This is just part of a promotion for a new Sex Pistol's re-release, I think,

Don't worry, be happy: The aliens will save you.

While I understand the substance of the issue - a member of the Queen's military speaking out in public... the kid is 24 years old. And his "Boss" happens to be his grammy.

Tell me that no one has ever found themselves in a group of compatriots talking smack about their boss. Honestly, I don't think it's anything more than Harry trying to fit in.

And, also this is my own opinion... I think that paparrazzi should be treated as stalkers. I think the people they are stalking and spying upon should have every right to spray them with mace or pepper spray, use tazers and stun-guns, and any other means to protect themselves, their families and their privacy..

Certainly I enjoy seeing pictures of Harry half-naked on a beach or groping a girl in a bar, or liking some boy's nipple... or brother William with a fist full of uncircumcised Royal Penis out back unloading on a fence. BUT for christ's fucking sakes (if you believe in such fairy tales) These boys didn't make a decision to be part of the Royal Family. It was an accident of birth. Leave them the fck alone. They will never have anything near a normal life. Why make it okay for these scum-suckers who murdered their mum to continue to make their lives hell?

I call war on the paps... whether in the UK or the US, those "people" should get just what they deserve... and what they deserve may still be up for discussion. But I think it won't be pretty.

Haven't they destroyed enough childrens' lives? Look at most of the child stars in America who couldn't handle the pressure, the publicity, the scrutiny of life in the public eye.

It's time we put these leeches and their tabloid press employers out of business. Do people really have such pathetic lives that it's worth destroying other people's lives for their mere amusement?? If you could possibly answer anything but "No" to that last question, then I declare war on you too.

So, the modern Army will train you to kill someone while only referring to them in polite, politically correct names at all times?
  • RobertSanDimas · 10 months ago
I'm not condoning Harry's behavior and words, but you nailed it. I've never been on the battlefield, but I'm sure the language isn't like lovely, afternoon tea chat.

I know it's just a film and fictionalized "docudrama" for the most part, but I finally got to see "The Queen" last night. What a great film it was and what a great actor Helen Mirren is. The Royal Family is brutally clueless about other human beings, just as all fiat rulers and manifest destiny adherents are. Of course, it was also a time prior to Blair being under Bush's influence as well, when Blair still had some sense and far less money.

Hard to credit that Diana's son would act that way.
  • foxy · 10 months ago
He's always been a little prankster.
  • nhs · 10 months ago
Thank God the paparrazzi don't follow me around and publish what I do in my worse moments. One would wonder if I was a liberal progressive. ;-)
  • foxy · 10 months ago
You know what it boils down to be...they just wanna be like everyone else....who here never never ever mocks anyone? Please cast the first stone.

    "many in the US" ?

"keen to create American royal families?

You ascertained this data from where? Many? Keen? What polling organization or study was done that provided you with this information?

Whether the the value of the British Royals is worthless is certainly a statement some in the UK would engage you in debate. I do not disagree they are throw back of another time but I think (political) family respect and admiration does not mean that "many" Americans are keen on a or multiple royal families.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think this was a reference to the founding of the U.S., where I understand there was sympathy among some to have a King but apparently it was a myth that Washington was offered to be King.

Slow-witted 19th century German immigrants from Hannover make for an unlikely royal family. At least the Spanish royal family is Spanish.

    Eurotrash.
  • AdmNaismith · 10 months ago
Harry knows he's never going to ascend to the throne, so he knows he can spend his time being rich, idle Eurotrash.
Still, he could follow his Mother & Father's example to do charity and other good work, but it's not likely to happen until he's out of his 30s.

You all are just giving Prince Harry the attention he wants. Instead of giving so much attention and therefore power to Prince Harry, why don't you just dismiss the remarks as ignorant and focus on matters that are actually relevant.

The Brits are known for their vile tongue why are we surprised
  • mamazboy · 10 months ago
The racism stuff is troubling, but he gets props for mocking that ridiculous "queen."
  • Badger3k · 10 months ago
I hate to tell you, but I've seen far more of that during my time in the Army. To be honest, I've used it myself. Raghead was a common name for all arabs, especially those on the other side. There are worse things said. This is a problem that goes beyond British royalty.

Just two other replies to comments: the "keen to create" a US Royalty, I would gather, comes from the political dynasties that we have allowed to form (the Kennedys and Bushes are two notable ones, but look at the data of children - or spouses - of elected officials taking over for them) as well as the media and pop cultures fascination with these families. Look at Caroline Kennedy, who may or may not be qualified for office, and the hype that some people make due to her name.

Also, why wouldn't the son of DIANA make remarks by this. I capitalized her name to reflect the deification that some people give her. I always found it funny that, after her wedding, many people did not like her (and coverage was not always positive, especially from other members of the Royals), but when she died - wham, she could do no wrong. She was no proverbial saint, she was human. So are her kids. We've seen the myth of breeding debunked time and time again.

Oops, I thought i was on Perezhilton for a moment. HRH is pretty , pretty vacant & he don't care.
  • warbler · 10 months ago
I hate racism but this is just good matured bullshit he's talking and the criticism is extreme political correctness. He's just a cute guy acting normally and does not seem to be expressing ethnic or racial hostility. I thought the phone call was funny and when someone asked if his "pubes are ginger, as well" his straight faced "Yes, they are." was really funny.
I think a prince has a right to say "Fuck me." The English are objecting to the fact that he's swearing? Come on.

"He also mocks the Queen - the commander-in-chief of the British army - during a pretend mobile phone call."
Is that true? The Queen is the head (Lord High Admiral) of the Royal Navy, but I don't think she's in charge of the British Army. The Army is Parliament's (that's why its not the "Royal Army") though the Queen is Colonel-in-Chief of certain units.

Also, before you call them worthless, I don't see Bush's kids in the Armed Forces. It says something about them that the scions of the British royals serve.
  • tropicgirl · 10 months ago
If it hasn't already been said, how terribly ashamed his mother would be of him. He is not just any kid, he has a lot of influence by who he is and should set a good example. This is a Bush in the making and I am so incredibly sorry for his mother. But on the other hand, the kid is probably pretty messed up since he has to consider the possibility that his mother was murdered for her wonderful beliefs and support of people all around the world.

Grief, a three year old video when a 21 year-old cadet is acting like a dick? Stop the fucking presses...

And anyone who thinks he's mocking HRH the Queen in that video is daft. It's plain in the transcript he's mocking himself.
  • stringph · 10 months ago
Sure, by the same criteria (i.e. do they ever say anything which could sound offensive) about half, if not more, of the people in Britain's and US armed forces are 'worthless'.

This is a pretty hypocritical post.
