I posted this on TPM but it is worth repeating:

The recount could be good for Franken. Officials will now verify and count provisional ballots which could swing the votes to Franken since the most provisional ballots will be from the bigger cities which Franken carried.

It was arrogant for Coleman to declare victory with the race so close.

What kind of voting system do they use? Punch cards? Blacking in circles? Does Franken actually have a shot at closing the gap through a recount? I certainly hope so, I really loathe Coleman.

Minnesota uses an optical scan paper ballot system. Minnesota has one of the best election systems in the US and consistently has one of the highest voter turnouts in the country. I have complete confidence in our state's processes and official to conduct a fair re-count. ONe thing to note is that there are about 25,000 ballots that have a presidential vote but no senate vote..... With 500 votes separating Franken and Coleman, anything is possible. I am hoping Franken pulls this out........
