    Out of her element.

Puh-leeze! "Stop peeing on my leg and telling me it's raining!" as Judge Judy said. Is Sarah Palin serious? Does she believe what she says? I mean, c'mon!
  • kladinvt · 1 year ago
Notice how sometimes she loses the "ng" from her participles like "pointin' fingers" but in the next sentence she'll say "finding" like a normal person. She is a fraud who has obviously been coached to talk to stupidamerica.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
I'm not sure if she is pretending to be stupid or really is. Either way, her words are those of a 5-year olds understanding of foreign policy. Does she understand more than she lets on? I hope so as otherwise she should be institutionalized in a mental hospital. Regardless, she is definitely not qualified to be candidate for any national office, let alone a fractions of a heartbeat away from the presidency, which is the most important office not only in this nation but in the entire world. It is beyond me why stupid candidates appeal to Republican core voters. Regardless, she is a long, long line of pathetic Republicans that are apparently less qualified than some of the pet dogs that have also resided in the White House, going back before Dan Quayle to Spiro Agnew.

It says something that Republicans regard Ronald Reagan as one of the greatest all-time Presidents when Reagan was clearly suffering from Alzheimers even early in his second term.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
There is also that a 5 year old can hope to achieve a far, far greater understanding of foreign policy but, at the age of 44, I seriously question that, if Palin isn't acting stupid, she has any hope of ever acquiring such knowledge.

For all his eight years of experience in the Oval Office, Bush has advanced to the stage of a 6-year olds cowboys and indians understanding of foreign policy, sort of growing up from a Lone Ranger point of view to that of admiring the greater sophistication of John Wayne. Eight years ago, Bush didn't have the attention span to watch a movie. It took him 8 years to acquire the garvitas to sit through and entire movie before losing interest.
  • kladinvt · 1 year ago
Yes, she is an actor learning her part. Fortunately for our side time is not on hers. If she were truly sharp (and I assume that would mean having a grasp on the issues) she would at least be able to give coherent answers to some pretty basic questions.

  • powwow500 · 1 year ago
She really does believe it! I thought maybe the comment about having foreign relations cred due to proximity to Russia was something said on the spur of the moment and she didn't really mean it. But she does! Not only that, she seems to suggest by her expressions and comments that it is self evident, and that we are dolts for not "getting it." What a nincompoop.

They love their blithering idiot. There is a cabal of neo-con trash that could never get themselves elected but who would love it if McBush croaked and his blithering idiot in waiting was there for them to further shape and direct.

We've seen how amenable Palin was to having secessionist hubby Todd take an active hand in her administration. She's not a hands on governor. She's a drawbridge in waiting.

RepubCo doesn't want to elect a person to office. They want to elect an R. They don't care who's wearing it, just so it's there.

Palin is cotton candy and flowers and blue skies. They loves them some Palin and she loves them.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
She sounds like someone after a stroke, learning to put words together again.
OMG this is such a disaster for our country. Yes, she is delusional too.

    Talk about a blithering idiot:
Bill Clinton lavishes praise on McCain
    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/25...
I never thought I'd feel the disgust for Bill Clinton that I do now.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Like I said in another thread, good ol' Bill praising McCain/Palin is just trying to get under Palin's skirt.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
On an earlier thread we discussed this very issue. I first read about it on Raw Story and since then it has been widely reported. My question is why NO ONE is taking on the Clintons and their less than enthusiastic support of the Democratic candidate. Bill appears subtle but nonetheless nasty in his increased praise of McCain

Bill Clinton is getting more and more obvious in his refusal to endorse Obama. Clinton puts a knife in Obama's back with every interview. He has not made a direct nasty comment but rather by innuendo and praise of McCain/Paling it is obvious what he is doing and it is getting stronger with each interview.

Hilary is slightly better but still is virtually silent in her support.

It seems to me that the Clintons are gunning for the 2012 race. It doesn't matter to them who wins, although it would be easier if McCain wins. And to that end Bill is doing what he can to guide those Hilary voters to McCAin. It is very transparent.

I am fed up with the Clinton's pouting and sore loser attitudes. If they cannot support this candidate then get out of the way.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
If, IF Obama wins, I am hopeful he will totally shut out the Clintons in every conceivable way from the Party. Send them, metaphorically, to Siberia.

I almost feel sorry for her. She doesn't look delusional so much as just scared. It's like she realizes she's poorly prepared for the job interview and can feel it snowballing away from her. If she weren't running to be a heartbeat away from the presidency it would be pathetic. As it is, it's scary.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I don't feel sorry for her at all.....She should of said, "NO" when McCain asked her to be VP candidate.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago

  • tommytoonz · 1 year ago
The cynic in me thinks on Sunday, McCain will ditch Palin for Mitt Romney. The religious right is so whiplashed and frenzied they won't care, not with 5-6 weeks to go and the media will absolutely LOVE McCain for it because it's not just a maverick move, it's statesman-like in admitting a mistake and correcting it. The lengths Obama has to go to appease the 2 year olds on the McCain campaign and the 3 year olds in the media is astounding.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
If that is to happen, tommytoonz, it better be fast. My state begins early voting in a couple of weeks. Most likely ballots are already printed.
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
I for one would be much relieved if he dumped Palin. Mitt is not perfect by any means but he is a wiz compared to Palin.

