AMERICAblog: Big Time Lobbyist Charlie Black is quitting Mark Penn for John McCain

  • tommccaslin · 1 year ago
    Great story: Your mom is running for President, you make the choice to go out there and campaign for her and you don't expect anyone to ever ask about Monica? Then too, when the Hillary supporter asks a legitimate question, you respond like a childish, little bitch that it's "none of his business". Some advice for Chelsea: personal is personal until it affects other Americans. Your father's affair with Monica Lewinsky made for a huge distraction for within country. How your mother handled that affair can impact those wondering if she really has the strength to one day be President. In other words, if you can't deal with Monica queries while stumping for your mom, than stay the hell home.

    Not a great story -- just an old one -- and totally off-topic. Please try to keep up. Ask one of the attendants to help you.

    McCain is the lobbyists' candidate. No surprise there.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
    Now if we could only get Penn to choose Obama over McCain.

    If I were Obama, I wouldn't want Penn endorsing me! I'd like to see Penn go to work for McCain! He could do for him what he has done for her. Destroys from within.

    "HAMMOND, Indiana (Reuters) - Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton on Friday vowed to stay in the White House race, rejecting a fellow senator's suggestion that she pull out to improve their party's chances in November. "

    That sound you hear is the sound of progressive blogger commenters heads exploding.

    "Your father's affair with Monica Lewinsky made for a huge distraction for within country."

    I would say it this way:

    "The rightwings obsession with your father's affair with Monica Lewinsky made for a huge distraction for within country."
  • momby · 1 year ago
    I agree with Luna and Mirth...keep Penn away from Obama.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
    Momby, Penn is political poison. The anti-Midas touch. We should raise money to pay him to go work for McCain.
  • EdSikov · 1 year ago
    "Now if we could only get Penn to choose Obama over McCain."

    Godzilla's endorsement would be preferable. Mothra's, too.

    "Top Washington lobbyist Charlie Black is leaving his firm to join Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign."

    ---

    interesting... I guess political views don't really mean anything to lobbyists.

    its all about the money...

    charlie black: "what? mccain wants to keep us in Iraq for 100 years?? no problem. well..... wait a minute, he's still going to pay me more than Penn right? cool, no problem then... bomb whomever you want, its all good."
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    Mark Penn has so many Republican run companies along with their associates that it makes me wonder why the media hasn't made more out of that aspect of this man's "drive".

    Mark Penn must be the most charming guy in the world. He looks like jabba the hut, every time he opens his mouth on one of his conference calls he shows what a fucking idiot he is and he is ill tempered.

    But.. for some reason Shillary has decided to give him $1 of every $3 she raises.
  • tommccaslin · 1 year ago
    Charlie Black's defection only goes to show the type of scum that Hillary attracts to her campaign. They have no real principles or heartfelt values but instead are just out for a buck. Look closely at the people who support Shillary and you see a who's who of degenerate, amoral, opportunists - Karl Rove fits right in.

    I leave you with a song dedicated to Bill Clinton... Bill? where ever you are, think about the lyrics a bit...

    all my friends are married
    every Tom and Dick and Harry
    you must be strong
    to go it alone
    here's to the bachelors
    and the bowery bums
    and those who feel that they're the ones
    who are better off without a wife

    I like to sleep until the crack of noon
    midnight howlin' at the moon
    goin' out when I wanto, comin' home when I please
    I don't have to ask permission
    if I want to go out fishing
    and I never have to ask for the keys

    never been no Valentino
    had a girl who lived in Reno
    left me for a trumpet player
    didn't get me down
    he was wanted for assault
    though he said it weren't his fault
    well the coppers rode him right
    out of town

    I like to sleep until the crack of noon
    midnight howlin' at the moon
    goin' out when I wanto, comin' home when I please
    I don't have to ask permission
    if I want to go out fishing
    and I never have to ask for the keys

    selfish about my privacy
    as long as I can be with me
    we get along so well I can't believe
    I love to chew the fat with folks
    and listen to all your dirty jokes
    I'm so thankful for these friends
    I do receive

    I like to sleep until the crack of noon
    midnight howlin' at the moon
    goin' out when I wanto, comin' home when I please
    I don't have to ask permission
    if I want to go out fishing
    and I never have to ask for the keys

    The Clinton's have no core beliefs or values. By hiring a pollster as her chief strategist, Hillary proves her campaign has no message other than chasing after the latest public opinion based on focus groups and demographics.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    grasshopper,

    I wish I could give you five points for that comment. It's so true. She tried to triangulate voters but her campaign got tangled up instead.

    Don't bogart it Mirth!

    Well it's time for dinner and a movie here. Y'all have fun now y'hear?

