AMERICAblog: BREAKING AP: Hillary won't concede tonight

  • Milli · 1 year ago
Ted Kennedy said that Obama doesn't need to have the Clintons up his butt for 8 years.
  • Hardy_Haberman · 1 year ago
If Obama picked Clinton as a running mate, he would also have to employ a food taster for the remainder of his presidency.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Guys, the Hillary trolls are giving all of us negative ratings to be assholes. Some of you have mentioned this to me, and some of you have been annoyed by it. The best way to fight it is to give every comment, by everyone you know who is a regular and good, positive rating with the arrows to the left of the comment.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
Thanks for that. I wondered why I was at like, a -2 not long ago... :-/
  • Sugapea · 1 year ago
I was at #4 when I started this thread...
Now I'm down to #1. And I've never reached 12 like you, OR!
It would be easier to go along to get along...

I'm only trying to show the other side of the equation and help Obama peeps to see the great success we will undoubtedly have with a compromise.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
Well said, Sugapea. Balance is a good thing, and I hardly liken you to the people who represented Hillary this past Saturday. There needs to be more like you and less like them if you want my opnion.

And trust me - I'm just as surprised at my improved ratings as I was being a -2 a few weeks ago. And, like you I only give positive ratings. Hell, I didn't even know I could give ratings until today :-o
  • Sugapea · 1 year ago
John, I only give positive ratings...not negative.
Everything here on this blog is so one-sided, I would think you would appreciate an opposing view from a staunch Dem once in awhile. Unlike the Pubs who only walk lockstep together over the cliff. Balance is the key!

    "She's still lying in wait."

    Great double-entendre. Lying, indeed.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
With all seriousness though, I wonder if this is the media's way of telling Clinton to get the hell out?

Cause as you all know, the media is the mouth piece of the oiligarchy.....

    Enough!

Let's just all admit that WE DON"T KNOW what she is going to say tonight and move on to other discussions.

If Hillary does not concede tonight it is total proof that she doesn't care about our country or the Democratic Party. She only cares about herself and her and Bills ambitions. Surely the woman has more integrity than that??
Well, she hasn't lately with her lies, distortions, false promises, pandering so guess maybe we shouldn't expect it now.
Hillary, it is time for the party to unite. It is time for you to bow out "gracefully" if that can be accomplished at this point. Quit this nonsense!!
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
The moment Hillary endorsed McCain over Obama was when she proved she does not care about this country, the Democratic party and especially her own supporters. By that endorsement, she told us it is OK with her to insure a continued illegal war with Iraq. It is perfectly fine to sit back and allow McCain and the neocons to expand their "march to Democracy" into Iran. It's no big deal that McCain will insure Wall Street continues it's rape and pillage of our tax dollars, insure polluters will continuing soiling our water, air and food sources with less regulation, insure our Constitutional rights continue to evaporate, insure HMO's and Big Pharma get to decide who is worthy of health care and who is not, insure our troops will be used up and tossed away like garbage to preserve the lucrative war profiteering business, insure working class Americans will have no protections or labor rights, insure American companies continue to ship our jobs oversees and get a tax break for doing it, insure a continued politicalization of our justice department and INSURE every female US citizen no longer has any rights to her own body. Hillary told us months ago who she is and what she believes is best for this country. She has never backed down from that. Hillary going into the night with grace and class and putting this country before her own ambition? No way. Her betrayal was complete in February.

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, a staunch backer of Sen. Hillary Clinton, said Monday he's preparing to endorse her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, for president when Obama takes the stage at the Xcel Energy Center tonight.

"I'm going to certainly attend as the mayor of St. Paul hosting the presumptive nominee," Coleman, a member of Clinton's Minnesota steering committee, told the Pioneer Press. "I certainly expect to endorse Barack tomorrow night after all the votes are counted. The outcome will be clear. Out of respect for Senator Clinton, I'm going to give her a chance to make her statement, but ...." He didn't complete the thought.

But if she doesn't concede? "I'm not going to speculate, but the party needs to unite," Coleman said.

