"they're even better at being me than I am"-Mitt Romney watching the Clintons

Mince alors! Can we please stop with the Hillary Fratricide. It's so tiresome. I voted in the primary for Obama, but ALL one now talks about here is Hillary the evil queen. I'm starting to dread even checking AB because I know it's just going to be another all day Hillary bash fest. Nary a word about Obama's major league gaff shooting himself in the foot this weekend - Had Hillary done it there'd be a(nother) call for her head on a platter.

"Snaps" I think Mr. McGoo and Hillary are shooting themselves in the foot trying to exploit the NON-ISSUE of the "bitter" comment. Most voters ARE bitter, and Hillary and McGoo just look desperate and nasty trying to exploit it. Especially when Bill has to LIE to exploit it. I don't know about you, but most Democrats are TIRED, REALLY TIRED, of the Clinton's scorched earth policy. She doesn't have a real chance of winning and we don't want her hurting our chances in the fall. If you can't see that, then I'm sorry but its true. If Hillary thinks she is going to hurt Obama, and ride out four years of McCain and run again and win then I have news for the Clintons. That ain't going to happen. The Clintons have been handsomely rewarded by being rock stars for the Democratic Party. Its time for them to GIVE BACK and help Obama win in November. Their trying to help Mr. McGoo isn't appreciate by this Democrat.

The whole "bitter" comment has to be EXPLAINED by the Clintons and McCain. The issue is far too complex for the average voter to digest. All they hear is "voters are bitter" they then agree and move on. Again, the Clintons and McCain can try to make this an issue all they want. They are doing it at their own peril because the average American listens to "voters are bitter" and thinks, "Yea, I'm bitter..." The whole antipathy and relationship to guns and religion just doesn't compute. I'm glad it doesn't because Clinton and Mr. McGoo are just proving how out of touch and elitist they are by not realizing this.

I have lived in Rural America in two western states, since 1989, by choice, and for me, it's the best place to be. Since then, it has been my observation that Obama's remarks are spot-on.
It is amazing how multi-multi-millionaire politicians, who only venture out from behind the BeltWay during a (s)election period are so insulated from whatsreallyhappening. These goof-balls are going to spin their own reality, hoping in vain, to continue the status-quo.
Let them eat cake. I suspect the status-quo s(p)inners should not go there. That is not a threat, just a historical observation.
There is NOTHING wrong with God and guns and bitterness in Rural America. That's the way it is. And, I suspect, other than a much faster pace in Urban America, there's not a big difference there, either.
The Constitution is the People's contract with Our government. When that contract is incessantly violated, The People are bound to be bitter.

Nova, I'm with ya. When people hear the Clintons say "Voters aren't bitter" then they actually hear the Clintons saying, "Let them eat cake!" Its that simple. They don't process the entire remarks Obama made in San Francisco. It just doesn't register and absolutely backfires on Clinton and McCain. "Let them eat cake," indeed.

One thing I don't think is being explained or exploited by Obama camp. When Obama said people cling to certain things (they can control) like religion and guns when they are bitter, he didn't say being BITTER is the only reason why they cling to those things. It is TRUE that SOME PEOPLE DO cling to those things because they are bitter. He did not say that ALL people cling to those things because they are BITTER. There is a very big difference there, and since everyone in the media is TOTALLY PARSING the statement then it is very, very relevent to point this out to those making a big deal out of this non-issue.
cowboyneok
I totally GET what Obama said, and agree with it 100%. Some people in rural areas, where I live, cling to guns and religion because they can't control the outrageousness of government and what is happening to us. On the other hand, some cling to those things out of joy, or love of hunting or whatever reason. There is a SEGMENT who DOES cling to things like cultural issues and things they can control because they can NOT control big things like BIG GOVERNMENT. Obama doesn't need to apologize for the TRUTH. He needs to point out the TRUTH in it. Most rural people don't begin to understand the "big deal" being made by the salon Democrats and their surrogates over this. In fact, the Clintons and McCains are looking even MORE out of touch and elitist.

is anyone in the MSM pointing out that Shillary said she learned how to shoot and went hunting with her father and with some good ole boys in Arkansas, and then said she shot a gun ONCE, and didn't like it. Which is the truth----either or neither?

Whereas there are certain media stations that ARE showing Hill's idiotic gun totin' meme, there are far too many leaving it alone.
But isn't that what comes from the good ole corporate media? Geeez, I remember way back when the media was supposed to do the news shows as a public service and actually TOOK A LOSS to provide accurate news coverage.

This country has never been populated by angels, in the days of a more balanced media the incentive came not from good citizenship it came from the fact that the FCC was used by concerned citizens to enforce the conditions for broadcast rights. There have never been any curbs on the print media except outright liable. We get what we tolerate. Remember the term YELLOW journalism predates FOX. We have allowed the dissenters to be stripped of much of their ability to challenge the bias in our media.

