It would never happen in the US. You can also look at the US government jobs and see how unfairly women and minorities are treated in hiring and promotions. Another place that would be interesting to check out would be the congressional staff pay, and the ratio of men to women on the various staffs.

How much does the Queen get? Still a bit of an aristo problem there, yes?

'Course, we have our own congenital parasites. And they're the ones actually making those salary decisions, here.

Always remember: no good deed goes unpunished.

On the same page as the article cited above, another blurb about women over 40 and their "sense of style" tries to paint them as "independent" at the same time they're described as "hot." (And I'm sorry, but Vivienne Westwood still looks like someone's granny--the British do have a sense of humor there--or is it; after all, it's "fashion").

So, with that attitude, things will always remain the same. Women judged on their looks or sex appeal, not their brains, eh? Even when they have accumulated years of experience in the workforce, sex sells better than actual brain power.

Even in surveys done about those who rise to the top, people who are better looking (a subjective observation) have more success than their plain vanilla counterparts. And where does that leave minorities?

First on the list should be the UK government and the local government authorities who in cahoots with the public sector unions have operated massive pay discrimination against women.

"...maybe he could pull it off if he let the GOP segregate the schools again in the south..."

that's a great idea. but first, we've got to bar a black man from becoming a senator, while having no legal reason to do so.