    Sweet!! Thanks for that update!
  • txexspeedy · 1 year ago
JA you had it down cold except she went even further and isn't even suspending. WOW! Obama should just say you know what FU and Penn I am not helping you pay for Sh_t . Lets see how much more in debt she goes.

This is horrible she is only conceding he has more delegate NOW. As always her mantra "ALL delegates Supers and Non-Supers can vote the way they want at the convention" so screw the voters and all the BS I was saying about the will of the people. As the guy in "Princess Bride" would say "INCONCEIVABLE!!!!"
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
CNN senior political correspondent Candy Crowley reported that "only a handful of people at the inner core of the Clinton campaign knows what she's thinking about doing when Tuesday's dust settles, adding that "those who have been with her since nearly the beginning are saying she will not push this into the convention. As one close Clinton supporter put it, she's acutely aware of her place in the party. She will not ruin the party."

She is getting off on all this. "Ooooh, all eyes are on ME!! Everyone is wondering what I am going to do! I have so much power! Look at me, I am the Queen of Everything!"

Just the fact that people can say "she will not ruin the party means that she gets to think she has the power to ruin the party. What an ego trip -- one she can't resist.

Newsmax has put out an email saying there is some bombshell recording of Michelle Obama making racist remarks that the whole GOP is scrambling to find and I would guess the Camp Hillary.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Yeah, we've already discussed that one. It's one uber-pro-hillary site that's been claiming it for weeks, with no evidence. They were going to release a bombshell video yesterday morning at 9. Never came. What a surprise.

    IT'S WAR NOW!
  • Bluestocking · 1 year ago
C'mon, folks...we all know why they're doing this. One of the things which 24-7 news has unfortunately brought us is the media's need to at least give the appearance of coming up with fresh news by putting a new spin on an old story (despite the number of stories, such as those on ProjectCensored.org, which they could be reporting but which other people most definitely do not want to see the light of day). First, they claim that she'll concede, and then they claim that she's not giving up, then that other people are pressuring her to concede...back and forth, back and forth, day in and day out. Of course, when that starts seeming a bit too repetitive, there's always the latest celebrity scandal for them to trot out...
  • Bobby · 1 year ago
THAT TEARS IT! TIME FOR US OBAMA SUPPORTERS TO FIGHT FOR OUR MAN! HILLARY, YOU WILL NOT STEAL THIS NOMINATION FROM OBAMA! BLACK PEOPLE HAVE BEEN OPPRESSED FOR TOO LONG! HE WON THIS FAIR AND SQUARE.....YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE AND YOU BLEW IT.....NOW IF YOU DON'T WALK AWAY, WE WILL DESTROY YOU!

    I AM PISSED OFF!!!!!
(Sorry for using all caps. In this case, I had to!)
  • Apphouse50 · 1 year ago
It would be pathetic if it weren't so characteristically manipulative and egregiously ambitious. But pathos implying sympathy, I refuse to characterize this news as simply sad and pitiable, because it smacks not of madness but of a lust for power that is dangerous beyond comprehension.

I feel no remorse about saying plainly: Hillary Clinton is goddamned evil.

Where are those astronauts, they left a crew member behind.
    Houston we've got a problem.
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
    Some obvious points:

    1) There are two primaries going on as we speak. Of course the Clinton campaign is going to deny that they are conceding tonight. That's politics 101. So don't believe the rumors during the day.

    2) The situation is likely very fluid today - discussions back and forth between the two campaigns. It's called negotiating. It's likely no one knows what will happen yet.

    3) Ted Kennedy and Jesse Jackson in 1980 and 1988 respectively did far less well than Clinton, yet went on to the convention. Did they face the same demands? Of course not. This is what drives (from what they tell me - I'm an Obama supporter) Clinton supporters up the wall and convinces them that she is being treated unfairly. You know what? There is some basis for that.

Let's see what happens before making judgments.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
And we lost in 1980 and 1988.
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
And that's why she shouldn't take it to the convention as she did. But that's 10 weeks from now. An endorsement by the end of the week would be pefectly fine.

