AMERICAblog: Burger King chains promote "Global Warming is Baloney"

Sounds like one more good reason to avoid shitty food.

The A&W Root Beer in Frisco, CO (between I-70 and Breckenridge Ski Resort) is run by fanatical Christians - yet open on Sunday, hmmm. Anyway, their sign always contains a bible verse or some other "praise God"/hate-the-gays type quote. Inside they have literature all over about their particular church. It's a joke out here and a tourist spot we like to stop at to scare our out-of-town friends.

Is anyone really surprised by this? Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi are hardly bastions of intelligent thinking. After all this is the land of Trent Lott and Mike Huckabee. And I thought that Florida was backward.

For me it's just another reason to not go to Burger King in addition to the food not being good for you. As long as they allow their franchise operators to sully their reputation like this they deserve what they get.

whatya expect from backwards states where religion rules....and that's ANOTHER reason I would NEVER go there..they wouldn't get my tourism dollars....sorry Dolly.

I live in downtown Memphis....what a place to live. Just moved here from Florida about a year ago. Grew up in Arkansas and forgot how backwards it is here. The county commission voted on an anti glbt discrimination ordinance yesterday--the support for it was overwhelming except for the minority preachers who came out hating along with one infamous white baptist klanny who actually stood firm with the blacks. It got shot down and replaced with a blanket anti discrimination resolution...won't hold up for toilet paper let alone in court. This BK deal doesn't suprise me...you have no idea....

Because, y'know. Damn the man. And their science voodoo.

    Tennessee is hardly "deep south."
  • jcgraham77 · 5 months ago
Haha....the local population certainly considers it so...
  • JohnInTexas · 5 months ago
LOL Just because they don't know we're down here doesn't mean it ain't so! I'm sure Hooterville is as far south as most of them get and contrary to what they may think, it's not walking distance to Mexico.

Physically, you may be correct. Don't waste your keystroke, many of us have been there.

Oh and we southerners have just been stuck down on the ranch pokin cows and shootin each other in the back and never been to them parts of the world. Some of "us" down here don't bother visiting Hillbilly Land, aka, Tennessee, nor would we give a Hillbilly land Burger King franchise owner's silly-assed sign so much free publicity.

So now you alarmists are afraid of a few signs?
  • Non Oblitus · 5 months ago
The signs should have said "Global Warming: One WHOPPER of a lie."
