What is a good-old-boys party to do when running vs. a minority, who is young and hip and popular, when they can't compete but have no desire to change. How about finding the least qualified candidate they can, with mucho problemos, who is young and hip and attractive, not vett her, let the left do the work (a well-entrenched Rovian manuever) and then pretend to 'bow to public pressure', replacing her with another old white dude, not because They want to but because We forced them to, We weren't happy with their young, hip choice, We are impossible to please, We didn't think their young, hip choice was good enough, it's all Our fault, and because of Us, They are Forced to replace the 'new' candidate with the same old, same old. I guess it's possible none of this was a mistake in the first place. The McCain camp could either be really, really stupid, or really, really smart. Sigh.

Why in a state where Sarah is so allegedly popular are so many of those interviewed just spilling their guts? Do the Alaskans know something we should know? I would have expected a circle-the-wagons type of reaction, but so far, that doesn't appear to be happening. Admittedly, the parent part of me wants to believe that it's due to this forced marriage between her daughter and her young man. Article I just read describes the young man as having "great potential." Alaskans do strike me as real independent cusses, which has me wondering if the locals aren't resenting the meddling going on in these young people's lives for the sake of Sarah's ambitions?

I don't care what anyone says. The Bristol Palin story MATTERS because of her mother's policy stands on sex education and abortion. Her mom said Bristol made the decision to keep her baby. That "decision" needs to be explained further. It sounds a lot like Mama believes in making OTHER young girls have their babies but gives Bristol a "CHOICE." Now, as far as sex education is concerned, Mama Palin believes in ABSTINENCE ONLY education. How did Abstinence Education work out for Bristol? Hmmmm?

Jindal makes the Reichwingers happy and America falls in love with him because of the great job he did during Gustav. Sad but true.

The daddy of Bristol's child to be is one Levi Johnson, 18. A hockey player appropriately enough. He has a delightful Myspace page, again obviously not seen by the McCain vetters (or rather, non-vetters) which is referenced in this Huff Post article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/01/levi-j... In it, he uses some delightfully colourful language such as (edited for content): "But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s- - - and just f - - -in' chillin' I guess."
"Ya f - - - with me I'll kick [your] ass," he added.

Here's the deal. Obama says family is off limits. Yet, when he vetted his veeps he delved into thir family business and according to evan bayu requested to see his kids' my space and facebook pages. Once you post on the internet it becomes public property. Employers even tap myspace and facebook to learn things about furture employees. I had one employer tell me that he has turned down a number of of interviewees based on their facebook or myspace pages. So though it seems unfair, once you put it out there it is open season. Actually, I think Palin might get sued because she named the boy in her statement. Bottom line, this is not about Bristol or Palin, this about McCain. He a'int fit to lead.

Sarah Palin WAS vetted -- by Dobson's boys. According to Max Blumenthal.
Last week, while the media focused almost obsessively on the DNC's spectacle in Denver, the country's most influential conservatives met quietly at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis to get to know Sarah Palin. The assembled were members of the Council for National Policy, an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy.
CNP members have included Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Grover Norquist, Tim LaHaye and Paul Weyrich. At a secret 2000 meeting of the CNP, George W. Bush promised to nominate only pro-life judges; in 2004, then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist told the group, "The destiny of the nation is on the shoulders of the conservative movement." This year, thanks to Sarah Palin's selection, the movement may have finally aligned itself behind the campaign of John McCain.

I have been indescribably furious over this veep nom since I heard about it. This place has been a haven for me for the last few days. keep up the great work.
I hope the blogs keep digging up the dirt, the more McCain et al is trying to spin their way out of trouble, the easier time Obama and the Dems have selling our message. The best part, this isn't made up swiftboating crap, McCain/Palin is handing this stuff to us on silver platters.
I would love to see her in a debate with Biden. Let's watch what we wish for here and think about the consequences in having a more serious VP nomination from the Republicans.
I been walking around all day laughing to myself about this better than fiction McSame/Palin crap.
"I've done all the homework....we can take Iran"
or maybe in Karl Rove's house...
What I have read, pretty good article. But the GOP attack dogs will come out and say, I mean whine, "it's a liberal newspaper" , "they are un-American", "they have no family values", and McCain is a POW!
In it, he uses some delightfully colourful language such as (edited for content):
"But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s- - - and just f - - -in' chillin' I guess."
"Ya f - - - with me I'll kick [your] ass," he added.
He also claims to be "in a relationship," but states, "I don't want kids."
Probably too busy being Governor to know what her kids were doing, well, obviously we know ONE of them she wasn't keeping an eye on for sure!
Both Republican woman flipped the fuck out when asked if this reflects on Sarah!!!
So, Mommy is busy and that's a great asset....but she's not to take any responsibility for it.
None.
David Corn, "It doesn't make any sense for John McCain to have spoken with her only THREE TIMES before picking Palin to be his choice of someone to replace him to become leader of the free world..."
Idiot Republican, "It does make sense... maybe not to you, but it does make sense..."
BWAH HAHAHAAAAAA!
The Republican Strategist also expressed hope Palin was vetted like the McCain camp has claimed she was. She said she was giving them the benefit of the doubt, but didn't look or sound convincing at all.

Priceless line!
I bet they milk this story for all it's worth though.

but apparently, not an open secret amongst Team McCain.
And this guy wants to lead the country, including the intelligence services?
Debate question submitted by "HoustonRay"
"Gov Palin, what are your thoughts on abstinence only education programs??"
"On his MySpace page, Johnston boasts, "I'm a f - - -in' redneck" who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes.
======================
Oops... he flatly states he doesn't want kids.
Mama Palin should have allowed something besides "abstinence only" education in public schools!
I think he lost his temper again and had a temper tantrum, like a little baby.

Even if (like me) you weren't going to vote for McCain, you have to be shocked by what a monumentally bad move this was.
I think she will withdraw her name and act like she just coud not continue to go forward, sujecting her family to the cruelty of people like us.