There are 17 million people who voted for Clinton. A sizeable minority of them are hurting badly. We need to respect that, if not out of graciousness, then just political reality. Yes, how she handles herself is how she will be judged in the future. But the historical fact is that she is being asked to do what no other candidate who came this close to be nominated has ever been done - and people know that. Demanding to hard could possibly cost Obama the election - as of course her handling things badly could as well.

We don't know what is happening. i just fear overreacting by Obama supporters could have a negative impact.
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
Yeah, totally agree, though I think Clinton's exhausted the graciousness of the Democratic party and the need to respect her and her supporters is purely a political reality. I'm curious whether the VP position is equally so
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
The problem is, the girl who cried wolf is on her tenth "be nice to me for a few more days" moment. It's gotten old. And we don't trust her any more. It's not about giving her time to heal her wounds, she's going to use 3 more days to screw Obama again.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
I'm personally ok with her conceding on her own time, and I feel I've made a true effort at grace with regards to Clinton's supporters (no matter how badly they're dinging my rating here).

I do draw the line though, when she:

    a) Bashes Obama
    b) is the subject of *any* VP talks
    c) spreads blatant falsehoods
    d) conveniently has no comment to all the crap her supporters were doing at Saturday's meeting including handing out false literature

Unfortunately, those instances are all too frequent. I wish Clinton's supporters could also show some respect for the *process* itself, and maybe try to call their candidate back to the civilized dinner table.

It just seems like compromise is impossible with them, after watching Saturday's drama. I hope I'm wrong, because the last thing we need is more fracture ... but at this point I think the Obama campaign has been more than gracious.

I didn't buy your stupid book either, Hillary!
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
    I bought Bill's :-(

Well at least I have not read it. Maybe my instincts were telling me something.
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
Frankly, I don't know if this really needs to be blown up quite this much. It was back in February 2007 that Obama announced his candidacy and arguably when the primary contest between him and Clinton began; what difference does a couple of days make? Whilst I find the Clinton tactics over this period as unpalatable as the next person, I can see the logic in her not suspending her campaign and waiting for firm discussions between the camps as to a way forward.
  • lovepeaceandallthat · 1 year ago
Your point makes sense on one level. But I think why so many Obama supporters are disgusted and impatient and going crazy is that we don't TRUST her. Perhaps a "normal" opponent we would respect if they stayed in until the end. But Hillary has lied over and over and over and we don't trust her intentions.

Every election is unique, right? There are a lot of factors in play, not just numbers and charts and calendars. The fact is that our country is very nearly lost -- the very foundations are being ripped up. We want ACTION, not game playing. We want Hillary and every other democrat to follow the rules, choose a winner, then get on with it!! We need to win, and the FACT is that she is impeding us winning.
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
Yeah, again, I'm not sure how a matter of days is going to change this. This notion of Clinton impeding the democratic party from winning just doesn't stand up to scrutiny and I think at the end of this process everyone will look back and think something like:

man that Hillary Clinton was a bitch, but you know what, in the long run her attacks vetted a candidate who, let's be frank, even the stanchest Obama supporter has to admit, was largely getting a free ride
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Has anyone realized that HillBilly may give us fifty years of a far right Supreme Court which will set us back to 1954? Go home, bitch.
  • txexspeedy · 1 year ago
That's exactly what felt instinctively. Mostly because at her core she is a corporatist and capitalist only slightly removed from the GOP and purely for political motivation is she a democrat. I am sure back in the day she did believe in the cause. BUT she is far away from that world and life on the nice side of town is good, and power feels good. Why wouldn't she go where the $ is once she is set for life.

