    There was a fascinating documentary that played last week at the San Francisco LGBT film festival about how Iranian gays are pushed by the government to get sexual reassignment surgery. Unlike homosexuality, transsexuality is OK with Islamic law and the Iranian government and is accepted by Iranians. It's sad that they confuse homosexuality with gender identity, but then again our government has some pretty fucked up ideas when it comes to these issues too.
