  • Joel · 11 months ago
The only good thing about today is, G.W. is gone.
  • dad · 11 months ago
    Please, look again.
  • Lib4Life · 11 months ago
I hope you yelled "BITCH" one last time.
  • BroD · 11 months ago
    Thank God, Almighty!
  • blackwolf · 11 months ago
So, is that a flying saucer in the second pix escorting Bush out of town?
  • Bush_Bites · 11 months ago
Flying saucer's taking Cheney back to Rigel 7.

His mission--to infiltrate the US government and begin the destruction of Planet Earth by manipulating a naive stooge--is completed.
  • lucky hussein · 11 months ago
    Rigel 7? sounds star-trek-ey ;)
  • Bush_Bites · 11 months ago
    (Got it from the Simpsons.)
  • Gridlock · 11 months ago
Kang and Kodos better roll out the blow up mattress.
  • davidinchelseama · 11 months ago
Actually, we Rigelians just TOLD Cheney that he had a mission on Earth. In actuality, we really just wanted to get his ass off our lovely planet. We can't believe you bastards are sending him BACK here. Yikes. Thanks for nothin' !!!!
  • dad · 11 months ago
    ahhhh.

    thank you John.
  • Donna in Rome · 11 months ago
Yeah, what's that second pic? Is he being escorted by a UFO?
  • Dogman · 11 months ago
    LOL, that's what I wondered!
  • sukabi · 11 months ago
naw, it's the load of shit that follows Bush around... finally leaving Washington DC with him...
  • dad · 11 months ago
    very good.
  • ChasMaine · 11 months ago
That UFO is escorting him back to his planet.... let the healing begin!
  • tlsintx · 11 months ago
    never again.
  • PeteWa · 11 months ago
I loved hearing the entire crowd sing:

    Na Na Na Na
    Na Na Na Na
    Hey Hey
    Goodbye

Bush, go back to the hell you spawned from.
  • mmedefarge · 11 months ago
I know. I realized the crowd was singing and at first I couldn't figure out what it was.
    That was great!
  • teammarty · 11 months ago
    Even better irony...
The band who did that song (Steam, probably #4 on VH1's one hit wonders list) was from Chicago.
  • sukabi · 11 months ago
you know if the gnews people want to start on the road to redemption, they really need to do a side by side of this inauguration with the one 8 years ago,.... mood of the people, the method of "election" of the presidents, the route of the presidential motorcade, presidential speeches...

Christ on a cracker... listening to msnbc... talking about if Obama was black enough, in their recounting of the last 2 years...
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 11 months ago
Nobody threw eggs at the motorcade this time.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 11 months ago
    When is the parade???

I can't wait to see the Gay & Lesbian marching band!! I wonder if they will be identified!!
  • TampaZeke · 11 months ago
Don't be so sure that they will air it. I wouldn't be a bit surprized if they cut away for commercial right before they show up.
  • FreakOfNurture · 11 months ago
Don't let the propellor blades hit you in the head.

    ...On second thought...
  • Mike_in_the_Tundra · 11 months ago
And don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
  • voxpopgirl · 11 months ago
Bush's helicopter looks like a bloated old fly making its final flight before its' imminent demise.
  • MrsTarquinBiscuitbarrel · 11 months ago
That was clearly audible on MSNBC not only when Bush left, but at other times before O took the Oath.

And what kind of BS is that about Cheney lifting his own boxes? He's probably pulling a Caballero of SCTV, who got in and out of
a wheelchair saying that the chair gave him "more respect."
  • woodroad34 · 11 months ago
Those boxes of incriminating evidence can be awfully heavy...
  • teammarty · 11 months ago
Oh, I see. He was carrying the boxes to the Oliver North Memorial Shredder.
  • woodroad34 · 11 months ago
Yes, right after writing "Fuck You" on the desk in Biden's Office.
  • Blozzy · 11 months ago
In the second photo, it looks like a spaceship full of aliens came down to make sure he was really leaving!
  • woodroad34 · 11 months ago
Actually, they had planned to come down a few days ago and say "take me to your leader" and someone corrected them by pointing out that a real leader would be sworn in today...two ships passing in the night, errr day.
  • Ryan Roat · 11 months ago
Is that Darth Cheney's Imperial Cruiser in the second shot? (That would fit with the John Williams score, right?)
  • mirth · 11 months ago
A day I have longed for. Blessed riddance.