  • vwcat · 1 year ago
Obama will not give the vp to Hillary. All he has to do is bring up or show whatever they have on Bill's behavior of the past 8 years and tell them, no.
The Clintons have way too much garbage to ever get past the vetting.
I think Obama may let her fiddle with Health Care- with certain stipulations so she doesn't screw it up again.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
I think Obama has been asked by Hillary, he's NOT having it. That's why she is still in.....
  • txexspeedy · 1 year ago
He needs to put her somewhere with more influence than she currently has. But I cannot see any Cabinet position that she would be satisfied with. We have already had female Sec.s of State. Maybe Ambassador to the U.N.?
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
I agree it's unlikely though I don't see how Bill's behaviour really has any bearing. Nonetheless if you're Obama you have to wonder what is the smart thing to do with a candidate who almost split the delegates and popular vote with you...
  • luvie · 1 year ago
Hillary will never concede to Obama because she has experience and this inexperienced senator caught the Clinton machine when it needed some oil. If she is trying to get something on Obama she should know this:
When Bill can't zip the lip, the fly has been down and he's been around. Obama won't use this attack but the republicans will show no mercy.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
Exactly. At least Obama (UNLIKE CLINTON) has been tested this election season. Something McCain match-up polls don't take into account.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Where does all this talk about giving Hil ANYTHING come from?
The bitch deserves to be pushed over a thousand-foot cliff along with her serial adulterer husband and most of her advisors. If Obama were to give her anything, I would lose about 50%+ of my respect and trust for him. He be just plumb crazy to make her VP or put her on the Supreme Court which has enough problems as it is. Anyway she said shes gonna work her heart out to support the democratic nominee, a fact I for one severly doubt.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
    .... and another thing...

I don't want hiliary as VEEP!!!!

She's done to much damage already for that. And her ego is way to big to be the second banana! Period end.
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
So if Hillary is the VP she would have to endorse Obama as President and say that he is ready to be the Commander in Chief, and the GOP will say well were you lying before when you said he wasn't ready or are you lying now.

The Clinton's are a disgrace to the Democratic party. How much more time does she need to realize that she lost, reality is not one of her strengths.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
AMEN! I'm not even sure I'd want Hillary's "help" in any form, if I were Obama...
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I was watching a Discovery Channel show about, The World Without People, or some such online. It was really amazing. Within about 500 years, there would be no traces of us left visible. Nothing about our preserved culture. But in over 250,000 years, Mt. Rushmore would still be there. And "they would probably look at that in awe." The pyramids would be covered in sand again.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
I think Hillary wants to control the news so she can steal Obama's thunder and his magic hour.
However, only the media can decide which it is to be. Focus on the loser because she is CLINTON or focus on the first African American nominee of a major party who defeated the most awesome machine in politics and inspires millions of Americans.
It's up the media which it will be.
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
Whilst the anger towards Clinton is totally justified I'm really surprised by the fact that no one accepts the political expediency of the Obama/Clinton ticket. Maybe Obama did deny her it, but I think he'd be crazy not to have seriously considered it, you tell me a better way to assuage 17 million angry white working class, female octogenarians...
  • txexspeedy · 1 year ago
SCOTUS, but can we trust her. Anyway her supporters would accept that. If she screws us/them then it their fault.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
I think he can win it with or without her. Many of her white older rural voters won't vote for Obama anyway - Why taint the ticket for their sake? If they can't vote like real Progressives (against all that McSame stands for), then I have a real hard time regarding them as team members anyway.

    That's really sad, but true.

    *shrug*
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
Can he win it without her? Probably. Is he more likely to win it with her? Probably....

I'm not totally sold on this Obama/Clinton idea myself I'm just expressing surprise that so many Obama supporters can't take a step back and realise that what's good for the party is good for their candidate. Seems to me this is a criticism everyone's leveling (very fairly I should add) against the Clintons.

It's either "I'm a Clinton Supporter and it's either her or McCain" or it's "I'm an Obama Supporter and I don't want that bitch anywhere near my candidate's ticket"...just seems a little shortsighted and I would like to think we Obama supporters are wise, sanguine sorts...
  • c1 · 1 year ago
I disagree, but I'm also from rural Oregon and am going based on actual people I talk to here. People who normally vote Republican or Independent, but simply will _not_ vote for Obama if Clinton is in the mix.

