My tux is going to the dry cleaners tomorrow.
I'll be wearing it the night of January 20, 2009

How funny would it have been if the only thing she could think of was Brown v Board of Education?
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    More 'political gibberish' from Palin.
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
Good freakin' jebus....it's come to this...this is what was picked to serve as VP - the SECOND HIGHEST SEAT IN THE US GOVERNMENT?

To the supporters of this women.....WTF ARE YOU THINKING?

She's an embarrassment to her family, country and gender and she's ruining it for other women who aspire to higher office.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
When is one of the reporters or so called journalists going to say: "you don't make any sense on any level". I am actually begining to believe that Governors have no real duties, perform nothing and can be as dumb as a lump of playdo. To think people are equating her position to a complete understanding of the energy issues, foreign relations cause Russia is 20 miles away and can't name a newspaper she has read, thought of any legal issues that concern here, doesn't know how much oil is used in the U.S.
In terms of evolution, which she denies exists, she is genetically related to a lump of mud.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
well, Katie, i sorta disagree with the Dred Scott decision of 1857. if a slave is clever enough to escape to the north, you should let him go.

All the Golden Goddesses! Why didn't McCain just choose a cabbage as his running mate?
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
    Apparently he did.
  • RobertSanDimas · 1 year ago
If she tries that kind of horsehockey tomorrow night I would love to hear Sen. Biden say, "If Gov. Palin doesn't want to answer the question, I will."
    (Sockerhockey? Mamahockey? Icehockey? Russiawatcherhockey?).

The only one as stoopid is Amanda of Townhall
  • anneeeliz · 1 year ago
John, you left out the first part, where she affirms the constitution has a right to privacy. Seriously. Couric is like, "Um, that's the cornerstone of Roe v Wade...?"

I'm shocked she didn't say that she disagreed with ALL of them, ANY of them!

Bullshit on top of Bullshit and then more Bullshit
  • grandma · 1 year ago
On The View today they played the clip of Palin's comments about Biden in her interview with Couric

Joy said "the fact that she was so dumb as to say......" ......they then quickly changed 'dumb' to 'not politically astute'

    I bet Elisabeth started crying...
  • iWoman · 1 year ago
Even Barbara was ticked off at Elisabeth today. It was pretty entertaining.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
It doesn't matter how well she does in tomorrows debate, this level of dumbass displayed will hang on her for the rest of the election season.
  • Laur · 1 year ago
From keyboard to God's/Goddess'/FSM's ear (or noodly appendage)!
  • dad · 1 year ago
    sad.
  • lisainWA · 1 year ago
I can't even watch it. It makes me cringe thinking about it. Does her mind go blank? Surely she knows something better to say then blah, blah, blah nothing. I mean does she? The evidence keeps mounting that she doesn't and I'm just... well speechless I guess.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
If this is any indication, how could she possibly do well in the debate? She can't answer a question well. She can't even respond to a question well. All she can do is give a speech to the converted. This is astounding. It's a sad day when the best thing you can say about a candidacy is that it made Dan Quayle feel a little smarter.
  • jdeisenberg · 1 year ago
Good grief. I took me about 30 seconds to come up with two decisions I don't agree with: (1) Dred Scott (2) the recent eminent domain decision, though I can't name that case by the parties involved ("A vs. B"). First one isn't even remotely controversial; second one might be. And I'm no great history maven, either.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
my immediate thought was 'Brown vs the Board of Education'.......maybe Sarah didn't learn that one in school.

Oops....Couric's question was 'which you disagree with.'

    my bad
  • okojo · 1 year ago
The eminent domain case I believe you are referring to is Kelo v. City of New London (2005)

Actually, I don't like the Supreme Court decision Nix v. Hedden (1893)
which declared Tomato as a vegetable. It is a fruit, gawdamnit!! (it is actually a berry)
  • michaelt · 1 year ago
what an insult. to each and every one of us. just the fact that this unqualified neophyte was nominated and STILL REMAINS is further proof that this country took a tumble 8 years ago. it remains to be seen if we're going to get back up.

    OT -

Major insurance company on the verge of bankruptcy?

If no bailout, then yes, according to Harry Reid.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/PersonalFinance/...

Any guesses as to which major insurance company?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
If I had to guess, I would choose Allstate. They've been having financial problems for awhile now...cancelling policies right and left here in Texas...
  • fostert · 1 year ago
She made a public statement about Exxon v Baker. But she can't remember the case. Where do you go from there? She's either poseur, a liar, or an idiot. Take your pick, but we've got a great offer today. You can pick all three!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Keith Olbermann JUST said this on his show tonight
  • Laur · 1 year ago
If Palin performs well in the debate, it might make the public wonder if she'd been deceiving them before that.