Bill has NEVER told the truth. Don't you guys get it? For over a decade you have been enabling and supporting one of the biggest liars in American history - oh I know, it depends on what you mean by "is" or "sexual relations", right? What does that say about your judgment then and now? Maybe, just maybe, you should check your own priorities. It was clear to anyoen with two brain cells working as early as 1992 that the Willie and Hillary hour was a complete fraud, except for those otherwise intelligent people who let their ideologies do their thinking for them. Maybe you shoul consider looking at Obama and his elitist and antiAmerican buddies with the same objectivity you are using now with the Clintons and save the country the possibility of even more grief!

Am I wrong in saying that Hillary has some of the most elitists friends in politics? Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that 20 of her supporters, all with measurable wealth, tried to bully Nancy Pelosi into changing her words? As far as anti-American I think it would be interesting to see who has donated to Bill's Library, there are lots of rumors flying about that.
Polly_Tics

Aquarius2,
NO my dear, it is NOT your imagination. Hill and Bill have made it a point to attach themselves to the wealthy and powerful, so much so they can just pull the strings to make their "friends" dance to whatever song they desire.

Whereas I agree with some of your point, I must disagree that WE are all as guilty of what has happened to our country. I say the government (Dems included) have allowed these bullies to walk all over us in so many ways, but believe me, I (and many others I know) have done all we can to bring attention to these crimes.

Just as Jefferson stated that a majority of one was as valid as a unanimous vote, the other side is just as true. I understand that many people understand why we are in the mess we are. And I know how hard many have tried to stem the tide, the fact remains that we are still losing ground and all too often focus on non productive efforts. The issue I have with Clinton is that it is a personal power issue with her and many of her supporters are unable to view her actions in this context. Obama wasn't my first choice but I do think he is driven by a much more populist agenda than Clinton would ever tolerate. Instead of hashing that one out we respond to Clinton's false issues.

And you're right, he did dupe us BUT we are the ones to blame for that!

As an African-American, I used to support the Clintons. Now, like so many of my friends, I despise them to the core. They are corrupt, deceitful, conniving, adulterous slime! If by some bizarre scenario, Hillary steals the nomination, I will NEVER vote for that swine.

I was an Edwards supporter before I was for Obama and for the past 6-7 years I have been strongly against Hillary for anything other than a Senate seat (she's fine there since the peeps in NY seem to like her well enough to re elect her). So I am not one of the original or staunchest supporters of Obama. That said, I now am strongly behind him.
Personally (and I am not unique with this) I have worked incredibly hard to defeat Clinton, Bush and his many minions and refuse to accept responsibility for the minions who aren't involved enough to actually learn about the horrors of our crumbling once great country.
Yes, we may have been defeated in the long run THUS FAR, but that does not mean that this thing can't be righted, no does it mean that it will. THAT takes work, will and one heck of a lot of money (thankfully, one thing that Obama doesn't have to worry about). But all in all, I think it is a false accusation to say that we all have failed, that disregards all of the hard, fastidious and costly work that so many have done in this cause.
I agree that we have lost ground, but that very ground can be tilled if we get the right people on the farm.

It is always hard to credit your enemies and rebuke your allies. We all need to understand that hero worship is fatal in politics. We have never had a president that didn't have some flaws. With the development of opinion shaping techniques in use today it is extremely important to guard your skepticism. The basic problem is that most voters treat the elections as high school pep rallies.

mf_roe 8 minutes ago ===========================
Worshipping anyone is fatal, not to mention just plain silly; but that still doesn't mean that we ALL are guilty of the errors you discuss. As you can see, I do not take this thing lightly and truly think that we as a nation are comprised of our peoples combined. Each individual has a right to become involved (or not) and admittedly it is far easier to watch TV (and I am a buff) than to read, think and discuss.
BUT, I think we agree more than not here; my main objection is merely that you blame us all for the INactions of the majority. Where I can understand the accusation and it is sad, I cannot allow for all to take the blame.
That said, who has the bong?

Style points matter little in a win / lose game. I see little to indicate that most voters have any real comprehension of just what is happening to our society. The balance of economic power has done nothing but shift toward the rich for most of my life. There have been plenty of efforts to change this but they have done little to change what is happening. Are there good sailors on every sunken ship? Yes, but they are still drown.

Obama should turn the tables and make "I;m bitter and I'm not going to take it anymore!" a campaign slogan. He made a good start with the speech Sunday. Just grab the phrase and take it and run with it. Then anytime Billary or McSame used the word, they would be helping, not hurting our candidate.

Obama should counter the 'bitter' ad with one of his own pithy remarks, such as an explanation between the words 'bitter' and 'deluded'. He leads in states won, he leads in total votes, he leads with superdelegates -- she's DELUDED every second she remains. She's ruining the process.

Holy Cow get a life already. I can't believe I wasted the time to follow the link and read the article to find the support for this ridiculous entry. Really. Go out and plant a tree and fight global warming with all the time you spend scouring news coverage of Bill Clinton looking for anything that marginally justifies a little mud.
