Congratulations, in the morning we American taxpayers own an 80% stake in AIG. Woohoo, I can't wait for my dividend checks to roll in... I'm going to Disneyland!
Unless you own your own retirement plan? You have no retirement plan. Even then, the USA may try (a la Jimmy Carter) to roll your retirement plan into social security. The only thing you really own is the gold and silver, guns and butter and non-perishable foodstuffs that you've salted away. To think otherwise is sheer stupidity.

Maybe Ted Nugent wouldn't do it, okay? By the way, her name is spelled Barbra. I don't know why, but that's the way it is. Just because some segments of the media have trashed her over the years, it doesn't mean that everyone's obliged to drink that kool-aid.
Despite the negative hype, it turns out that she's pretty articulate, and I like it that she's committed to the Democratic Party.
Unlike the Republicans, Barbra made her fortune by dint of her talent and determination. You'd think the libertarians would love her, but then she just has to lend her talents to supporting the Democratic candidate.

this isn't an accident, they are just trying to bankrupt the gov't because (I am beginning to suspect) they are thinking of taking the next 3.5 years off and they want to make sure that there is zero money left for so-called "entitlement" programs. I don't think that these bailouts happening just pre-election is an accident, these are like last minute presidential pardons for unimprisoned incorporated "persons" .

The middle class and the rich are a co-dependent group, without one the other will sink. To have the rich ruin this country is myopic and stupid. They need the middle class to buy their goods. And with the ruination of so many older Boomer American's retirement funds this is going to cost Big Business with more taxes--they should have thought of that. Economics is like the Environment -- you screw with one aspect and everything goes askew. But we all know what neo-cons think of the environment. Despite what Michael Douglas said, Greed is not good, Greed is narrow-minded.