In her Couric and Gibson interviews, she sounded like Miss Teen South Carolina did last year. She does not answer any question directly, and the voters don't like to have someone blowing smoke up its ass once suspicion has been aroused.

I'm afraid that we might wind up having to give Couric credit, just for conducting the interview. That would be after the election, if it goes as it should go.

    Loved what SNL did last Saturday--showed a split-screen & Palin's own words.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
Agreed. If she suddenly comes out as capable, why the delay? It will only arouse more suspicion.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Maybe she get's 'stage fright' without a prepared speech??
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
OK, now Palin is painfully embarrassing. What were Alaskans thinking when they voted this nimwit for Governor. D'oh!
  • grandma · 1 year ago
ANCHORAGE — When Gov. Sarah Palin meets Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Thursday in the vice-presidential debate, even her fellow Alaskans might hear for the first time some of her views on health care reform, education policy and other issues of state government.

So, I guess Alaska is the "Alabama" of the Pacific Northwest?
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
I've said it many times here..."YES". My impression of Wasilla inhabitants are that they are folks who moved there from Alabama because they thought that silly law keeping you from marrying your sister was WAY to strict.

Frankly, I am not surprised at all that she couldn't even name a single case other than Roe v. Wade or that she could not name a periodical which she has read. The Wasillans are not exactly literate folk, as a whole. One of the very few intelligent conversations I had with people in town was with the local librarian....whom Palin tried to have fired for not banning books.

    They are very closed minded.
  • woodroad34 · 1 year ago
Her voice, her voice! Not only is she immensely stupid on a national scale, that nasal whine couldn't get her a comedy as a Nanny. She appears to think a state should decide everything, in which case the Supreme Court would be useless. I guess she doesn't want a UNITED States (so why is she running for a VP position...just stay the inept Governor of a state that has less people than Los Angeles or New York) or she doesn't want anyone--or thing--higher than her bouffant to make decisions she doesn't agree with. She is an airhead...I don't care how much her parents like her. And she kinda let slip her reason for charging for rape kits.
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
She's eternally stuck in beauty pageant mode. She's more concerned about how she 'looks' answering the questions than she is about the actual words in her answers.

[Tina Fey should write a great 'Sarah Reminisces - My Beauty Pageant Bitch Days' skit. ; ]
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
She seems to be adept at changing the question/answer to something she actually knows. Then it SEEMS like she is answering the damn question.
  • Wolfsinger · 1 year ago
    Oh My God!

Yeah. And Dred Scott was a pirate right Sarah?

    OMG!!!
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
I guess it's time to pull out the video of Miss South Carolina and US Americans, AGAIN this week. Will it ever end?!?!?
  • heidi8 · 1 year ago
Can we now assume that she's good with the ruling in Lawrence v. Texas?
  • sherifffruitfly · 1 year ago
    "Palin on the Supreme Court"

The use of those words in that particular order is extremely disturbing.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Everytime I log on here, it's something new. Sarah Palin, the gift that just KEEPS on giving.

I think I'll get a glass of wine and sink back in the couch tomorrow night and watch what happens...
  • okojo · 1 year ago
I'll answer some for her, Hamdan v. Rumsfeld and from the last session..
Kennedy v. Lousiana which stopped the execution for child rape. Those are two ones that she can throw to the right wing..

She isn't ready for prime time, or even Saturday Night LIve. I think a McCain/Fey ticket is more plausible.

She truly doesn't know, and slogans and rehash talking points can't cover it up..
  • boloboffin · 1 year ago
She probably wouldn't say this, but I'd go with Bush v. Gore right off the bat.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
seriously....i thought up 5 off the top of my head
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Let's face it: Selecting Palin has been a fatal error and Obama / Biden will win the election.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
fine with me. Nothing short of pictures of Obama smoking a crack pipe, while being "topped" by a male hooker AND taking a bribe will win the election for them now.

I' m taking vacation on jan 20th. I need to order some champaign
  • davidinchelseama · 1 year ago
Pull her string and she keeps repeating,"...if I'm so privileged to serve."
  • Bronx2216 · 1 year ago
Does anyone get that her answers are just really spun versions of how a neophyte pagent contestant answers questions? She gives these repetitious non-answers. As smart as the punditocracy claim her to be based on her ascent from nowhere to governor of Alaska; I wonder - if it wasn't Alaska if this woman wouldn't have been chewed up and spit out if she were competing in a more populous state like Michigan or Ohio or Connecticut...if her interviews are evidence of anything, perhaps it shows (through lack) that her talents lie more in the area of political acumen and that she is merely a right-wing Xtianist hack who is driven by devotion to ideology rather than any real intellect? I just hope she continues to do more damage to the Rethuglican Brand and McCain and Palin are merely a footnote to history in November.