So the question is, do you sacrifice all those moderate Reps and Independents for a constituency that is largely fueled by racism & Muslim rumer-mongering? (read: WV & KY)

I think this country deserves better than hearing all about the Clinton baggage for the next 5 months, personally. It may not be fair to Clinton*, but it is what it is, ya know? :(

*except after seeing how she's run this campaign, which would alone, undermine the credibility of a joint ticket at this point.
  • jamesdgm · 1 year ago
Again, I'm not trying to sell the ticket, largely playing devil's advocate actually, but it seems to me that by worrying about some Republican and Independant voters (not to mentioned neglecting to mention the fallout in the reverse, the staunchly pro-Clinton supporters) who might be scared off by Clinton's presence on the ticket you're largely missing the point. The main thing the Democrats have going for them at the moment is the sheer level of participation and voter turnout. There's such a huge amount of people actively involved in and voting for these two campaigns that, as I mentioned before, if the schism between the campaigns can be breached there really appears no way they can lose in the general election. Also you're not really acknowledging any of the assets Clinton brings: experience, great policy understanding (I would hope even the most partisan Obama supporter could acknowledge that) and 17 million voters... to name a few
  • c1 · 1 year ago
I hear ya, and actually I can honestly say 5 months ago I said fervently that even though I've had enough Bush/Clinton, that the Clintons still did well for us in the 90's, and that IF Clinton were to be the nominee - I would definitely vote for her and be content that we had someone who would be a good president. Even though my heart's been with Obama from the start.

Fast forward 5 months, and I've seen her behave in a way that frankly isn't befitting of anyone wanting to occupy the Presidential office - or by extension, the VP. It's horribly sad, really. Because you're right - she does have a vast amount of experience, policy understanding, etc.

It's just really too bad that experience no longer appears to be coupled with grace, humility, and a sense of fair play :(

The turnout and participation is awesome though, and we DO need to do everything possible to keep everyone in the fold. Maybe it's just the press, but I perceive the Clinton supporters as totally hating Obama and probably being of no help without her being top of the ticket. Most non-political junkie everyday progressives are just excited to get *either* of them in there (no stip's) so we can flush McCain out IMO.

Again, just my perception, and there's never anything wrong with playing devil's advocate ;)
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
The country is split on this and I think that means they want BOTH on the ticket.

Step back a minute and see the world from the viewpoint of the average person who is not participating on blogs. THEY think the dream ticket is a good idea. it may be we are too close to see the big picture with too many disses between the supporters.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Yes, but she's proven herself to be totally untrustworthy. Sure, to America it looks great. But we know what will really happen. She'll be knifing him all the way to the White House and beyond. I can just see election night now: "It's really Hillary's night."
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
You may be right, especially if the media really starts a push in Clinton's direction. The media controls the message and pushes sheep in the direction they want. I still cannot believe Clinton would be the VP selection.

But first things first, she needs to get out of the race and it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Like I said yesterday, she is going to run up to the podium on Jan 9, rip away the swearing in bible from Obama and state "I am the president because I am better".

Just read a piece where McCain is lavishing praise on Hillary. I onder if she wil jump ship and be his running mate? Another Joe Leiberman, just what we need!

Appalachia didn't vote for Hillary because she was a woman. They voted for Hillary because she wasn't Black. Guess what? If Obama chooses Hillary to be his running mate, he will still be Black. Guess what else? Appalachia still won't vote for him. There's nothing to be done about that. Not making Hillary his VP. Not making Jack Daniels his VP. So you move on. In much the same way that you'll never convince crazy-ass, gun-toting, rapture-craving loons that George Bush WASN'T sent here by god, you'll never convince a goodly number of these Hillary voters to come around to voting for a Black man, simply because Hillary's his veep. Hell, they may view that as an additional slap--that a White woman has to be subordinate to a Black man. So let's move on. Anyone who's going to vote for McCain if Hillary isn't the Dem nominee for President, is going to vote for McCain even if Hillary is the nominee for VP.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
VERY good point, about Hill's white constituency. I totally agree about not forsaking crossovers for the hicks that won't vote Obama anyway, but didn't even think about the possible backfiring due to having a white playing second fiddle to a black. Talk about getting their ketchup stained wifebeaters in a knot.. lol

Yes it is annoying as hell. Isn't there a way to drop this damn rating system? Those sneaky little bastards haven't got the guts to have a conversation, their idea is too just hit the down arrow.

Since the issue has been raised, can someone please explain to me what these points mean? I don't read through these posts clicking on those I like or dislike. Should I be doing that? What happens when I get a lot of points? Green Stamps? If I get too many negatives am I banned from the site? Please don't count my ignorance against me! Unless they count for Green Stamps.

