AMERICAblog: British tidal energy project launches this week

  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
OH no! Say it's not true! Energy from something other than oil and coal? No no no. The CEOs of Exxon, Chevron, and Shell will have to cut corners! This is outrageous! Why it's a Communist plot! I can hear beads dropping all over Houston as trophy wives of Exxon execs are in panic because they cannot drop ten grand a day at the Galleria!

Sweet!! The picture looks like one of those cybernetic drawings from Popular Mechanic magazine circa 1947. I love the Captain America retro-look!

Of course it's a fit for the US. Anything other than oil would be.

Meanwhile, Chris, I haven't seen any comments about the 1800 troops (I believe that's the number) being sent to Afghanistan by Sarkozy. It was just reported that local violence is up there, including roadside bombings, etc. What's the feeling in France about this?

I can see the new war in the future being whoever controls the oceans controls the planet.

Actually a lot of the CEOs and investors in big oil are also becoming investors in alternative energy. Its George W. Dufus who is twenty years behind the times. He never was a successful oil tycoon either. He was as incompetent as that as he has been at everything else in his life other than trading off Daddy's name.

The only major oil company that is still in global warming denial is Exxon-Mobil.

This is a great idea, however we are run by the oil companies and this country is now BROKE! Hopefully we can still do this type of thing.

In Maine, near the bay of Fundy the tides are near 25 feet. Someone, not sure who is already doing experiments using this technology. It is being tested in Passmaquoddy Bay near East Port, ME.

I'm in Maine too, and I wouldn't hold my breath for too many alternatives here. There was a big hoopla a few years ago about a huge windmill farm up on some mountain...and it died because nobody would invest in it.

With ALL of the above available, not to mention another wind generator specifically designed for urban areas (vertical alignment which takes advantage of updrafts created by tall buildings), it becomes impossible to ignore the elephant in the living room.

When hybrid cars are made PURPOSEFULLY so that the ONLY way to recharge them is to run an internal combustion engine...again, the elephant in the living room is impossible to ignore.

We will NEVER be free of fossil fuels until we are free of fossil fuel corporations and the revenue raiders that deplete the revenue before profit into their own pockets to live as gods amongst us.

Greed, guys. Millionaires who will sacrifice the lives, limbs, faces, and futures of others to make more millions for themselves.

While there are still trillions of dollars worth of petroleum products in the ground, we will NEVER see any general usage of the amazing technology that is available RIGHT NOW.

And that's all there is to it.
