Damn shame-one more time- why couldn't it have been Darth Chenney?
  • doug · 1 year ago
Sen. Kennedy is a champion for organized labor and working class issues. I hope he recovers fully. His presence will be needed to pass worker-friendly legislation in the Obama Administration.

    from Kos:

Some encouraging news: On CNN, Ed Henry is reporting that a Kennedy source says that the Senator himself at about 10:30 a.m. called someone to say he couldn't host a luncheon. That would have been more than two hours after the originial 911 call.

Let's all take a few moments to say a little prayer, that Ted will be ok. He is a great person!

Jimmy Carter believes the reason Reagan won in 1980 was because Ted Kennedy did not support him after the convention was over. During the Reagan revolution (that was caused by Kennedy not supporting Carter AFTER the convention) aid hit and killed most of my friends in New York City. Kennedy and Bush said nothing about Aid or Gay Rights until after Rock Hudson died. What did the Kennedy's ever do for Gay Rights?
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
They let Maria Schriver marry that Austrian social climber. Not that he was ever gay-identified as such in spite of his body-builder fixation, but he supports gay rights in Calif.

    God, bless Ted.

    Senator Barack Obama:
I know a lot of you are interested in the situation with Senator Kennedy. I have been in contact with the family. Obviously they are in our thoughts and prayers. They I am sure will be releasing some sort of a statement when they have a better assessment of what the situation is. But you know as I have said many times before Senator Kennedy is a giant in American political history. He has done more for the healthcare of others than just about anybody in history. So we are going to be rooting for him. And I insist on being optimistic about how it is going to turn out.

CNN is now saying it looks like it was "just" a seizure. Hope they're not blowing smoke.

    Get well, Ted!
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Could be anything, really.

    Get better Ted!

btw, this is a reminder about why McCain's age IS an issue during the election season. He's going to be 72? Um, yeah, I would be concerned that the leader of my country doesn't get sick or die in office, but even more importantly, have some sort of debiltating condition yet STAYS in office without all of his marbles in place. McCain's age is a problem. Sorry buddy.

AP saying likely not a stroke:

The Massachusetts Democrat did not appear to have had a stroke as initially suspected, Kennedy spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said. She said he is undergoing tests at Massachusetts General Hospital to determine the cause of the seizure.
"Senator Kennedy is resting comfortably, and it is unlikely we will know anything more for the next 48 hours," she said.

    Like Reagan's second term.

AP now says Kennedy had a couple of seizures, which could have resulted from just about anything, including a reaction to meds. No doubt, they're going to keep him for observation. If anything, he may have the occlusions in his arteries that doctors were denying he had after last fall's blockage in his carotid was discovered and dissolved.

Ted Kennedy has done more good for the US in the last 50 years than all Republicans combined.

    God Bless Him.

Hospital just reported as read at Huffington post that it was NOT A STROKE. It was a seizure and not life threatening.

You've got to see this to believe it. The Republicans at FreeRepublic (the sponsors of CPAC and one of the most popular GOP sites) are literally celebrating and making jokes about Kennedy's tragedy. There were some totally unbelievable comments they they kept taking down. But the hateful Republicans keep coming up with even more sick stuff.

Bill O'Reilly, Rush, and Coulter should be ashamed of the type of goons they have emboldened. The media really needs to be reporting on these vicious and disgusting Republicans. They pick some tiny remote comment out of Daily Kos and make a big deal of it. But FreeRepublic is boiling over with racism, bigotry, and murderous hatred.