Obama needs the super delegates to declare victiory tonight. Right now, according to MSNBC he needs 33.5 delegates to reach the magic number. Where the hell are the Super delegates? They can put an end to this tonight but NO they are going to let Clinton rule the evening.

This whole thing sounds really suspicious to me. She knows the flood of superdels are coming, then this AP story that she is going to admit that Obama has the vote, then a complete retraction of it. Where did the original AP story come from? Is it possible that they leaked it out the way they did to make the flood of superd's seem less valid, like the "false" news story itself caused the flood of superd's who were just waiting for something concrete? Its kind of like election 2000 when Florida was called before the polls closed and everyone blamed the news outlets. It feels like that, but on a smaller scale. I'd be curious to see where that original AP story came from.

To bad so sad for the Clintons, Big Love Oboma is so young in the political game that he is real hard to smear. He has no real voting record to attack, and he either really is clean, or is real good at covering his tracks (I am a cynic so I am inclined to think it is the latter). Ether way it is bad news for Clinton. The only way she has ever won anything is that she makes her opponents look more evil than she is. This has not worked for her vs. Big Love Oboma.
As for me I feel like I have no candidate so I will be writing in Ron Paul. I can't see anybody other than who is saying things that I respond to and will take DC in the direction it needs to go.

Hillary's calling the kids from Jesus Camp to protest in Denver

Its very hard to understand what positives the Clinton camp thinks it is accomplishing by this apparently releasing statements that appear to come from not just two but three faces. I would submit that if nothing else it is simply confirming the increasingly negative opionions people have about the monster and her minions.

Obama giving the VP slot to Hillary Clinton...is the only way to heal our nation and bring us all together!

Fully one half of the Democratic Party voted for Clinton.
And believe me....they're not going to be voting for the 'Magic-Man' and some newfangled VP they hardly know.

OBAMA~CLINTON...It's the only way to go!

Let me add: Everyone I know and love voted for Obama in the primaries. From my children to 90 year old aunts and uncles.
I am a fence-sitter...I see both sides equally and if we truly want to heal and strengthen this Dem party we must compromise.
Please...open your minds and see that.

Open-minded or not that will not serve the Country. It may assuage the Hillary fans but it would be disastrous. She would question everything he does and she would likely try stand aloof at any decision he makes that is questioned. i.e. "I have to take him at his word when he says he is not a Muslim."

Txex...this is so over-blown and exaggerated.
Like many things Clinton said that were twisted.
    Please...open your eyes.
Here watch it...She said "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO there is nothing to base that on as far as I know".

Good, when Roe v Wade is overturned by John McCain then we'll know who to blame. You. I don't have a uterus, it's not gonna affect my life.

$100 says tubal ligation specialists earn record incomes should John McCain become president. Luckily I got mine while the price/demand was still low... heh

It isn't going to matter to me who is the VP because I will be voting for the Democratic candidate HOWEVER I think Hillary Clinton as VP could possible be another Cheney. Bush and Cheney expanded the powers of the Pres and VP and I believe Clinton as VP will take full advantage of those powers. Could be wrong but I think there would be total friction between the two.

Another thing that really bothers me is that Clinton really, really wants to president. If something were to "happen" to Obama in office I would always have nagging doubts about whether VP would have had a hand it in.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
I agree with you. I wouldn't trust the Clintons in the VP slot for one second. Obama can't be a good Pres when he has to sleep with both eyes open...

Besides we all know the Clintons' ego would never in a million years allow them to play second fiddle.

    Oh no uh uh .....

Obama's campaign is about change, not putting the entire electorate thru 5 months of Clinton baggage all over the airwaves. All that would do is suck valuable focus from the things we need to fix going forward.

Besides, she's *totally* undermined him. Why should he cater to the Harriet Christians of the country (who aren't real Dems anyway if they're going to vote McCain IMO), and then lose all his crossover Republican & Independent support due to her being on his ticket?

I will be hugely disappointed if he were to take her, and highly doubt it will happen.

My guess is that Slick Willie has located Obama's love child and has sold the story to the National Enquirer.
