Here's what KPMG's been up to in the last couple of years...

It would be nice if the post gave a bit of background, wouldn't it...

A long list of various state's pension funds for their state employees and teachers that took huge hits from the Enron debacle. Texas teachers lost $36 MILLION from their pension fund.

    http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BUE/is_...

AFTER Enron was already in trouble, our Republican Gov. Rick Perry encouraged the state pension fund to buy even MORE Enron stock, $9 MILLION worth, that became worthless only three weeks later. Of course the Enron executives like Ken Lay had been big financial supporters of Republican politicians.

Due to the sinking stock market, the Texas Teacher Retirement System’s assets have decreased by $7.2 billion in a little more than two months since the start of 2008 — a big chunk of change, a 6 percent drop in the value of the portfolio.

Asking for the truth is easy; actually getting the truth, not so much.

Lawsuits will lower the boom, as this sunk Arthur Anderson. If KPMG was in fact involved with this crap they will fall and fall big time, as they and the partners (personal liability speaking) are ripe for lawsuits and recovery. Lawsuits will devour these accountants and their holdings.

Our fine Texas governor is gay and a dandy fop. His well heeled wife is a mere beard. Anything else about our honorable and sweet governor good-hair Rick Perry has a real chance of being true.

Maybe The well-coiffed Texas can merge with the well-tanned Florida at a rest stop men's room in Louisiana.

Asking for the truth is for wusses. Only crybabies need the truth. Real Merkans don't need no Stinkin Truth. In Merka, the Winners just make shit up.

Hey Chris, let our poor Andersen rest peacefully. Us old alums are still pissed at fucking ashcroft.

This CPA though says that FASB needs to be reformed to look out for the public, not politicians and thieves.

Check out Lieberman's activities with fucking around with accounting rules. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/r...

This morning a crowd of protesters got past sucurity at Bear Sterns, they were chanting "Help for Main Street, not just Wall Street".....of course the MSM did not report about it because they are afraid that showing ordinary people that they actually have power will ignite more action and possibly there will be real trouble form the citizens/victims of this country's Welfare for Wall Street policies...........

Chris, I really, really hope you read these comments because I have a question for you about French health care and I don't see an e-mail address for you. Here are the circumstances and the question is, how would the French system handle this. I have a friend who works for one of the Blue Cross insurance companies. They have an insured person who has a particularly virulent form of Hodgkin's. They have paid for two bone marrow transplants, neither of which has worked. Her prognosis is grim -- she is probably terminal. Her family wanted a third bone marrow transplant and the company finally denied it. She is having one anyway and the family is going to try to pay for it but apparently there is little or no hope of it working. My question is this -- in the French system, would they keep paying for the transplants? Or what? I'd really like to know how the system there would work in a situation like this. If you would like to respond privately, my e-mail address (one I don't use much, byu the way, so all you people who read this, don't bother spamming it) is Agnostika001@cableone.net. Thanks a lot.

Evilmumrah, I hope he answers and it's something like a board of examiners made up of doctors and patients makes the decisions. Universal health care is not based on profit, it is also not based on emotionalism. I wonder how they handle experimental treatments.

Did anyone understand the technical details ( I get that they changed their accounting practices to be able to report gains instead of losses...) because, though not a genius, I reread several times that paragraph, and gave up. They were forced to buy back loans even when they were surging...what is that supposed to mean?

Chris, your a smart fella you don't really believe this government is going to do something do you? Its clear that the government isn't going to play part in the solution because IT IS THE PROBLEM! While these companies and often individuals have justice coming I don't think we are going to see it just yet. Our American Government is often run like a brothel. and our Government is in the foyer to greet its clients. I am astonished that people think that the corruption is in Washington. Its not Washington has become the puppet of the Corporations. Medications too expensive for Americans....OH I know we will have the corporations come up with a solution. I can assure you if Enron had not imploded in such a spectacular way it would have never ever have been discovered or prosecuted by the Government. The point is that you can make all the laws you want but you have to fund them to have them enforced. And you have to have an Administration with a will to stop the pillaging of the American people.

If America Thinks it hurting now because of the SubPrime mess. This summer is going to rattle them to their core. While everyone is focused on this Mortgage mess and Credit crunch. Current reports now say that manufacturing is still holding well with strong Exports. They don't tell you is that the OIL prices take several months to reach the pump. so todays spikes will get here around July. Not only that but the federal minimum wage will also be going up in July. I assure you that is going to effect everything. This is a really large increase in manufacturing labor. even your freakin big mac is going to cost more. In an effort to try to make Americans feel lucky. The Price We pay at the pump is being compared with Brittan. Oh we should feel better that we are not paying 9 to 12 dollars a gallon. While they fail to tell you that its because of the government subsedizing the energy industry. we are not paying even MORE. But we Are! If the Government did not pave the way for these companies we would probably have turned to alternative energies like solar and hydrogen sources. So think twice when you think about government regulation...Usually in this day in age its about keeping the company solvent....not enforcing criminal law.