The ceremony highlights, the ones that most moved me, were the poem by Elizabeth Alexander and the prayer by Reverend Lowery. Even above Obama's speech, I loved these.
  • VJBinCT · 11 months ago
Going, going. gone... Thank God in Heaven!!!
  • bumpkis · 11 months ago
I forwarded your 2nd photo to RENSE as further proof of UFO existence.
  • Scooter in Brooklyn · 11 months ago
I was at a little restaurant having lunch during the departure. Everyone was cheering and waving goodbye.
  • scottinsf · 11 months ago
    Adios motherfucker.
  • barbarajmay · 11 months ago
My 15 year old is at the inauguration. She just texted me to tell me that everyone around her was sobbing and hugging and praising. She said she was so choked with emotion she could hardly breathe. What a wonderful end to our national nightmare.
  • cosanostradamus · 11 months ago

In weather news, winds up to 125mph were recorded around the globe as over 6 billion people simultaneously heaved a sigh of relief. Astronauts aboard the International Space Station reported a gigantic "WHEW!!!" that rattled solar panels and caused zero-gravity toilets to overflow. When asked for his comment on the phenomenon, ex-President George Walker Bush (43) said, "Ah'm ahblibious," and emptied the service bar on Marine One. He will be missed. Because it's very hard to hit that aircraft.
    .
  • lesboprof · 11 months ago
Ah, but you need the part where everyone was singing "Nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, goodbye!"
  • sukabi · 11 months ago
the big news now on msnbc is FASHION.... dissecting Michelle's fashion sense... funny they never discussed Laura's couch cover dresses...
  • houstonray · 11 months ago
    "Laura's couch cover dresses..." LMAO!
  • woodroad34 · 11 months ago
Really! I was looking at a retrospective of First Lady's gowns on AOL the other day. They'd have the drawing of the dress and then the person wearing it. What they should have done is drawn the gown as if it were actually going to be worn by the person! I looked at the drawing and it was wonderful, then I saw the picture of matronly Laura squeeeeezed into it. How embarrassing, the first fat ass--and in red, too!
  • miss skeptic · 11 months ago
I listened to Glenn Beck this am - wanted to see if his head would explode on the radio - he actually said he understood all the Obama supporters - it's just that they're all so ARROGANT! Pot, kettle calling on line 1.
  • Chris From Maine · 11 months ago
hard to believe its over. It's finally over.

Oh, and I think Roberts screwed up the oath on purpose.
  • nicho · 11 months ago
No -- I think the words just stuck in his throat -- kind of like The Fonz trying to say he was wrong.
  • Griffon · 11 months ago
Without a doubt, I'm telling you I'm burnt out
My tank is running on empty for far too long
Woah! I need fuel cause Im getting so low
Something drives me crazy, got to, got to get away
    Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
    Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye!

    So many images...
Aretha...and that superb hat that harkoned back to the Roosevelt inaugural!
    Cheney hobbled and wheelchair-bound...
Scalia's hat...looking like Fu Manchu or the Merchant of Venice.
The long shot of the packed mall with regularly spaced digital screens, a slight echo and President Obama saying this:

Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions — who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.

It was timeless...a harbinger of our fully global village...I shiver thinking about it.

