AMERICAblog: Black RNC member says membership in whites-only club is no big deal

  • Older_Wiser · 11 months ago
The thing is, in SC they don't even allow blacks to get wealthy enough to belong to a country club anyway--the rules were put in "just in case." It's not unusual to see all white golfing clubs (otherwise known as "country clubs") springing up, when the nouveau riche whities couldn't get into the "old money" clubs in the south, either.

One in 10 homeowners in SC are either in, or skating on, foreclosure, to boot. None of the black homeowners are in a "country club" development, though. With the unemployment rate already at 8% there, and education put on the back burner, I don't think some of those "country clubs" are going to last too long, either.

The majority of foreclosures these days in this lake area of NC are the "wannabees" in the overdeveloped McMansion areas (some with their own golf courses, too). And a lot of bankers at BofA and Wachovia are quaking in their Guccis...

Being a whore is independent of the concentration of melanin in one's epidermis. Speaking of whores, how's the last 90 days of the rePig administration working out?
  • Charles2 · 11 months ago
This, of course, makes him a hero to all the mouthbreathers in the base.
  • RitornaVincitor · 11 months ago
Well, at least it kept OJ out.
  • devans00 · 11 months ago
Why is there even a club at all that still bars black members?

    Indeed.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
Hmm I wonder how many democrats are members? Oh thats right, we will never know because the membership is secret. I am glad the all knowing John knows the the roster of an entirely secret club. It would be funny if we found out and the majority of members were democrats, wouldnt suprise me. Maybe John can launch one of his investigations and stake out the club in his Ford Pinto. Keep us all posted we are eagerly awaiting the results of the investigation.
  • SouthernYankee · 11 months ago
DV go away you troll. I think everyone is finally having enough of you. Your igorance is show terribly. You are soooo mad that your moose momma lost the election. Aw so sad you are mad. I am happy happy happy happy. We have a new president. We have a new president. Feeels sooo good to say it.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 11 months ago
i loved the false equivalency between the racist country club and the legislative black caucus. as if the country club was organized to support the oppressed white minority. as if white legislators were trying to join the black caucus in order to gain some advantage. reminds me of the silly comparisons between eHarmony and gay.com a couple weeks ago.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
rofl yeah thats not "Fair". John should launch an investigation, isnt this the type of integrity that we need in these troubling times?
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 11 months ago
i can't figger out what you're smoking. i started ignoring you after your first post.
  • lucky hussein · 11 months ago
imo, it's b/c blacks were oppressed for centuries, and they are a minority. that's why there is now a 'congressional black caucus' the same cannot be said for reasons of an all-white cc. it's for racism only. if you don't see the diff, it's too bad. i would bet any amount you are not black.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
yeah and we all know that blacks in this country can never be racist. Only whites can be racist right? When does black oppression end? Everyone is oppressed except for the white man right? I want to join the congresssional black caucus why cant I? Oh thats right because I am white and they dont allow white people, yet someone cant make a private white only organization because its not "fair". You are an idiot. Call Obama and beg him to give you reparations maybe you will feel better being the "oppressed" man that you are.
  • lucky hussein · 11 months ago
exactly right. a private white-only organization is not fair
a private congressional black organization IS fair
btw: has a white person ever been denied entry to the congressional black caucus? of course not. will they accept you? of course! are you a us congressman? probably.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
exactly right. a private white-only organization is not fair
a private congressional black organization IS fair

    Why? Explain please -

Over the years, the question has arisen, "Does the Caucus allow only black members?" Pete Stark, D-Ca., who is white, tried and failed to join in 1975. The caucus does have dozens of honorary members who are white, Hispanic, and Jewish.[citation needed] In January 2007, it was reported that white members of Congress were not welcome to join the CBC.[4] Freshman Representative Steve Cohen, D-Tn., who is white, pledged to apply for membership during his election campaign to represent his constituents, who were 60% black. It was reported that although the bylaws of the caucus do not make race a prerequisite for membership, former and current members of the Caucus agreed that the group should remain "exclusively black." Rep. William Lacy Clay, Jr., D-Mo., the son of Rep. William Lacy Clay Sr., D-Mo., a co-founder of the caucus, is quoted as saying, "Mr. Cohen asked for admission, and he got his answer. He's white and the Caucus is black. It's time to move on. We have racial policies to pursue and we are pursuing them, as Mr. Cohen has learned. It's an unwritten rule. It's understood." In response to the decision, Rep. Cohen stated, "It's their caucus and they do things their way. You don't force your way in."

