they can become over paid, over powerful slackers. ( I learned this in PolySci some 20 years ago.)

What we need to remember is that nice people do not get elected to high office so feel free to begin calling them what they really are: Jerks....

Yep! I'm far enough to the left that I think Commie are disgustingly conservative. But I have to say that I have had the good luck in my life to know a couple good cops. One was a neighbor who was fired by the LAPD for being too nice. Another was a classmate who was deeply, deeply ashamed of his job. He was a huge man, more like shoulders about as wide as he was tall, but in uniform, took me a very long time to recognize him as he was so shrunken, almost as slender as a girl. Sigh! And another who was fellow fisherman who was good enough to ignore the other guys smoking pot on the boat.

No, never known a good politician. Was the mayor of Anaheim, who was vile enough that he promised a friend who the Immigration Service forced to give up her citizenship, to help her and as soon as he was elected, he pretended not to know her. Her father-in-law was very wealthy and eventually hurt him very badly when the father-in-law didn't come though with a promised campaign donation. But, I think the problem with politicians is a generational thing. There were good politicians in the previous generation. The boomers (my generation) are sickening. They turned their back on their 60's antiwar Vietnam war activism.

I am a lifelong member of the Liberal Party of Canada and I tell everyone I am a Liberal not just a Democrat. In regard to the boomers, many of the so called boomers never did shit during the 60's they were the kiss asses in high school and college who got the deferrments who never protested the war and made sure they prospered while everyone else went off to Vietnam to get napalmed, dystentry, trench foot and the like. When the vets came home after the war they already had their education and were changing the corporate structure to one of greed, avarice and deceit. The Roves, Cheney's., Bush's of the world who have never worked, never been fired, never worried where the next meal for the family is coming from. The ones who preach everyday about why someone else isn't qualified, who is so full of shit he picks himself for Vice President, who pisses on the constitution because it means nothing to him. These assholes were never activists the were opportunists and I get giddy thinking of how many may go to jail, how many will be fired and how many will be labeled for life as the thieving bastards they are.

No one will be going to jail if a Democratic Administration isn't elected. That is ONE BIG REASON and campaign issue to promote. If Democrats are not elected then Bu$hco will get away with all their criminality.

Everyone that was in Vietnam was a POW since they had essentially signed their lives away when they signed the contract (myself included). I also believe that everyone who (in America) that had to live during that time and pay taxes involuntarily for that war were also POWs. So, with that in mind Grandpa McSame can can stop riding that 'Oh, poor me, I was a POW' schtick. It doesn't fly here anymore.

That number for McCain doesn't seem to include his wife's assets. His family is a lot richer than that list makes it seem, not that a net personal worth of 20 - 30 million is too shabby.

I've been away from "teevee" coverage all day, but I heard FOX NEWS was flying over Biden's residence and trying to gush about how expensive his home is!!! They just can't help themselves, can they? They don't know how to report anything without turning it into some kind of GOP infomercial.
