I volunteer to be the one to hand this to Hillary and make her read it. And then advise her on how to exit gracefully.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Exactly.

    The Clintons have no class.

Actually, this is the kind of dogged determination and willing to trash the whole party attitude that has proven so successful for the Republicans with dire consequences for the nation. Do we really want another 4-8 years of Republican style "to hell with the good of the country, I am going to get my way" politics.

On the other hand, has the party really become as weak and pusillanimous as to prove the Republican's point - we are just too weak kneed to do what is necessary to confront the bullies within our own part let alone in the world?

It is amazing that the party leaders fail to understand how their constant inability to take a stand and brave the heat has harmed the party on everything from Iraq to constitutional rights to selecting our nominee. Perhaps it is time to create a new party. This one seems to live with its tail between its legs.

Perfectly stated... I have to admit that I'm really saddened that I backed Bill during his impeachment. So they're from Arkansas huh? You don't say.

Not that I endorse comparing Hillary to the person depicted in the video, this should be a good laugh for most here. It's entitled 'Hillary's Downfall'

Boston Globe: Clinton's diminishing of black voters

The problem for Clinton is that this is another case in which her math does not add up. Yes, every voter the Democrats can get their hands on is critical. But all this talk about Obama not connecting with salt of the earth white folks cynically forgets that white leaders in the Democratic Party have not solved this problem since Jimmy Carter's 48 percent of the white vote in 1976, yet want to make Obama the poster child for it despite his multi-racial crowds and record turnouts of voters. In the late throes of her insurgency, to borrow from Dick Cheney, Clinton is playing "divide and doubt" about Obama getting "only" 37 percent of the white vote in North Carolina and Pennsylvania and 40 percent in Indiana.
    ....
Bill Clinton won the presidency in 1992 in three-way races with a grand total of 39 percent of the white vote and 83 percent of the black vote and 61 percent of the Hispanic vote and besting the first President Bush and Ross Perot among all age groups.

    dad, great cartoon!

Seems that the whole Clinton Star is falling. Not just Hillary and her determination to keep the US Government in the hands of the Bush/Clinton cabal (where it has effectively been since 1982) but the whole Clinton myth. Seems to be more riding on this Dem nomination than there is on the Presidential battle itself.

Also, if Hillary is going to argue that she has the white vote, she would've won the nomination already. Since the white vote is what...about 70% of the electorate. So she doesn't really have the white vote, or the states, or the pledged delegates and she's losing the supers. Speaking of which, when are they going to bloody decide? This can't continue until mid-June.

Good cartoon Dad! It's probably what will happen too, unfortunately.

Bush Bites, I don't think I would be happy with a Webb VP, but whatever it takes to win the general

I can't help thinking, would the clintons be putting up this fight if it was edwards in obamas position? And if they would, would they be harping on "electability"? I cant imagine them making that arguement in that scenario, it just further cements in my mind that the clintons are capitalizing on the race card and its starting to make me sick.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
You know that Obama will have to pick a white VP (although former white candidates never were under pressure to pick a black one). That said, I just can't think of anyone offhand, as I don't believe in anyone from the military being a potential prez (sorry, Webb & Clark supporters). Don't think Edwards is interested and he's seen as another progressive, but what's wrong with that? Nobody squawked when Bush picked Cheney, for chrissakes...and set up the Fourth Reich.

Nigel, yes, considering some of them are guarding Obama. You have to consider the culture under which they're hired, as well.

Hillary fits the Family Annihilator criminal profile. She's willing to destroy our party. She's the political Chris Benoit

Martha Nussbaum, the bright and articulate professor of philosophy, has argued "shame" serves no moral or useful purpose. I think it does, frankly, but only among those who have integrity, dignity, and honor -- which, for the Clintons, would be as foreign as Bosnia, and shell-shot as close. Or was that "off" the Oval Office, while "on" the telephone, "with" a subordinate giving her "commander in chief" her fealty, and he her DNA? Oh, hell, they'll change the story tomorrow. Who knows anymore? Shame, were is your cynicism?
