This legalese is basically ripping the average American, rewarding bad Wall Street practices, failing totally to punish unethical behavior, and setting up our children up to pay off ill gotten gains that could--but will not--be returned to those who were ripped off.

This is shameful, criminal, and ruinous to America. We may never recover.

In China and other countries, those who perpetrated these frauds on American taxpayers would be put before a firing squad.

I was intrigued about the "popularity" of the leading people involved in the proposed bailout bill so I did a face-off at my Word Face-Off blog: Paulson, Bernanle, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Boehner, McConnell, Baucus... even Bush, Obama and McCain. The resulting trend graphs are very interesting.

Isn't it interesting that Warren Buffett is pushing hard to approve this bill at the same time he is investing heavily in the company that stands to make the most out of the deal?

    We are being so screwed.

Sure - Buffett dropped $5Bn on Goldman hoping that the bailout would make him a pile. The meltdown he's worried about is his own....

Hmmm...and the military will help with crowd control and civil unrest...are we seeing something brewing here?

Buffet is trying to limit his losses.

Would someone explain why I should care if there is an "economic meltdown"...whatever that means. I don't have enough to invest anywhere. All my salary is invested in mortgage payment, electricity, gas, food, etc. The meager $6k I have in savings is in a credit union.I don't understand why I should even care if big banks fail.

The meltdown WILL happen regardless of whether we allow these criminals to steal another trillion from us.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

    LET IT BURN

We might actually rid ourselves of the loathesome Federal Reserve at last.

We need a sane monetary policy...like our government issuing interest free currency as MONEY instead of as DEBT. Check out this video if you are a "how money is created" virgin http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-905047...