PS-John, Is that a UFO in image #2? Was Obama also speaking to a multi-solar village?
  • So Left I'm Right · 11 months ago
The three sweet words we have all waited to hear for so long... "FORMER President Bush"!
  • SeaRod · 11 months ago
I am wondering if this moment would have happened had the Bush years not been such an unmitigated disaster?
  • AdmNaismith · 11 months ago
No. John McCain would be president and (Lords of Light!) Sarah Palin would be fingering Cheney's man-sized safe, wondering which of the many people who don't like her to put in it first.
  • paulbe · 11 months ago
I would so love to have heard Sarah Palin sworn in. The final collapse of civilization would be worth it just to hear her say "like totally" when asked if she would faithfully execute the office etc etc.
  • TimK · 11 months ago
Love the second shot, where one can imagine that he's leaving in the UFO he belongs in.
  • AdmNaismith · 11 months ago
    That's what I thought!
  • Sean · 11 months ago
    I thought they'd never leave.
  • Rustyzipper · 11 months ago
A new day has begun. What a great burden has been lifted from our nation. our hearts have been released from the prisons where they were hiding until the day it was safe to see each other in our radiant power . Fear is no longer our national motto. Instead we walk into this new day with peaceful pride and hope of unity toward all... God Speed Prez Obama!
  • nicho · 11 months ago
How disgraceful -- for an alleged president of the US to be booed out of town. How badly do you have to fuck up to be booed like that.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 11 months ago
Well, it was too cold today to heat up the tar. Feathers were available, however, courtesy of Alaska turkey farms.

    Booing had to suffice.
  • woodroad34 · 11 months ago
Was he literally booed out? I haven't watched any programming, so I don't really know. How great it would be though, given his penchant for being a cowidiot, to be "booed" out of Dodge!
  • woodroad34 · 11 months ago
Where's Al Qaeda when you REALLY need 'em?
  • Rustyzipper · 11 months ago
OUR new president showed his learship in the first 30 secs....

The Chief Justice messed it up. He dropped a word, put it back in, put it in the wrong order. And on Obama's face you could almost read "That's not how it goes...Okay let's try again....Not quite but keep trying....Okay, you got the important parts in and that's what we're aiming for....Everybody calm down....There ya go Chief. You saw it through and we got the job done. You didn't quit and I'm proud of you. Now go sit down we have things to do." lol He even worked in an amused little smile like he enjoyed the human aspect of it. He wasn't rattled, he made it work.

    .
  • Indigo · 11 months ago
That's about how I saw it too. Poor John Roberts, all dressed up and ready to marginalize himself with a screw-up. Permanently.
  • Matt · 11 months ago
    GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH.

BUSH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE PRESIDENCY.
HE WAS UNQUALIFIED, UNFIT, AND DANGEROUS, TO BE PRESIDENT.

OUR NATION HAS SUFFERED GREAT LOSSES UNDER THIS BUSH/CHENEY REIGN OF TERROR. SO DID THE REST OF THE WORLD.

NOW LET THE GROWN UPS TAKE OVER.
  • Bart · 11 months ago
now we can look forward to baby bama and the clintonistas destroying any vestige of maturity in our nation; spending away all of our and our grandkids money, while saving the uniions and other bigtime demonazi organizations. Oh Boy!
  • kladinvt · 11 months ago
It will always be amazing to me how someone can look at the past eight years and think someone else could actually do worse. Idiot.
  • RainbowPhoenix · 11 months ago
Except we came dangerously close to electing someone who actually could've.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 11 months ago
Gawd, those are so the pictures I've been waiting for, for 8 years.
  • DMo · 11 months ago
In that third photo, it looks like Washington is flipping him the bird.
  • Clint · 11 months ago
WOW! You've got a kickass view!
  • AdmNaismith · 11 months ago
John Stewart and Stephen Colbert really had the best and final word on the Bush 'presidency' last night.
    And Christine Ebersole was lovely.
  • dasein211 · 11 months ago
Is that a UFO in the second picture?
  • Joel · 11 months ago
    It's a bird.
  • paulbe · 11 months ago
Its a bird, but my first take was that it was a stealth bomber. Lone disheveled white guy in stealth bomber????
  • Ginger_FL · 11 months ago
    OH shit...
CNN reporting that Robert Byrd and Ted kennedy both collapsed during lunch.
CNN reporting that kennedy was seizing....
  • RainbowPhoenix · 11 months ago
The one sad thing about this moment is that Bush had to steal two elections and almost destroy the country and the civilized world for it to happen.
  • tsuki · 11 months ago
I would have preferred a "You're history, bitch" headline to complete your countdown, but I am so relieved that he's gone, I'm dead tired.