So what else are you wrong about moron? Every time you open your mouth the iq of everyone in the room drops by 1 point

I think any club that discriminates is bad. That said, I feel more upset about not being allowed to be a member of the Marriage Club. Members of that club have 1138 rights that same sex couples do not.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
Thats because marriage is not a club. Its an institution between MAN and WOMAN.
  • RainbowPhoenix · 11 months ago
    Take your church/state mingling elswhere.
  • SouthernYankee · 11 months ago
Hey DV your ignorance is showing. Oh, forgetaboutit your a republican. We have to give ignorance some leeway.
  • Older_Wiser · 11 months ago
OT--Just saw the local paper which said the unemployment rate in this county is 8.5%, second highest in the state. It won't take much to push it to double digits--another small factory closing.

Meanwhile, MSNBC is reporting the WH is not happy with Congress's plan for the auto industry. Well, well, well.
  • lucky hussein · 11 months ago
the words: 'ball and chain' keep coming to mind as I think about the states that voted for McSame last election.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
Yeah - glad your buddy Obama hasnt done anything he said he was going to do during the election, glad he chose moderates and righty's in his cabinet and kept out the far left, im not feeling nearly as bad now that he is not going to have windfall taxes on the oil companies like he promised. All the shit he talked during the election, glad he is not going to do any of it....wow, what fools actually voted fo that guy?
  • lucky hussein · 11 months ago
at least the dems never had a giggling, murderering, sociopath president that you gave us. fight world-wide terrorism: defeat republicons.
  • Naked Bunny with a Whip · 11 months ago
All the shit he talked during the election, glad he is not going to do any of it

I sure wish I were as psychic as you and could see exactly what Obama will do in the next 4 - 8 years.
  • PeteWa · 11 months ago
Different fools from the fools, like yourself, who think the President-elect can somehow magically do something while the President himself (your buddy Bush) still sits in office for more than another month.

Brain trusts like you never seem to be able to grasp even the most simple aspects of how our government works.

DV - Your eyes are soooooo brown. Oh I guess the shit is finally catching up to your brain.
  • truebluecoondog · 11 months ago
Yeah, and I would bet that a certain number of South Carolina R's will vote FOR him to satisfy their distaste that we have a brown president-elect.
  • Dino_V · 11 months ago
Im waiting for Obama to introduce the reparations bill so we can get back at evil whitey - oh thats right, he cant because he would have to take money from asians, hispanics and indians as well, than again they are racist against balcks as well so we should make them pay. As long as the reparations dont go to any blacks making over $250,000 because they already are making enough money.
  • SouthernYankee · 11 months ago
WELL DV HOW ABOUT HIMSELF. YOU KNOW HE IS HALF WHITE.
  • hrh · 11 months ago
Dawson's timely resigning reminds me of the Utah Cult (The second "m" is silent.) and it's shifting theology, though the powers of the magical underwear do remain constant.
  • sherifffruitfly · 11 months ago
Poor guy - wants them to like him SOOOOO bad. And they never will.
  • The Tim Channel · 11 months ago
Thanks for the heads up. Blogged it bitches and I think you might like it. One must not limit the scope of the response to only the venal sins exposed in the story. One must reach much much deeper.

