You're correct, the right has always tried to pretend they're interested in social issues, and I can gurantee you this--the right will never field a black candidate. Colin Powell is already seeing the light. He was used by Bush and his cronies.
David Ray Griffin
June 14, 2008
This week, we present a searing interview of David Ray Griffin. Whitley Strieber asks the hard questions, and gets the devastating answers about what really happened on 9/11. Much of this material is new and it is deeply shocking. Then Linda Howe talks about what is probably the most incredible crop circle ever created, the first of what promises to be a stunner of a season in southern England.

Well I would like to be a fly on the wall when Condi Rice votes. She may publicly claim fealty to McCain - but I'd bet she'll secretly vote for Obama.
What part of the conservative philosophy appeals at this point to groups (like African-Americans) that are openly demonized by the GOP at every turn? The massive deficit? The bloated government spending? The open demonizing of the first credible black candidate? The inept handling of two wars being fought in great part by minority soldiers and marines?
I firmly believe that Colin Powell will pull the level for Barack. Rice may as well, though I'm less certain. I think it would be very easy to talk yourself into this particular Democrat, who speaks so eloquently and with optimism about solving the challenges we face, and represents such hope for everybody, even if you are moderately conservative. It wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of people stay at home or cast their first vote for a Democrat ever.