IF McCain gets elected, and they can steal it if it is at all close, at least Mitt would be his successor if something happened. It is horrifying to think Palin would fall heir to the throne. Romney would be such an improvement.

I am serious about this. Just thinking about Palin being Pres. is almost heart-stopping. And we all know McCain isn't going to last four years. In fact if he is serious about "all for the country" he would drop out now and I really don't think the Republican party would let Palin jump into first place.
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
Did McCain pick another Dan Quayle? Can she spell "p-o-t-a-t-o-e?"
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Quayle was much smarter, and less dangerous.
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
Sad to say that there are people out there that will fall for her down to earth way of talking. People can relate to her, just like Bush. She scares me to death. We haven't heard her take questions that are really important to the american people. All I know is that the republicans would be screaming bloody murder if Obama hasn't talked and taken questions from the press. McCain only has shone that being a shoot from the hip kind of a man is not what this country needs. The last couple of days has shown that. I hope people look at his behavior and vote for Obama.
  • LGSutekh · 1 year ago
This is a comedy skit, right? Never, have I ever seen such an Olive-Oyl babbling brook of a moron with a straight face on the center political stage. Cindy McCain is smarter than this bird brain of a woman and Cindy is a first class dildo. Forget about being ashamed at having chosen this troglodyte brain stem as running mate-she gives women a bad name. Can you imagine what her offspring will grow up to become? Someone exorcise her from the human gene pool so no more will come into the light to infect us..
  • curlytoes79 · 1 year ago
I don't think she's an idiot - her intelligence seems above average but she's not qualified - in no respect is she ready to be VP or president. She's had a small-town kind of focus her entire political life...she has very little grasp of or interest in bigger issues like foreign policy. If she could screw up the courage, she'd probably admit she's not ready and drop out, but that would doom McCain...so she's stuck, plodding along with these incredibly insipid talking points. I'd almost feel sorry for her....if she wasn't part of the Dark Side.
  • nothingasitseems · 1 year ago
You probably didn't watch last night's interview. She couldn't even get a coherent thought out. She's been memorizing Rovian talking points for so long, her brain is running around in circles.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
I think you may need to re-evaluate your statement of confidence in Palin's non-idiocy and her being of above average intelligence... or you may need to start hanging around with a different crowd.

and on the "screwing up the courage" and dropping out... NOT GONNA HAPPEN ... she's convinced that she's in the VP slot by God's will...
  • curlytoes79 · 1 year ago
I'd put her at about 110 -115 IQ - smart enough to graduate college, not smart enough to be VP or president.

So, I guess that when we get attacked by alien invaders, Sarah Palin will be qualified with her foreign policy experience to take care of it because, ya know, Alaska is next door neighbors with space because Mt. McKinley is in Alaska. And if the aliens want to attack, the Alaska National Guard can use Mt. Mckinley's airspace because it would be so close to the aliens. Jesus Christ, what the FUCK does being close to another country have to do with how well you'd handle a situation of an invading country? And why the FUCK, if Russia wanted to use American airspace to attack would they come through Alaska? She is a retarded twit.

Maybe David Letterman's comment about "putting something in McCain's Metamucil" was a bit of foreshadowing. If McCain wins the White House he better do a better job of vetting his chef than he did his VP.

She reminds me of Florida's Katherine Harris. Basically, a political groupie who exploits her sexuality to suck up to powerful men. Did you see the look on Henry Kissinger's face when she gave him a full body hug yesterday? I was reminded of the video of Katherine Harris talking to a young male voter while closely leaning into him and grabbing his thigh. I don't believe it's sexist to point out women who use their femininity to seduce favor and or deflect criticism, which is exactly what Sarah Palin does. Anyone who doesn't see that Sarah Palin is an overly ambtious fraud, is permitting themselves to be seduced by a pretty face or allowing their resentment of sexism to cause them to see what they want to see rather than what she is showing them.
  • Sphy · 1 year ago

My first reaction when I learned of her nomination was "don't underestimate her." I had an image of an ambitious and highly energetic person who would work her butt off to learn enough to hold her own in any discussion of national affairs. People like that really are formidable. My error was in assuming she had a certain baseline of knowledge and intelligence.

I would definitely feel sorry for her if I thought she was an innocent person who was sucked in over her head to be used as a political pawn. But now I know that as mayor and governor she was nasty, unprincipled, and incompetent. Over her head, but hardly innocent.

There is at least one aspect of her personal life that I do not consider off limits. Her behavior around the birth of Trig was highly irresponsible. Why aren't right-to-lifers horrified at what they should perceive as criminal negligence? If they get upset over the abortion of a week-old blob of cells, they should be freaking out over risking the life of a baby hours away from birth. If the baby had died due to Palin's recklessness, that would arguably have been a homicide. Or is a fetus with Down Syndrome less of a person in their eyes?