    Sample:

He apparantly didn’t have a problem with their policies in the previous TWELVE years he CHOSE to play/pay there. I can’t imagine playing a good round of golf carrying around the moral burden that I’m paying large sums to support racism, and still be able to focus on a good putt!! But I digress. He obviously wouldn’t be a Republican leader with a bright future if he didn’t have the ability to rationalize and compartmentalize on a scale equal to priestly child molesters. I’m in no way suggesting that the State GOP Chairman of South Carolina, one Mr. Katon Dawson is a child molester or supporter of same.

    Enjoy.

These groups worship one thing in common with other republicans. THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.
  • Free Thinker · 11 months ago
Do you think a White Man would be let into the Black Congressional Caucas? How about get a scholarship from the United Negro College fund? You show massive ignorance and bigoted hatred in your inept statement. I guess it's only ok to exclude people when you are a minority or a democrat...huh? Man you people are sick!!!
  • red_dwarf · 11 months ago
Free Thinker - your ignorance flows as regular as your bigoted words. The South hasn't changed dip - only the party names. Nice try though.

Around here, rePigs stick out like a sore thumb, you're no exception. Get a job, or read more. God are you people brain dead.

Try this one dildo - justify the slaughter of 1,000,000 Iraqi civilians. Go ahead, continue to make a fool of yourself. There's a reason I have referred to you asswipes as rat bastards for the last 20 years. You just proved my case, once again.
  • Free Thinker · 11 months ago
Man you people are massive douches!!! First of all...i'm not a Republican. Secondly, did you just pull the number of 1 million out of your ass?!? No...you just went with the kook fringe ridiculous number on some liberal website. The estimate is actually around 160,000. That's not close to 1 million. No.3 I have a job. I guess if I were a Democrat I could get on AFDC, have babies, and lower my I.Q. by a hundred points!
  • Anonymous · 11 months ago
Someone please ban this dumb fuck already.
  • Free Thinker · 11 months ago
I also love the part about the Republicans being the Party of hate and intolerance. I don't even know where to start...your ignorance is so broad.

First and foremost...MLK was a Republican. As was Abe (you know...the guy that freed the slaves) Lincoln. The KKK was started in Tenessee by the Democrat Party in 1866 as a social club. It was known as the militant wing of the Democrat Party. Moving on through history, Democrats took control of Congress in 1892, they then passed the Repeal Act of 1894, that overturned Civil Rights Legislation passed by...can you guess...the Republicans!! What else? Oh, Democrats also enacted the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. Man they were nice people huh?

Meanwhile, Republicans were starting positive things like thye NAACP to counter the racist practices of the Democrat Party. As a matter of fact...the first Black Leader of the NAACP was a Republican! I believe James Weldon Johnson was his name.

Back to the nasty Democrats. George Wallace was a Democrat. He stood in front of an Alabama school house and said "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever!" Oh...one last caviat, Sen. Robert Byrd (D) was a former member of the KKK and is still a member of Congress. He is quoted as saying "I would rather die a thousand times and see old glory trampled in the dirt, never to rise again, than see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen of the wilds."

What's funny is that you idiots actually believe that the Democrats are for minorities. I'm out!!!
  • agentX · 11 months ago
Nice of you to note the Republican's fine works...40+ years ago!
Since that time, what have the Republicans done for black people and minorities? NOTHING!

What's funny is you're an idiot or a sellout for thinking Republicans still care about minorities. I'm in, and you stay out...of your mind!
  • Free Thinker · 11 months ago
What have the Republicans done? What have the Democrats done? Keep people on welfare so they will vote for them! That's great. Way to go!!! 67 trillion spent on the war on poverty and we have more poor now than ever.No no...you're right...the deomocrats are awesome. OH, let's not forget about their responsibility for Fannie and Freddie failing. Thanks for that. The Republicans tried numerous times to get them to reform those two. What a great idea. Let's give houses to poor people that can't afford to pay the loans back! In the process we will sink the entire economy. YEAH!!! You're right, i'm going to vote Democrat next time. First I have to get a Lobotomy.