    I've got a question for all those raving lunatic red blooded Bush Cheney free market capitalists out there. If the American taxpayer has to continuously bail out big business by just handing over billions from the federal government, doesn't that mean our system is no longer "FREE MARKET" or capitalist? If I remember correctly from high school civics classes, a government who makes the people support big business with their money is SOCIALIST or COMMUNIST. One more example of how the Bu$h regime has subverted our country.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    The new mantra from the Bu$h Communist/Socialist Dictators: "If you become too big, like Bear Stearns, you can't be allowed to fail... if you are a little peon then GO LIVE IN AN ALLEY DAMMIT and GIVE US YOUR DAMNED TAX DOLLARS and SHUT UP!"
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    One more message from Bu$h and Cheney: The American dollar makes a great alternative fuel for your fireplaces! Its the most inexpensive way to heat your home! Before its all over, Bu$h is going to make burning American dollars cheaper than paying for oil or electricity! HOORAY for Republicans!
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    cowboyneok,

    I am using my US dollars for wallpaper like the Germans. :-)

    Good question: Could John and Elizabeth Edwards be this calculating?
    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/28/195134/...
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
    Hillary better rein in Penn. He is behind all these lies she is telling, Tuzla and Ireland. This she does not need. Hillary is not stupid. Why did she let Penn talk her into telling these whoppers.

    Good question: Could John and Elizabeth Edwards be this calculating?

    I'm not sure how you see this as "calculating." You could, I suppose, characterize it as petty or even bitter, if you wanted. On the other hand, Edwards doesn't have to endorse anyone, if he doesn't want to.

    And I think Elizabeth Edwards has a beef. John Edwards was simply squeezed out of the presidential race by a corporate media that barely acknowledged his existence, while the media wet their pants every time Obama came into the room.

    Personally, I don't pay two nanoseconds of attention to who "endorses" whom when I decide who to back .

    Keith Olbermann is off today, and Amy Roebuck (?) takes his place.
    There was this segment where Jonathan Alter says a high Democratic official indicated that they were trying to get Hillary interested in running for Spitzer's job.
    Apparently the Clintons are not interested.
  • bullitt · 1 year ago
    Black isn't stupid. When the Kool-Aid drinking Obama fans get their asses wiped in November, Black will have a job with President McCain. As a Democrat, I'm preparing myself for four more years of Republican rule. The Democrats are great for picking an oddball. Just wait until the real Obama is uncovered................gay brother, sister a crack head.................Dean and the boys and girls of the Democratic party fucked up.......................another FDR.....yea right!
  • nicho · 1 year ago
    There was this segment where Jonathan Alter says a high Democratic official indicated that they were trying to get Hillary interested in running for Spitzer's job.

    Hillary only moved to New York because she calculated she could win the senate seat, which was a stepping stone to her coronation as president. She doesn't give a shit about New York or its people. They were merely pawns in her power game. She's be the senator from California -- or a number of other states -- had there been an opportunity for her to win there.

    Better trolls, John. We need better trolls. These bottom-of-the-barrel trolls are downright embarrassing.

    BKSH also was hired to do damage control, public relations by Blackwater, the "mercenaries" doing our dirty work in Iraq, and Countrywide Financial, one of the mortgage bankers up their neck in bad subpime loans. So John McCain is in good hands here with Charlie Black doing damage control.

    Obama is smarter than that!

    Penn is a disgrace as a two-timing, unsuccessful, bitter, scrambling-for-traction, lying, lobbyist. Without him, Clinton would be further ahead in the polls AND those millions would have been spent on something more worthwhile than telephone calls to supporters.

    Who wants a lead balloon when you are going fishing? Wrong tool and wrong job!

    Big Time Lobbyist Charlie Black is quitting Mark Penn for John McCain

    I'm sure that Charlie Black made this difficult decision based on principle -- or would that be principal?
    ;)

    Now if we could only get Penn to choose Obama over McCain.

    I wouldn't want to see Mark Penn anywhere near Barack Obama!

    Actually, Penn does seem to have the kiss of death on Hillary Clinton's campaign, and that's just fine with me. Who could ask for anything more?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
    Imagine that. Who would've thunk it.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    Oh Hell No on Penn getting anywhere near Obama.
    Stopit, Nigel!
    You're making me ♥ you even more.
    I have to keep a clear head...
    Or toke up.
    Luna, are you suggesting that since it's Friday and we're all tired and horny, we should, y'know, get it on here tonight?
    This has got to be unique in American politics. Obama is already a pop icon, and he's not even our nominee yet. Wow!
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    Nigel, it wasn't so long ago that the world stood with us. Remember their open arms and hearts after 9/11? I'm expecting to see some of that again come January '09.
    The King is dead!
    Long live the King!
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    In order for that to happen, America needs radical change to send a clear message to the world that the real America is back and reporting for duty. Obama is the best person to deliver that message to our allies, foes and the rest of the global community. ;-)
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    Amen, brother Nigel.
    You gotta believe in something. I believe Obama will be FDR2 and, perhaps, even greater.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    Bill Clinton already realised Obama will eclipse his legacy. If Obama lives up to our expectation, he will be up there with the likes of Abraham (notice he also had a semitic name) Lincoln, FDR and JFK. Yes, he can! :-)
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    I'm willing to go on faith.
    YES HE CAN!
    President Barack Hussein Obama
    aka
    Big Love
    Mirth,
    those kinds words must have been inspired by some kind bud, eh? hehe :-)
    Nope, it's the mirthiness. Sometimes it gets away from me.
    But a bowl awaits.
    mirth,
    is "pizza" code word for something else? hehe :-)
    Have fun. It's Friday! :-)
    I suspect ol' Hill&Bill are putting the meme forward that she stays in the race because they hope for more donations to pay off campaign debts. I understand those are piling up. :)
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    mirth,
    Nice hypothesis! You sure are one smart cookie. :-)
